- In this episode of the AutoEdits 1973 Ford Mustang muscle car build up, we shake down "Large Marge" around town with my super cute co- dog Pinto... then I'll take you to a local tire shop for the suspension alignment and some dial in... and from there head straight to the local canyon roads to push this car to the limits and find out what she's got.
Spoiler alert... SHE'S GOT A LOT!!!
The Total Control Products coil-over suspension combined with the rack and pinion steering setup has created an absolute razor sharp weapon on the road.

I was completely surprised by how well this car handled the rough roads near me in Southern California. Winter was really hard on the terrain and the potholes were in full effect but this car didn't care.
Even without any tuning yet, the Holley Terminator EFI was easy enough to figure out to run the ignition, fuel management, and cooling fans on the beefy BeCool Radiator. The junkyard 5.0 Cobra engine in Large Marge ran strong and never got above 195 degrees! Here's a link to the Holley parts www.holley.com/products/fuel_...
Plus, here's a link to the BeCool Radiator kit I installed:

The thing I get asked about most is what wheels I have on the Mustang and those would be the LT III from ET Wheels www.etmags.com/lt_iii.html
The are 17x9 in front and 18x10 in the rear.
There are so many other parts to highlight and feature so stay tuned for all of the great videos to come... including road trip adventures in this thing!!!
Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe and share this video... also you can go back through the build playlist here to check out almost all of the installs involved in this project! • Classic Ford Mustang B...
ENJOY YOUR DRIVE!
*** I do want to make a clear point that in any of the scenes of the video that show "sporty" driving, the roads were spotted and made sure to be completely clear. I would never put my fellow motorists in danger by driving recklessly on a populated roadway and neither should you!

