- The elegant Venice Antique Show makes its reappearance in this video! Explore the wonders of our last show here as we prepare to return to the same majestic Florida beach town for this weekend's show!
The wealth of fun and fine objects in all categories of collecting span Nintendo to Chrisophle, Gucci to Moser Glass, steel wheeled toys and squash blossom jewelry! This show is a showstopper, and now is the largest antique show on the Gulf Coast all season. We find some surprising buys (iron horse head, anyone?) and some more surprising fun (a Dr. Seuss oil ad?) as we shop through this delightful antique show featuring some very good Northeastern antique vagabonds who come to sell alongside the Floridians during the high season.
It is always a pleasure to present a beautiful antique show, full of fabulously beautiful objects, great stories to hear and things you just might have never seen before! And then we bought that thing we had an eye upon...

Well now that's an antique show all that beautiful glassware, It's just so Regal and beautiful, I'll take that kind of classy glassware over those clunky swing vases anyday.
Lol I like swung vases but seeing these beautiful pieces selling for less gives perspective
Loved the green & silver Art Deco vase you pointed out, also the little carved bear with a pin cushion basket on its back and doll faced rabbit. Yeah. I’m eclectic!
That was super fantastic and thank you for taking time to share. Much appreciated.
I’m so glad! It’s a great show
Thanks George!
So nice - thx George
GREAT VIDEO! Thank you G for taking us all along and sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for coming along!
Gorgeous glass. My puppy is named Coco. I say she’s Chanel as a joke. Thanks for the beautiful items.
Lol cute!
Much success at the show this weekend👍👍👍
Can't wait! Thank you
OMG I think I threw all of my son's old Nintendo and video game magazines out!
That’s why they’re valuable now…don’t worry it happens every generation
"Look at the bunnies they are having so much fun" ... You are so funny George ... You're the best
They were delightful and made me smile
The third plate, the rabbits are playing rounders not cricket
Lots of lovely pieces in this show. Thank you for sharing this with us. Sometimes it's just fun to see beautiful objects that remind you of the reasons why you love antiques. I don't understand why people don't understand antique collectors. It's not about money ,it's about the crafts of the past. To see how things were made , back before you were born. Good luck in sales, George.
I totally agree! I do this for a living but I could go sell bleach or used cars if it was just about money. It’s the connection to people who made a lot of effort to make these lovely things that aren’t made anymore
These objects were created by craftspeople who worked for years to create fine pieces. When l was in art school, we had so much fun to spend time looking at all the objects in class. Then the American work ethic was set loose on the decorative arts, and it's just fun to watch you go at it. Thank you George for being upfront about all the details l just love to hear.🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋😇🌺🦋
Thank you so much George for taking us on this adventure it was really great I don't get out much so it's really interesting to see some of this stuff and didn't know what it is if I see it in the wild!!!
I’m so glad! I like to show things that are scarce and desirable becausewe may not see them again
Good evening, George! Maybe YT will let this comment stay 🤨That Royal Art lamp was fantastic! I'm not exactly a fan of slag glass, but that lamp was an exception. I liked the look of the gothic tri-fold mirror behind the Rosewood pieces. Was it an old one? Those pop-up books would be worth getting and holding onto. They were really well done. I liked the KLM toy aeroplane. The Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was fantastic! I have a couple of the CCBB toys, but neither are in their original boxes. Loved the vase with the ship on it. The Limoges fish set was beautiful! I have a Bavarian fish set...the Limoges ones are a bit out of my price range. Those early perfume bottles, especially the Czech ones, make a beautiful display when grouped. Loved the glass eye! I could creep out several people with that 😂 Those Baccarat candelabras were over-the-top beautiful! I have a flamingo stashed somewhere that I need to send you, if I can find it...I'm not much of a fan. Love the horse head hitching post. WOW! That was a fantastic show! Thanks for taking us along!!!
