Wood ducks a lot of it is being where they live or in their flight path. If you’re not seeing them then you’re not where they want to be. I do target them early season in some spots and I always use at least six wood duck decoys and a mojo. They react well to motion decoys.
The Roy low and high boats are the same from the waterline down for the most part. The difference is how high the sides are. Low boats you typically need to sit on the floor. High boats require a raised seat. The estuary II is a garvey style hull design.

You would most likely be looking for a garvey type work skiff. That seems to be what you're describing.

Just about anywhere that is tidal water and 450ft away from a building.