Not gonna lie watching you get excited and overwhelmed with joy had me smiling almost the whole video. It's so cool to see her on the road finally ripping it up. 🤘
I'm so glad to hear this... means I did what I wanted with the video! Thanks!
Wheel, tire combo, stance is right on!
Yes, I'm loving the stagger!
Yes, I'm loving the stagger!
You may have mentioned it but what is the wheel tire combo
So happy for you Jason. This came out great. I had a 73 Mustang. The 71-73 is the most different Mustang of any Mustangs that there ever were.
This is one of the coolest ones I have ever seen.
Love it!
I appreciate hearing this... I'm starting to think so too but I also bled into this project...LOL
My first car was a ‘73 Mustang. Now I want another one!
They are definitely an "acquired taste" LOL
Mine too! I’m trying to pick one up this week 🙏🏼
Just got one, you should
My dad had one when he was a very young man, he has talked about a Mach 1 with the 351 engine my whole life.. he is now pretty old and recently been in a terrible accident.. I’m planning on getting one of these to give my dad some smiles after going through so much.. now how do I convince the wife 💭
Man this car rips! Loved watching you gun it through those windy roads! 🤙 sick build!!! I love it man
It came out awesome! You're going to love the blower, it makes it a whole different animal! Incidentally, adding the 174 on my car made the exhaust about 50% louder with no other changes.
YIKES!
Never thought I’d say this .. but that’s one badass 73’ Mustang
It's all good... I feel the same and am in love with how weird and wonderful this thing is!
Not just a mustang it's a GRANDE! Had one years ago loved it!
Dude love your mustang videos! found this one a few days and then went back and watched your whole playlist of it. Ive got a 73 convertible with an older windsor swap and ive had the car apart and together a million times through the years lol. about five years ago i decided to buckle down and tear it down and start building it the way ive always wanted.... then had to get a shoulder surgery. long break. had a kid. long break. just got it running again 2 days ago and ready to start finding all pieces parts and get back at it! your videos have been a huge motivation to bring her back alive!
So happy to hear this! Sorry about the surgery but happy about the family and everything else!
what a beautiful puppy and what a nice Mach 1 ….I love both. specially that nice puppy ...God bless you and your good baby (puppy)
Thank you very much!
Pinto the dog , Pinto the står of the show !
Well done Jason !
Yes she is! Thanks dude!
After following this for years it’s so nice to see Marge done!!!
It's far from done but it's a driver and that is pretty dang good too!
OMG, I so want to get my hands on this thing and tune it for you. For the youngins out there, no disrespect, but this is what it's like to physically DRIVE a car and how I learned to get my license. It's an active experience that commands your attention. Today's cars it's more like we ride in them. They isolate you way too much from the overall enjoyment of driving the vehicle.
Hey, you do engine tuning? I can send you a file... but I was going to take it to a local dyno shop.
I absolutely love and appreciate what you’ve done with this car. It’s got a Mad Max vibe that I really like. A 71-73 Mustang is what they originally wanted for that movie.
This whip is a loud, fast, handling brut with everything you need and nothing you don’t want 👍🏼 Watching that suspension work and the camera angles were really awesome. I had to watch it twice and edit my comment. What an incredible direction you took this build. The style of this car is underrated. I like it a lot more than the fastback. Just something about the lines. and the stance that you’ve created is so much better than stock.👍🏼Thanks for sharing! 👊🏼👍🏼
I can't tell you how much this comment means... you really appreciate the details! Thanks for checking it out!
Aren't the 60s Mustang the best ???
Great job on the Mustang. Great to see you out and enjoying it!
Thanks so much!
Pinto needs some goggles to keep the wind out of her eyes.
Truth!
I'm so happy for you. From car guy to car guy, I know how great it is to have a sexy fun ride.
Thanks!
So glad to see guys taking these older cars and giving them new life! That car looks like loads of fun.
It is very rewarding to restore something and give it a whole new life!
Dear god that car and that dog are gorgeous
Thanks so much!!!
Love the starter sound @17:15! Almost sounds like a Chrysler gear reduction starter.
Love this video brother. So cool to watch you reap the rewards of all the work you put in. I have a convertible 71 and she’s a looker….but does NOT race like Large Marge. 😊💪🏽
It’s great you can see out your back window!
Yeah, that's what I hear about those good lookin fastbacks... miles of glass but no visibility!
Awesome to see large marge finally on the road.
I have a 2015 wrangler, watching your videos over the last yr and a half inspired me to purchase a 1973 mach 1 last Friday! Keep up the awesome videos!!
That is awesome!
That's a happy puppy right there!
Yes she is... and a happy human as well!
All that hard work paid off! Nice work buddy!!!
Yes!!!!
I love the sounds, Don't change a thing.
You're the best!
My first car was 72, Mercury Cougar hardtop. 351C V8, H-code, FMX-Automatic, 9" 2.75:1, Open, (conventional) non-posi. Great one wheel burn out machine.
Thanks for sharing!