Oh yeah...if you get a chance, check out the photos of the Nippon match holder I sent you. I'm curious what you think of it.
CZcams had some issues on Monday, they're only now catching up...? Anyhow, I knew this one would be more fun for you and other folks who like true antiques and more "serious" collectibles because it's such a good show! I liked all the toys, I hadn't seen the Chitty Chitty before. I do really like the Limoges fish sets, but the Bavarian are often as nice. A shelf full of Czech perfumes always makes me happy! I will try to catch up and tell you more about the Nippon piece soon
The Venice antique show is top-notch.
It really is nice
Beautiful items.
Oh how I'd love to travel and do this.
Becoming disabled put a huge damper on that plan.
I'll just admire you George.
Thanks so much. ♡
Disability makes travel harder, but I hope you get to get out and do whatever you can! I'll take you everywhere I can in the meantime
@@TheAntiqueNomad
Aww.. Thank you.
I have fun watching your travels.
I've learned a lot as well.
I'm one year older than you, so it's fun that we recognize and remember things from our past.
Thanks, George for showing & explaining some very beautiful pieces! I've always been fascinated with the pop up books. Most you'll find are in tatters, naturally, because children are a little rough with books, but those were in mint condition. You know, with some of those very old, mint condition toys i have a theory, actually two, either they belonged to rich children that had so many toys that most didn't even get played with, or the parents were extra careful to not let their kids play roughly with their toys. Just a thought.
Pop up books so interesting
❤❤❤
I love that Rose Medallion china that is just beautiful. WOW thanks for sharing. Have a great day
It is very elegant in its decoration
Fabulous!😻
Yvon would love that John Perry
I LOVE old slag glass lamps.
I do too I could have one in every room
@@TheAntiqueNomad if you see a good opportunity for me to purchase, please let me know.
It's George time!!
Thank you for sharing. So many different vendors and so many different things to buy. I so always appreciate your comments and vast information on so many beautiful things. Please Stay Safe Happy and Healthy Have A Wonderful Day
Thank you George
Thank you George for your knowledge! Wishing you great sales 👍❤️
So nice of you! I’ll do my best
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
I always enjoy learning about the history of the items you find to show to us ! Thank you 😊 George .
The Cambridge crystal stemware was so stunning. Glass shelf with lighting on it, perfection, to me! So enjoyed the show. Thank you.🍁
Thanks me too! Good to get to show the Crystal together so people can get the impact
Wow incredible show! Gorgeous glassware and very unique items! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Our pleasure!
I love the Armadillo and Alligator purses!
I do too! I know they're a specific taste though
@@TheAntiqueNomad yea, I'm wierd, was when I was a teen too..
I was lucky enough to find that book and 4 others by the artist at goodwill. I've hung on to them for my toddler when she's old enough to appreciate ❤
Wow George, such lovely things! Thanks for sharing.
Thank You George for sharing all these seldom seen high end antiques. I would have like to have seen your booth set up.
I remember those bug sprayers!
Glad you found your eye. Eye spy with my little eye!
You showed us lots of beautiful items. Thank you!
Wow! So many beautiful pieces…So many first sightings for me. Thank you so much! I absolutely love, love, love these videos. ✨💞✨
You are so welcome! I really enjoy showing so many nice old things
Lots of beautiful things thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Whoa, that was fantastic. Thanks!
You bet! I’m always happy to show a good antique venue
I hope you enjoy doing yours this year in Venice!!
I am! Thanks
Enjoyed the show. Thank you for the tour around the floor. Have a great day!
Just have to pipe in, George. A wonderful and informative show, as always!
The Derek Dolls were the cheer team on the Houston Oilers football team in Texas. 😃
I like pop-up books too and these where very nice and well done.
The horse hitching post is awesome! My daughter has four horses on the Ohio/Kentucky border.
They must be wet! Lol. I'm just being silly, it's definitely horse country along the Ohio River.
She built a barn!
