He also played laud on Wonderous Stories. Elec guitar, acoustics, laud, steel guitar, elec sitar. And he played them all live. His guitar collection goes on tour occasionally. During the recording of Drama, he said he would pull out some old hurdy-gurdies to amuse the band.
Chris playing different riffs through the piece has a lot to do with the subtle 'feel' of change, imo of course. He was such a huge influence on me early on, with the way he brought the bass to forefront with his melodic style. Definitely left an indelible mark on the psyche. 😊
Your descriptions are spot on. It goes around in circles but never gets boring with the re-harmonizations. I think thats why they couldn’t quite figure out how to end it together. 😆
Nice Justin. Going to a YES concert was something special. The vibe of the audience felt totally different from other concerts. An uplifting journey with the divine ✨️🎶✨️
When they cut loose in the All Good People up=tempo section, we get some of the best guitar-organ interplay of the show. Howe and Wakeman are blending really well here.
YES! 😊 This was always one of my favorites to see live. I do wish they had better overall sound quality for the YESSONGS album, but it was the early 70's. This band killed it live!
A live staple forever, and how the 'Yessongs' movie opens. Steve was determined to play acoustics in Yes' live shows, so for "Your Move" (and his solo) they had to provide him with a good microphone to capture the Martin as well as the Portuguese guitar (sometimes called a vachalia, but that's apparently a misnomer.) There's some post-production phasing applied to the drums on this track as well. As for the 'Grateful Dead' section, I've seen the Dead and they never jammed with anything close to this kind of energy or harmonic variation.
It remember it quite well when you did this one a couple years ago but it was the video version. You were like "who is that guy" referring to the guitar player. Well you certainly know now lol
@JustinPanariello seems so. I did a pre listen to refresh my memory and was skeptical. My guess is Yours Is No Disgrace will will grab you attention a bit more. We'll see but don't give it away before Wednesday lol
The Original on 'The Yes Album' - Part One 'your Move' - is, in my opinion, better by far. In particular the vocals and especially the original Organsound of their original band Keyboardist, Mister Tony Kaye. But Steve Howe and Alan White are here on this Live Version - both are simply outstanding here. ☺Kind Regards Heinz (from Munich/Germany). 🌳🥀🌱🌷✨
@@raymondregis6219 It's easy enough to do a Google images search for "Spanish laúd" to see that's what he plays (compare it to the video of this song on the YESSONGS film or the "Wondrous Stories" video, or the Wiki page for "laúd" which has a photo of him with it). He thought it was a Portuguese guitar as a gift from his sister, but he was wrong.

Steve Howe is so horribly underrated. Thats coming from someone going along with your deep dive. Glad I'm here to enjoy it! Thanks Justin .

Justing remember first yes concert. In mexico. Jon ssid.."thanks for waiting 20 years". Now i live in canada

You're right. Melody repeats, bassline changes, harmony changes.
Thanks Justin. This album takes me to my youth...😢
The newest season of Fargo started off with this song and a fight scene. It's awesome. 😃
Nice response.
After the solos it only gets better, I'm curious how you will experience that 😏
🤩
I hope you're ready to be blown away by Chris Squire during "The Fish".
To be honest I'm not sure he'll like it
@@kennethmckinney2532 As a bass player, I'm pretty sure he will.
@@TheReaperMan275 I don't know. I have been watching Justin daily for about 2 years. I wouldn't bet on it
so, did I like it??

Some of Steve howes solos remind me of Duane Allman in the fact where there are no bad notes.

Spanish mandolin Steve plays
It doesn't measure up to the studio recording but it's still a great song.
Portuguese 12 string in the beginning.
Yes, I beg to differ but the future will prove whoever is right,right.....?
That is a Spanish laud.
I've seen it called a vachalia and a Portugese 12 string.

It almost has a swing to it.
Yes. Its got that ‘Dead’ swing. Actually another tune that has a kind of swing (among others) is that blind melon tune no rain
@@JustinPanariello yes. Another great song. That song even has the finger snaps lol
Like in baseball a pitcher takes a little off his fast ball, regarding the music was the same but not quite the same.
Roger dean.. oerfect match
Justin get ready for topographic. Ritual.remembering. ancient. The revealing science. Bet youll like that order
Steve plays vachalia. Kind of portuguesse guitar. Not laud
Better on the original recording.
