I actually just remembered that I won a DSi in a key master arcade game 7 or 8 years ago. LOL
I got my DSi back in 2013. One difference between DSi and Nintendo DS it that DSi is not backwards compatible with Gameboy Advance Games.
The dsi was cool because it had a camera a internet browser and a e shop may it rest in peace my only peeve with it is that it can't play gba games

Nothing, because there's No Online anymore. Even if it did, it only supported the outdated WEP encryption. (Many People use WPA2 encryption now)

@@andi6189 I got one of those two hundred-something game carts from ebay, they're like 20-30 bucks, and the one I have has great games like all the ds pokemon games, animal crossing wild world, and others that I like, so if you're looking for lots of games fast, and you don't want to spend a ton of money getting originals, that's what I would suggest.

I reccomend Animal Crossing Wild world, MarioKart Ds, Super mario bros. And if you have game boy advance games, Mario and Luigi Superstar saga. Hope this helps.

The reason the dsi power button is on the inside is so you have to open the screen first before powering on, i think the ds light was a learning experience for Nintendo regarding the power button so they fixed that problem when they released the dsi and dsi xl, though i do agree that you should be aware of how the ds lite turns on when making a review video, otherwise good video.

Edit: You can play GBC/GB games using GBA flashcard so you can still technically play those games.

@@rickysarmientofernandez9136 Ds Lite support GBA games natively, so theres really no need to emulate it though. Just get a GBA flashcart for 100 dollars and you can play all the GBA titles like they were meant to be played! :)

@@domyac9392 I have no desire for a switch(partially because I have no funds to obtain one or the games to support it). Still, I could care less about the switch(IF it could have coexisted with the 3DS family, maybe I would have been slightly interested in it). Super Smash Bros. on the 3DS is good stuff, nice with the Galaxy NEW 3DS XL. The PS4 is amazing game system. My niece and nephew have one. The "Spider-Man" game on that system is so amazing, the graphics are mind-blowing.
You could get a flashcart to download roms to play from if you donât want to buy cartridges

I still have my old DS lite from when I was young. And I have all those games in that small case that came with the console you got, including 35+ more. Still works like a charm and the games were awesome!

Well, I happen to own a DSi, a 3DS, a New 3DS XL, and a DS Lite. The latter was a recent acquisition, having found it in a Tender Centre one day. It only cost $14.40, came with no recharge cable, nor stylus or GBA slot cover and its bottom screen and digitiser were problematic at best. Thankfully, I thought ahead. I 3D printed a new stylus and GBA slot cover, utilised a cable I previously owned to charge it, and replaced the bottom screen and digitiser with new parts I got from eBay. It now works great, and will get a lot of good use out of it.
Mine too. Although Since the screen broke in the way that every single DS lite screen breaks and I decided to send it in for repairs many years later, it's no longer truly original. Although my childhood GBA SP is still in perfect working condition even after 18 years (I got it in Christmas 2005).
I still have my DS Lite. And I play it regularly. I am currently trying a challenge in Pokemon Platinum.
I also have my old GBA, Game Cube, Wii , WiiU and PS2. All of which get fairly regular use.
I like holding onto my old friends. I miss them when I can't play with them. ^^

I would get a DS to play old games, but I have an emulator, and I just find all the games slow. Especially Pokemon, I just can't play them without a speed up. It's too painful. If I could speed up the games, I totally would.

My Nintendo DS Light is 12 years old and I still play games on it. The battery life is still amazing, everything runs smoothly. The only thing that sucks is that Iâm tired of playing the same games over and over again.

I remember at night my siblings and I would all open up pictochat after playing a few rounds of Mario Kart, and weâd end up scribbling everywhere, sending that off, then copying that and making a tiny change, and the game was for everyone else to spot the difference
I love my DS Lite!!! The games are amazing and there is stuff for everyone. The ol' DS saved my summers when I was stuck in a cabin with my family without WIFI... that was around 2016-2017 now my 3DS saves me from quarantine with family.

I bought mine second hand on eBay about a year ago. It's a Lite that's mostly black with a blue top. I have New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart DS, Nintendogs, Super Mario 64 DS, and Brain Age. My DS is awesome and I love to play it when in the mood.

I just got a modded 3ds Xl with 23 games installed and man im having a blast..currently playing Pokemon ORAS but there so much games left to play.
I had DS when came out DS lite .DS I and now have 3ds and 2 ds I still got some of the games of DS and some of the games I sold at games stop and some of the games I give it to my cousin's daughter and my youngest cousin .

I still play my DS. That system had a ton of great games. But just one flaw with this system and you nailed it right off the bat. The right Button was always breaking. After having to buy nearly a dozen new DS's I finally had to jury rig the right button on one to hold it down permanently just so I could play one particular game. I only play that game on it. Rune Factory tended to be a button breaker, Lol.
Even later versions of DS, DSi and even 3DS still had button issues. My 3DS has finally given up the ghost on both L and R buttons.
I still love these systems but breaking buttons has been a big issue for me. It's sad that they couldn't fix that issue. Especially now when and if you find a new system online, it can cost hundreds of dollars for a new system.
My nintendo 2ds recently stopped turning on so I am checking this out to see if I should buy this and it looks like I will

My DS lite is really broken right now. The shoulder buttons are dead, the screen and the handheld itself has endless scratches, the bottom screen sometimes won't work and the D-Pads are harder to press, making it more uncomfortable to play my games on it. But the system still works.

I have like 8 or 12 Nintendo DS consoles. Some Nintendo DS lite, GBA advance, and Nintendo DSi. I also have about 64+ games and I've been collecting them since I was 6 and I'm turning 20 this year so yea I'm hella old but I'm never giving anyone my games or consoles. It's part of my childhood and I'm not letting my future kids play them either. Everyone told me to sell them all to get a lot of money and I'm like no doing that would be like selling away my childhood, teenage, and young adult years. By the way I love your channel.
same for me, I have DS Lite and some old console, it still good to play, and i think if you really need money, you can sell it for some, but i think not just me but many gamer who have old console, when you decide to sell this, you have money, but sometime nostaliga came back and then you cannot ignore this, you buy that old console again, to return your childhood again, so why you sell it in the first place, maybe keep it in the first place is the best choice :)

I bought a black DSlite at Goodwill on sale for $7.50 about a year ago. Everything works fine. Never had one, but have had a 2ds for a few years.

Still a great console, because not only can you play the entire DS library on it, you can also play Gameboy Advance games on it! The screen on it is brilliant and it has good buttons and a nice 3D(ish) sound!

A few days ago I started playing again on my nintendo ds lite, funny to now find this video. I Can't remember when I got mine, I know the console was not out for that long I think it was either in 2006 or 2007. Btw you can't turn it on while the lit is closed.