Great video! I would've loved going to that show! My wallet would be empty after! Great stuff! Thank you George!
Beautiful glass
Yes they sure have nice things
Behind on videos, this is great!!!
Thanks! Have fun catching up, I’ve been busy
Thank you for sharing.. Some of the most beautiful items. ❤ The lamp
Hi George! So much beautiful glass and interesting vintage items! You have incredible knowledge to be able to tell the history of all those items! I've never been to an antique show but looking forward to the one in WA state in the spring!
Is that Spokane? I know I'll be attending the show in Portland this July
George ...yes, it's the Custers Spring Antique show @ the Fairgrounds.
Ooh, I love the glass eye!!
So did the viewer I sold it to!
@@TheAntiqueNomad I bet! Always wanted a ring with a real one!
I have the Wizard of Oz pop up book. I also have the dinosaur and Alicein Wonderland. I work at a University and use to work in acquisitions for the library. These books came in and the staff were able to order them. Mine are dated 2000
Oh neat!
Such nice items
A really lovely show!
So fun to go to the Antique Shows with you !
Hi George 👋 I Love the Wizard of Oz pop up book. I have the Muggins book that was underneath. It was my Sweet Momma's book. She was born in 1932. Enjoyed it. Glad you made it through the Tornado ❤
Well, you found you need a glass eye for $20, and I didn't know I needed something called Rabbittware! $600 a plate! Loved the stemware, and Tiffin vase. Thank you.
Hope you do these shows again very educational I really enjoyed. I thought the prices were good thank you I really enjoyed
Thank you George! It was so fun to see the show. I just loved all the glass and the Pop up Books by Saboda. I ordered a copy of Wizard of Oz and Beauty and the Beast for birthdays, I really appreciate you sharing!
Oh how cool! Those are sure neat
Most of this is above my pay grade, but awesome to see! 👏👏
Yes me too but it’s sure fun to look
Glad you took time for your bookseller to show and talk about somes of the books. Interesting.
Never seen a cigar band dish before, very cool !
Oh my gosh....! That glass eye...had a chance to buy one...more I thought about it.. nope..it started to freak me out!! 😨😨😨
I bought it before I could think twice and then sold it to a friend who works for an optometrist
fuzzy bunny with the child's face was waaay creepy
Lol a real oddity
Absolutely loved this video💜 Thank you so much!
I have a bunch of watches and I don’t know if they work or the values if a battery has to be changed. My mom loved those plastic watches kids used to wear. I will have to check them out. Nice show as always, George. And hello to Xeno. I am as fond of him as I am of you.
💖
Your bookseller friend has a great setup. Definitely intetesting inventory 📚
I can't imagine carrying all those books to shows, he must be strong 💪 and use a big dollie too .
Fun to see the value of toys 😂 wish I had known to keep some of mine or my children's
My Hispanic friend always put the accent on the second syllable: Lla-DRO
I'm sure that's correct, I badly Anglicize things
Yes! Ukes only have 4 strings. Regular voice guitars have 6 unless they are Bass Guitars which have 4 heavier strings!
Yes! I played bass in one band
Love the intro!!!💜
Lol as I mangle another language
@@TheAntiqueNomad but you said it with such verve and panache! Lol💜
Hi George & Xeno
Hello there!
We had black flag sprayer in fla. Used them every day
Had to back then!
Nice show. I’m looking for a squashed blossom but I’m not out west. I’ve got a bear claw and I’m happy with it!
26:00 Not tennis, badminton. The registry mark will give you the year it was designed (I figured 1905 from the car and the Kovels says the mark was registered in 1906 so close enough) , and if you're in the UK you can find out whodunnit. Their Registry office still has records that far back.
Excellent information! I wasn't certain how far back the registry went. Badminton was certainly popular around 1900 so that also makes sense, and the car looked early.
Hey, Everyone, remember it helps George when we SHARE HIS VIDEOS 😊
I was in a mall the other day and boy did they have a lot of copies of vintage items from China for sale. It was a devastating feeling for me.
