- Episode 15 of Roadkill Garage found the hosts finally getting Steve Dulcich’s Dodge D100 pickup running with a hot 360ci small-block. Sadly, while hauling the Crusher Camaro to the track for a more recent episode, the Mopar Muscle Truck’s 360 blew up. This episode of Roadkill Extra will tell you how and why-then show you the replacement engine. But will it be temporary or semipermanent?
We’ve provided this free episode on CZcams to give you a taste of Roadkill Extra so you can decide if you'd like to subscribe for more episodes.

Dulcich is the coolest raisin farmer ever
That really opens up sooo many questions about you.
Dulcich is a pretty cool guy, he farms raisins, bashes headers, and doesn't afraid of anything
I love Dulcich's love for small displacement high RPM v8s.
sirgallium
Those "small" v8 's are still massive engines, it is just they are so acustomed to their massive egos with their 8 liter v8's that a 5 liter seems "small" to them
+mrsuperbuckets Small displacement... Typically meaning a small block, which is much smaller than the larger big blocks.
Nicholas Elias
If you are talking about physical dimensions then yes, but even from the factory there have been small blocks that are of a larger displacement than some factory big blocks.
mrsuperbuckets To muscle car guys 5.2l is small. To import guys thats massive so I can see where your coming from.
Not sure what ego has to do with this?
Dulcich is the man!
fuzzy wuzzy edgy reply there. You really got him.
CZcams has the best edgelords, doesn't it?
A man with a ponytail...
Tho he sometimes needs to lay off the needle!
+Bierkameel smfh
Dulcich is a quiet unassuming guy , until you put him behind a V8 stick shift , then, the devil takes over.
My kind of guy.
You like guys? Cool
Dingle-ball is such a funny word LOL
that 318 sounds like music to my ears
I wish he could build my 318 like that
Matthew Mcdaniel I agree it sounds sweet
I wish I could build one like that as well. I've seen modified 318's, but have never seen one done right (that made the power one would hope for after the investment of time and money).
Matthew Mcdaniel I'm starting my 318 build soon for my dart sport.
Matthew Mcdaniel i got an 86 ram, and boy does my truck sound great when i gun the engine, also a 318, with a dual exhaust, a 4 barrel carb, and a new air filter... cant wait to get those secondaries opened up....
Dulcich is awesome.
it's the fitness truck because they'll be Fitness engine in another episode
I saw what you did there…
you get +1 internet today
😆 Good one 🖒🖒
S
Damn that lil 318 sounds great!!
Love the d 100 step side she's got some power
I love those old D100 trucks and that one is sweet
Dulcich has been dying to use that 318
Love the 318s. The best thing about these trucks is how simple they are and very light.
Dulcich is the true star anyway ! He is the brains of the whole series. Give credit where credit is due! He and the "OTHER" Steve B.
Dulchich is an odd one... but he's winning me over.
Not odd, he's the man. Just not camera polished which is better in my opinion.
Dulcich is just like every other Mopar nerd I’ve ever known. I like his engine work. His taste in car body styles is another thing altogether.
In earlier episodes he seemed to belittle Freiberger all the time. I didn’t like that, but he seems to be getting better
@@NathanJones-lz9gh as freiburger did him as well!
when you said that motor started instantly u were right i didnt even hear a starter before hearing it fire up
I did.
Love the colour on that thing
That sounds like a sweet motor. Very smooth.
You know why it blew up? MotorTrend on demand, that's why.
Roadkill extra on MOD with Steve is worth watching every time. Classic old school car guy with endless knowledge.
Man I sure do like those old Mopar trucks. Thanks for the video!
Dulcich is the Einstein of MOPAR!
jack rohde ...Rick Ehrenberg from Mopar Action magazine may be the Einstein of Mopars imho...read one of those magazines if u ever get a chance...he knows his s#!t...for real!!!
Pre-smog trucks rock! Great episode. I love my small block Chevy because I'm lazy and frugal, but I also love seeing these oddball engines, too.
Nice to see Dulcich is much more comfortable in front of the camera now.
Thanks, really enjoyed all the Mopar talk.
David is buying a GTO to go after Mike.
In his T/A?
Firebird?
Just kidding, well it would be nice to see some sort of David, Mike PMD war.
Plot twist would be "Chief" in the mix.
dolsage reminds me in ways of my step dad. its been 15 years , and I miss those old conversations about this part off of that made to fit this so that we could fix the family truck, tractor etc....
Dulcich love the fit truck. I keep coming back learning something new every time.
I could sit and listen to y'all talk all day about engines 😆😆. As for the Edelbrock yes they make some good products but I always never really liked their carbs. I always believed they were not what they were rated at to. So whenever I see one on a engine I just think in my head to myself, if you put a 4150 Holley on their you will make more power.
dang that truck sounds real good
perfect work truck
Cats n Cars I sell propane and propane accessories
Lovely truck, sounds amazing!
The last 3 seconds was art
318s may not have tons of horsepower, but they produce tons of torque. One of the best sounding engines too! Ran straight pipes on an old Plymouth I had w/ a 318 that would drown out a bowtie 350 with open headers.
Not even close lol. The 318 never made much torque due to its short stroke. And 350 Chevrolet would absolutely stomp a 318 Chrysler stock for stock
wish they would grab an magnum 360 and toy with them, use the 91-95 overdrives they are 727 inside and they are plenty of them still on then road...my 2000 dakota is a blast....
whenever I hear the "living the dream" phrase I think of these guys
Dude wtf!? That little 318 gets with it and sounds amazing
I had a 318 come into the shop in a van. It ran terrible, but it ran . The guy shut it off, asked us how much to rebuild his motor, we gave him a rough estimate and he fired it up and drove it into the bay. We pulled the motor and found the center main journal broke in half at an angle so the front end drove the rear end when one of the front cylinders fired and vice versa. We had another crank in the crank room and the block was good, the mains were square and straight so all we had to do was a normal rebuild with a different crank.