i've been popping in for updates on the Mustang over the years, so happy to see it on the road again!
Glad you came back around in time for this one!
I have a 73 mustang that i'm currently building and watching these videos have me extremely excited
Glad to hear this... keep at it and good luck!
I definitely appreciate you
My dad and I bought a 73 fastback in 86, we worked on it a lot but didn’t have the parts you have, it is still the most fun car I have ever driven. Yours it’s very cool!
Great to hear!
Favorite part of video are the shots of Pinto enjoying the ride.
Second favorite part is seeing this beast up and running.
Mine too! LOL
Glad to see the Mustang on the road Jason. 👍🤘
ME TOOOOOO! Heck yes!
A really cool ride, congrats on all the hard work.
Thank you very much!
I like the way your car looks. Nice stance and the wheel and paint combo go nice together.
Thanks 👍
that car is bad ass Jason! congrats on that beauty!
Thank you!
Smiling ear to ear watching you and Pinto cruising around in LM! Cheers and congrats, man.
It does make me happy on a next level to look over at Pinto the Dog enjoying the drive!
Wow! Beautiful Car! Jeep and Mustang, 2 great American ICONS. That’s why I love your channel!
Awesome to hear!
Glad to see Large Marge back on the road.
It feels great and is a ton of fun!
Pinto looks like a great buddy.
She’s the best! I’m thankful
Damn nice car Sir! I love that you picked a model that gets overlooked but you nailed it!
HA! Thanks! This car kind of picked me and I'm pretty happy about that at this point!
I've been waiting for this day! Your pain and leadership makes it so much easier for me to follow. I'm currently working on my TCP rack and pinion installation right now. Also mocking up different motor mounts, setting up for the C6(it was a C4), and I just got my Gear Vendors in last week. I am also cutting and replacing metal so the process is going slower than I would like yet it must be done. Also helping a local neighborhood kid with his 260 and my buddy resurrect his 65 K Code. Busy, busy, busy... can't wait to get to where you are now. That reminds me... I need to post some more videos on my progress as well. And I really do like those wheels! Looking forward to seeing your updates!
That is a lot going on over there for you! Thanks for checking in on this project!
Glad you finally got this thing out of the garage. I'll be starting my own 65 coup pretty soon
I'm happy as well... good luck on your project!
Been following this build since the beginning and this was AWESOME to watch. Congrats on a killer new ride!
Yeah buddy, thank you!
I’ve been watching since mid ‘16 and it’s so awesome to see large marge rippin the streets!
Thanks!!!
That thing sounds sweet. I grew up around these mustangs and other years. All my Uncles and my Dad daily drove and raced Mustangs. My 91 was an 11+ second car.
Nice!
So happy to see you out cruising it!!!
Wow, right!!!!!
I just got a 72 coupe doesn't run but so far loving her more than every other generation
Enjoy your project!!!
Dude, I am so stoked for you! This the kind of motivation I need for my Cutlass. I can't wait till I can go for a drive with my dog!
I'm so glad to share and this and you "get it" that this project crosses over to any dude (and dog) and project car!
Cool Guy, Cool Dog, Cool Car!
Thanks dude!
Man, Marge sounds FANTASTIC!! I've been following since the beginning, or at least pretty close. I only had to go back and watch a few vids to catch up. I am ecstatic for you to see her back on the road. Good to see Pinto likes her too. Thank you for making one last check on you tube worth my while tonight.
Well, thank you... I appreciate that you watch when you do! I'm digging the car so far!
@@AutoEdits No, Thank You! We're all digging your work and your down to earth approach.
I came across this Playlist looking for information and real owner reviews of the TCP suspension. Its been a long time coming but I can tell by the ear to ear grin, it was worth it. Thanks for doing these videos (yes I have watched them all so far) lots of good stuff in this series.
Glad it was helpful! Please subscribe and Howdy! Yes, this car is proving to be an amazing driver directly because of the components from TCP. No joke.
This model is one of my favorite Mustangs. You have made it the dream come through. God bless and enjoy. I would love to see more videos.
Thank you so much! I hope to get more done soon!
Well Done Jason !!! Bullit's got noth'in on you and Large Marge, Steve Mc Queen would be proud !
This made me so happy to read!!!
I really enjoyed this video! It looks like you've got the Mustang setup perfectly for the real world driving that you'll be doing with the car. Perfection!
It's a lot of fun. Thanks for the comment!
Now THIS is what I've been WAITING FOR!
Me too!
Juste WOW!!! Bravo Jason
Many thanks!!!
Oh my...I really enjoyed that. Thanks!!
I'm really happy to hear this... thank you so much for the watch and the nice comment!
Been waiting for this one!!!
Here you go! Hope you like it... was fun making it!
Watching you get this excited has made me equally excited …. Nice build !
Thanks so much. I ended up having to selling it before it was finished but loved driving the thing.
FINALLY!!!! The video we've all been waiting for! "We" being those of us that appreciate all your vehicles!
"Docile" then you rev it up! ha ha ha ha
LOL
Man, I so appreciate this! Thank you!!!
@@AutoEdits I still miss your ole WJ. That's the vehicle I sound your channel on.