It’s so crappy! Why do they not just call themselves gift shops? There’s still real antiques and vintage around if you look for it, I think a lot of people are just lazy and want to order from a catalogue for their shop instead of properly sourcing
@@TheAntiqueNomad Well you and I know that you can't beat the real thing, right!
How much was the Wizard of Oz pop up book?
I think $75-85
Sounds like lots of things used to sell alot higer
Hey George! The eye is so cool, it would make a fun ring! I have a question for you, if that's okay. Do you know what those two jewellery maker marks are or how i can find out? (The profile of a man and either a shoe or a hammer head with the number 12 inside.) I believe i found a vintage 18k link cuff bracelet for just 2€ in a flea market and that will be the second ever time that I've discovered real gold mixed with costume jewellery! So exciting ❤️
Love the cat painting!!! Any info on the artist?
Not that I know of
I’ve always wonder why they always set turquoise in silver instead of gold?
I just saw 1 of the original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang vehicles used in the original movie. I was told by the museum Docent that it is 1 of three made. There is a second one in another Michigan Museum which I have also seen. I don’t know where the third one is, maybe you do?
No, I don't, that's an interesting question! Sometimes they go home with one of the stars in the movie, so maybe Dick Van Dyke has it?
@@TheAntiqueNomad thanks for the reply. Any plan this year to do a show in Michigan?
5:36 I am looking for a vintage book 📕 it’s a biography book called “Steps in Times “ Fred Astaire in no bad condition. Please 🙏🏻 let me know if you have or find it I would love to buy it 🙋🏻♀️👍🏻
I’ll keep my eye out for it!
Wow, the Shearwater Bookends, what was the price on them. I would love to find a piece of Shearwater in the wild.
$175
2500.00 Hand bag will sit lol on shelf.
Hi George! Your discussion on the slag glass lamp made me realize you may be a good person to ask this but I have a slag glass lamp that my cats had managed to make fall off my table and 2 of the panels broke. Luckily, I was able to glue them back together, but I just haven't been the same since, and I'd love to get it repaired. Do you have any suggestions as to who may be able to fix it? My concern is that the panels are curved. Otherwise, I would just have some new panels cut from different slag glass.
I tried reaching out to Meyda Tiffany as I live about 30 minutes from them in Utica, NY, but I got no response.
You're the best.
I have a question on Lladro's. Do they come in original box's made just for the piece? If so how does NOT having the box effect the value? I was just thinking about this tonight while watching an auction.
A lot did come boxed and they will sell a little higher with the box
@@TheAntiqueNomad Thank you for the answer. I'm probable better off not buying Lladro's since my knowledge is so lacking, but info is always good just incase running into a great deal.
Who was the book dealer you focused on with the pop ups. Please let me know
Oh boy things just sit and sit high price items.
I think that too, but then my sales there are always good, and so are those of a lot of the high end dealers
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wow all beautiful things but things will sit sit sit on shelves most people don’t buy this stuff. DOLLAR STORE PEOPLE LOL
Honestly, they sell more than I would imagine at this show. There's a wealthy class that isn't phased by prices
What is "insensitive" about a black guy statue?
Those purses are warped and twisted. Very ghoulish. Shld be illegal to sell those horrendous sicknesses. Takes a sick mind.
Just curious ... all of our Business suffered, especially the markets and Shows, during the PLANdemic ... If you were so glad to have this Show back ... why are you wearing that pointless bandanna/ mask ... They never protected anyone and just keeps the whole PSY-OP going ?
For an intelligent man ... That is disappointing ...
No need to bring up personal conspiracy theories. Just enjoy antiques and vintage.
Despite the current hype coming from the governor's office that Florida was a mask-free haven during Covid, the reality was that there were great restrictions at public events set by the (same) governor's office. So I can't speak to why we were required to have them, but we were.