Gotta love them 318"s
love this truck! I want to see more of it!
Mopar CrossFit Truck.
lilturk726 Mopar Training Shoe
Wow that truck is in nice shape, the grille looks perfect
The inevitable thought that runs through your head as the truck pulls away is - "its got some pickup!" yes, yes it does :-)
Dosage is a man after my own heart
glad I got me a membership at MTOD well worth it and got a free year of roadkill magazine.
Love my 318 in My 68' Polara, Not Fast Or Furious, but it turns heads every where I go.
Wish they would do a video on the AC conversion on a 318, I see it has a Sanden Compressor. Now I know that I will need to fab a bracket to fit it on my Edelbrock performer manifold.
I have a 1970 dodge stepside sweptline (original petina) with a motor home 413 in it. I think that should be the new MOPAR muscle truck, bring the cameras and we'll expand roadkill together!
*patina
This truck has more balls than my old '79 Chevy Sport step side with the 350 4bbl, soft cam, brand new! So jealous!
Sounds great!
why didn't they use Freiburger/Dulcic for the entire roadkill series? the chemistry is perfect
cause they would have only built rods and dulcich didn't work for dave
That's the best sounding 318,I've ever heard.SWEET
the 318 chrysler, small block, biggest and longest lasting balls. i have an 88 318 d150, 700k never touched except for timing chain.
juggernautxtr wow! that's insane!
juggernautxtr Holy shit thats insane! Tell that to Chrysler so hopefully the make the 318s again, I loved the 3 that I owned
Steve you're a legend!
Man it still sounds great!
Best Closing Ever!
I have a cool idea for Mr. Dulcich. Please build a 360 bottom end and adapt a set of 318 Poly heads to fit it. That would be the coolest small block Chrysler engine ever and it would be old school hot rodding at its finest.
I wouldn't mind seeing a full restoration of the 69' Mach 1
Mopar: Even their small blocks dont suck!
I love that truck!
love the Mopar fitness truck lololol. my dad built a 78 dodge d100 shorty. took two 440 he had sitting around and did kinda same thing but with a bbm it has a 727 trans. 3.55 rear. he put in Durango leather seats Ac and it's a screemer. at 35-40 it will pitch the truck sideways while in drive lololol. keep up the good work Trevor Seattle Washington
steve is easy to like with knowledge galore
i am also a Dodge truck guy have two 87 100 and 83 150 currently getting a 383 upgrade love the trucks
That truck is a beast.
I love these pickups looking for a cheap one at the moment as a daily project
Perfect daily driver just like you have it!
@steve dulcich what intake manifold and carb is that on the 318? I have an '84 d100 with a 318
I want to be Dulcich's friend! He has sooooooo many Dodges just laying around, he might let me borrow one. You know, the way Freiburger swap stuff back and forth. That's the FRIEND CIRCLE I NEED!!!
Sounds good!
You guys can tear anything up
Sounds great
was that a 360 block. if so where did you get main brg spacers for that 273 crank.
Frieburger and Dolcich are the bomb!! Way better then having to watch Finnegan.
Nice. I have the same truck, same year and color but it's the extended cab with 3 speed manual.
I am impressed!!!!!
Need more of this cow bell!
That 318 sounds great!
sound wicked
318 with 360 heads was one of my favorite motors.
Where did you source the V belt Sanden compressor mount from? I have a Magnum 360 I'd like to dress as a V belt LA motor. Thanks, Chris
that thing sounds mint
Are you from Wisconsin? I lived when I was a little kid. Anyways love Roadkill glad your a part of it .Dave in Humboldt Ca
Dulcich is a Mopar God!
What year and model is that truck cuz I have a 1975 w100 and they look pretty close
What's the exhaust system in this? Sounds awesome.
Engineer IRL dynomax bullets
Thanks!
That thing rips!
My 92 dakota 4x4 with the 318 was my favorite truck. Many burnouts. Lots of mud and all that thing did was burn oil.
witch is better carboraitor for the 318 edlbrock or holly
damn that little girl rev out sounded like the Pistons were going to swap holes with each other
seemed like muscle to me when he got on it lol good running 318
Shoot, that lil "318" sounds righteous!!
Dulcich I'm always looking for 70s dodge parts especially big block stuff. I have been looking for a 75 grill just like the one on your step side in this video for my 75 step side. By the way I'm loving your truck
my dream truck !!!
Thumps up for the sweet fish tail.
The heavily ported angle milled heads is the secret!!!
What Roadkill Episode Is The Truck Shootout ? Thanks
USTBUTLER my question exactly. I never see that listed
Steve got that fucker sideways anyhow, for a 318 it's not shabby.
Devin Coble just for reference, I've done the same thing on a dusty road like that in a 20 year old Suburban with a stock 5.7 vortec
RedfishCarolina , No doubt. Looked and sounded good from that angle. I've just never had much admiration for the 318, power wise. Anything has some potential I guess. For what it is though it sounds decent. I used to get my 77 f250 highboy sideways on occasion. 400m rebuilt engine and trans 4x4. Heavy custom 3/8 thick steel and oak flatbed w roll bar and 8" diameter 3/8 thick steal bumper/brush guard. Heavy dang truck. Loved it. Miss it terribly.
Those stock 5.7 Vortec's were pretty mean.
Nice truck
It sounds damn good
do all 318 motors have thick walls or just the old school 318s
Dulcich rockin the man-bun
