I love Heart , Ann and Nancy Wilson are beautiful and very talented! The guys who are presented here are killer musicians too in their own right. Denny is a monster of a drummer and I'm very influenced by his drumming ! Howard is awesome and a very underated musician who can play any and many instruments! Andy is a great and solid bassist and is formally known with his work with Firewall. Great interview with this version of the band!

Mark: We were playing to kids who didn't speak the language, and they knew the words
    Ann: *H O W C A N I R E F U S E*

I know right. Ann was just SO F’ing pretty. Even during the fluffier” years her face was just classic, just beautiful. Nancy was a cutie too of course.

No idea on exact date but this is during promotion for “Passionworks,” tour, so 1983/84.

This interview was from the second part of 1983. Passionworks was released in August 1983.

ann wilson looks so good here but they said she was overweight. they are so chilled out speaking but so highly motivated in their profession and powerful- appearing on stage.

Far from overweight. It was in 1982 that she started to gain weight and the band and everyone noticed and said something to her. This interview is from at least late 1983. She looks great. I think it was in 1985 and after her weight was being noticed by the record company and so they hid her in the music videos. You can tell by the "Bad Animals" and "Brigade" era's that she gained a lot of weight.

I was always blinded by Ann's voice I guess. Her weight never bothered me at all.

🙂 Ann definitely had a crush on Mark and wasn't afraid to let him know. Sleep Alone is my favorite song from the Passionworks album. I was shocked that Ann & Nancy fires Mark & Denny in 1992 and 93 respectively. 😞

passionworks needed a 3 more really good songs and needed to be released late 1984 not late 1983 and it would have done far better and been a massive hit. 1983 was a transitionary time for rock music a lot of good rock got overlooked.

This is in the tail end of what were the Inbetween years...
Before the big come back (What about love, these dreams, what about love etc) and well after the huge early success with Dreamboat Annie, Magic Man and Barracuda....

Oh, precious, when Passion Works was released ? I love this member, but male members all has gone and other has came, all that way Heart means just Ann and Nancy, I feel vanity about that.

Funny how Nancy talks about video's being over-done and corporate.
When just a few years later they would star in the vids Nancy was bashing here.
Money talks and we know what walks.

@@AlexGray19 yep, about this time they had one last chance to be successful or dissolve forever. New management came in and talked the sisters into updating their image to a more commercial pop/MTV thing. It worked. They get a lot of critical backlash for it, but if they didn’t do that they would have faded and most likely not have gained recognition again until like 2012ish. I remember being bummed about the new image but liking those stand out songs…Alone, What About Love, all I want to do…. It saved them and let them move on to the next phase where they were able to be more artistically free. The original guys faded into obscurity until recently and they are bitter. Its like really….they criticize Ann but they had nothing holding them back. It just shows where the talent really was in this band. They knock the sisters but they weren’t able to do anything worth while without them.