So happy for you man. I’ve watched the Large Marge series since Day 1
NO WAY! Thanks so much for sticking it out that long!
@@AutoEdits I was there for the V10 Viper Maverick project and my favorite car ever is the Mustang so... you know. Now you make me wanna buy a 73 Coupe. You made them cool :)

This video gave me life!!! Great job in the car!
Ah! Love to see this !!!!
Great video! Congrats on finally having it on the Road! Love the sound those Flows make, definetly an inspiration to keep working on My 74 firebird!.
I'm glad to hear this... I really do hope to help people no matter what kind of project they have. This one was an extreme struggle at times but I'm thrilled with it!
I’ll be the one to tell you that your editing style is similar to that of Quentin Tarantino. Lol the way you zoom in and pan the camera just a little. It’s definitely not random I can tell u really take your time editing 👌 🎥
This is really nice to hear! Thanks so much for appreciating the effort I put into my "style" and taking a moment to leave a comment!!!
Jason, The stance and sound are second to none and that might be the best looking 71-3 Mustang Coupe around, nice job on this one!
HAHA! Thanks so much! I've seen a couple that are pretty nice but to be honest... they missed the stance/wheel package on the both.
Very nice, she sounds great.
Thanks!
It's Marge, Pinto and Jason time!
HAHA! Thank you so much!
@@AutoEdits You're have way too much fun! Enjoy!

Nice to see you and pinto enjoying the mustang 👍
It's fairly rewarding... thanks for giving it a watch!
Seems like the journey was worth it. Love that you're driving it hard.
Yes it is... and it's going to get better!
Love that stand! Great job dude!
I'm digging it as well, thanks!
@@AutoEdits i first found u when u had a jeep and had a lift indtalled and went thru the backroad mtns from reno to socal and blew ur muffler! You also took it camping withba guy named Todd who had a nice older toyota setup. Love ur vids bro!
That stance is perfect! Awesome video.
Thanks! I'm really proud of how it sits!
Great news! Large Marge eating up the road. It looks and sounds great.
Yeahhhh! Thanks!
Glad to see your hard work pay off
It really did, thanks for coming along for the ride!
Man I'm so glad you got the Mustang back on the road. I know the project car thing can get super frustrating and it would've been easy to put it on the back burner and forget about it, but you actually followed through. Super happy for you! The car is amazing!
It was very tough at times but I am so happy and proud at this moment!
Bro where did u get the headlights I love them
Heck yes! so pumped for this one
Thanks for sticking around!
Wow... how addictive is that exhaust... amazing. I saw a car, same yr for sale... man.. im going to go check it out
Not a 1973 Ford Falcon GT, but with a supercharger that you mentioned...Mad Max territory. Super fun!
That was part of the inspiration behind that supercharger!
Congrats on a project well done.... The car is amazing.... Love the rest drive
Thanks!
Outstanding work, my friend. You've reminded me of the end goal for all these projects - get out there and run the snot out of them.
David
I thought of you and Harry during this... I'm sure we'll see a similar video of you two but in a MUCH nicer car..LOL
I bet you still have a smile on your face after that ride...congrats!!
You would win that bet! LOL

Hey thanks for the suggestion! I'll look them up.
Excelente trabajo ! Love your work !
Muchas Gracias!
I'm LOVING thos Pinto shots.
But seriously, I found you and subscribed for the Mustang. You are living a dream of mine. I couldn't be happier for you, that's a beautiful car.
Awesome to hear... Pinto the Dog is a VERY important part of the process for me so I'm glad someone else out there appreciates that I like sharing the drive with her!
@@AutoEdits Absolutely! I've been watching you for a little over 4 years now and I've come to love Pinto. My two pups are just they same (except maybe a little wilder... lol)
LOOKS LIke A Winner bro...Nice Job!!!
I'm loving it... thanks!
This is great! It's been awhile since I've been on the channel. You got me started since you gutted it and started doing the plumbing. It looks great... So fresh and so clean! 👌 Awesome job! 👍🏼 😁 So happy for you, man!
Thank you!
@@AutoEdits can't believe it's been 5 yrs! I'm gonna have to go back to those vids when I start my project.... Triumph GT6 but I want fit up a 302 engine and use your vids as inspiration and a guide! 😉😀
