I was like 12 in 1987 and I still remember going to a department store to get some ..swear to God, some tropical palm tree t shirt and shorts, with Don Johnson white canvas shoes ( totally 80's)...and in the store they had a row of TV's with the Heart video "alone" playing...to say the least I was glued to the TV...I'm like who are these two gorgeous women singing this killer song....even at that age I thought these ladies and music were beautiful....as I got older I was hooked with everything they did through the years..all I know is I'm a fan for life.....Many of these songs are very dear to me and hit me hard emotionality to this day...remind me of my late wife who I was married to for 21 years.
Agreed, I was obsessed with them back then. I saw them twice in 3 years and am embarrassed to say how many times I watched 'Alone' playback on my parent's Sony Betamax.
I would have killed to see this in 1987. I was starved to see interviews of heart like this in the latter 1980s. I was so sick of hearing about Madonna and Whitney Houston back then.
I love Ann's black hair here but during the Oct 1987 Heart concert I went to Ann had brownish hair. I wanted to see interviews by Heart like this in 1987 so bad but there were very few only endless interviews with Madonna and Whitney Houston.
Dear Mark Andes-I remember you jumping off the stage in Boulder at Blue Note in 1979 or so in Firefall and landing in front of me like a giant moth. What you said terrified me and I took off running. Surely you remember that! Then, in 1988 or so in San Francisco I was "showcasing" my own originals (having studied jazz with Mark McMillan of "Fly and the Zippers") at the Blue LAMP, and carrying a card around from Windham Hills Studios with an actual hand written name on it, when my dearest beloved Jamie Kibben (who played with your Jock Bartley in Judy Roderick) said, "Christine, you are overwrought. Go home and get one of those Boulder bass-players, say Mark Andes--he was a dear friend of mine in several past lives--and make a decent recording!" I said, "You mean the one that fell from the ceiling like a giant bat?!" And he said, "See? You need a rest." So I didn't do it, and all that remains is a pitiful remnant of my beginning songs on youtube under chrisschmelzer originals with paintings, recorded on a cheap cassette player in the late 70,s. And he's with the angels now (as he is one) so I've decided to dedicate said dollops of songs to you, Mark Andes, being as you,re the only best friend I ever heard him mention, past lives or no. I might try it again should I quit smoking. Baraka Bashad (may the blessings be) best to you and yours (if you should get this) Christine
those were the days the creepy rigged media could slam the great artists like Heart or rig news about them and not have any fans counter the criticism like fans can do now in the internet age. my guess is Ann did not not doing interviews back then but I wish she did as I was dying to see them talk and know things about them back then.
Ann was absolutely beautiful here and at the peak of her vocal power 1987.

Ann is soooo gorgeous!!! :DDD
I finally heard Denny Carmassi speak!!
I love Heart and their 1985-1987 era was the best thing in life ever.
Agreed, I was obsessed with them back then. I saw them twice in 3 years and am embarrassed to say how many times I watched 'Alone' playback on my parent's Sony Betamax.
I would add a few years 1982-87
How can I refuse is so underrated
I liked Brigade too and then Black on Black from Desire Walks On, but that was the only track.
As a younger fan I always prefer their 80s stuff.
This was on the very popular Music TV Show on german Television "Formel Eins" 1987

Super cool I wish Heart did more interviews like this between 1985 to 1988.
Journey at the end.
the interviewer was clueless..Ann Wilson doesn't have a rock voice? she has a lot of voices
She was trying to say that Ann isn't a screamer, but who knows what that even means.
She meant it as a compliment, that Ann's voice didn't sound ragged like most hard rock singers.
I love Ann's black hair here but during the Oct 1987 Heart concert I went to Ann had brownish hair. I wanted to see interviews by Heart like this in 1987 so bad but there were very few only endless interviews with Madonna and Whitney Houston.
RIP Stefanie Tücking
Is she the interviewer?
@@rwcoving Yes
When the interviewer shows up dressed like the band the interview could go anywhere.
That's Stefanie Tucking, she just passed away in December.
@@reclaimerReclaimer these are trying times for people whose best days were during the 1980s. glad to know heart is having a major 2019 tour.

Who was the band playing just before the video cut out?
Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul (with Bitter Fruit) and/or Journey.
They seem quieter than usual.
