For some reason he looks like conan the barbarian to me and now im seeing conan the barbarian walking like hes going to talk to the guy who hit on his daughter.
Simon looks like he's grumbling as he walks. Simon: "Grumble. Grumble. Stupid vampires. I could be home watching the game instead I got to deal with this nonsense. Grumble. Grumble."
The actual depictions as portraits on stage 5... effin brilliant! Man this was awesome, and didn't lose one bit of the original smooth gameplay, enemy mechanics, and difficulty. Well done. I desire to play this version xD
Excellent selection of monster movie clips you chose to accompany this gameplay. When ever I played games as kid; I would always have images of similarly themed movies to accompany the games I olayed. The movies you chose were some of those I saw and imagined while playing this game myself.
Wow i remember spending like $50 for that original catridge back in the 80's. That last stage had me throwing the controller too. Back then i was like 11
Take my money. This looks sounds an feel amazing absolute great job keeping the 8 bit towch. I would love something like this on ghost n goblins original arcade game. Thanks for the video
Very cool! The graphics are definitely updated and look beautiful, while still retaining enough the original, that one cannot mistake this game for something not Castlevania.
@Leche' Flandre this is a texture pack over a nes game. As much as it can be changed, it still is a nes game, so what you guys are asking is out of the question for this kind of project.
Modern? There is more time between the those and the last Castlevania released than the original and SotN. SotN is over 20 years old and CotM is right behind it.

Cool graphics and music for the original CastleVania game. Specially enjoyed the stage 2 music the most I wanna know if I can play it on a emulator for smartphones
@@kurosbelmont2355 you can actually modify the music to your liking, by replacing the songs with whichever you like in the emulator files I believe (it has been a minute since I've played this hack so I don't quite remember). The character sprites, however, are fixed, and I personally don't really like how they look. Still I feel this hack was a good effort.
In the bottom right of the screen there is the small screen showing scenes from horror movies. What is the one with the grim reaper just before Van Helsing as a werewolf?
Can’t wait to see the supermariobros bros series do get such treatment,, this is mind blowing, also i do like how those nes sound effects has been kept intact.
Morgan Feldon yes i did , my whole lifetime, but i wonder how those nes versions will look & sound like with such treatment, who ever know that game dev’s could do the same thing with their roms, just using a special emulator and adding patches to their old roms to make them look & sound more modern on modern consoles ,infact i was always imagening such thing even back in the 90’s.
That might be because he didn't make all (or any) of the music. I recognize the Vampire Killer theme from FalKKonE. So it is harder for him to properly fit it 100% to the gameplay.
Trick With Holy Water in Frankenstein level with the birds dropping Igors. Simply throw your holy water as you walk forward once you pass the first few birds. As you keep walking just keep throwing the holy water...the attack animation will continue even as you walk through it....the Igors will kill themselves running right into it behind you as you waltz yourself to the bonedragon just before the boss. With practice and timing you'll never take damage again. You can use this holy water walk trick in alot of places including Deaths Hallway. Makes it oh so easy.
If they made this downloadable for the psn, take my money! I have been a long time Castlevania fan since the Nintendo days! I would play the hell outta this!
Lunatix or anyone who has this running: I have the US rom working in Mesen with no priblem, the HD patch worked perfectly and having no issues with the graphics, however, the new music (oggs) are not playing, It's playing the reg nes soundtrack. I've tried everything I can think of and the ogg files are in the directory under HDPacks/romname with the png files. Do I have to set something or alter a file to tell Mesen to use them? Help!
Solved: Must be the exact CV rom that the readme states in the HDpack zip file. In my case, since I want to use the USA version, it must be either PRG0 or PRG1 roms for both music and graphics to work. I had sites claiming roms were the USA versions but only the graphics were patched, not the soundtrack. Googled for PRG version specific and once I tried that one after apply HDPack: success! For anyone who has the same issue, that's why. In the end, it's the rom.

To download search in google castlevania messen hd pack.

Yeah... definitely a "hold my beer" kind of walk. 🤣
He does have that get back here boy walk going on 😂
He walks with a limp. He hurt his leg hopping the gate on the way in.
Simon looks like he's grumbling as he walks.
Simon: "Grumble. Grumble. Stupid vampires. I could be home watching the game instead I got to deal with this nonsense. Grumble. Grumble."
More like "I'm just here in this random castle out of nowhere because I need to go to the comfort room ASAP"
Looks like he needs to take a dump somehwere in the castle.
Rasafrasan Giant Bat, stupid axe. I wanted the cross, whatever.
So true 😂😂😂
I think the survival of humanity is more important than a soccer game
This is how I would imagine a "Castlevania All Stars" on the SNES.
What a fantastic idea
add parallax backgrounds and you'd be very close to home, i think. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY< KONAMI!!!
The awsome part about this is that while it looks and sounds diffrent you can still see the core game. Well done.
That's because it's the same game.
Yeah it’s a texture pack for a Nintendo game nes
The giant bat looks like a flying gremlin and that is awesome. Love the groovy second stage track remix.

@Flandre Scarlet to me, a lot of the fun is imagining a huge castle that you have to travel through and kill monsters to get to Dracula.
Hey Dracula, Frankenstein called, and he wants his head back.
* Simon tosses Dracula's head off *
Frankenstein: Thanks.
By far, the most, epicly awesomest thing, EVER! Very very good work.
that Frankenstein boss killed me many times when I was young.
First time I noticed that holy water makes a big part of the job
Elvis Robot Beta Holy Water is the best weapon on Frankenstein and Igor😉
@Leche' Flandre but he teleports randomly and eventually hitting you from where you stand.

Me too😄
I got this and Bayou Billy on sale for $20. Guess which become a classic and which infamous.
the grim reaper was so cheap!!!
Ah yes. I remember many controllers being thrown across my room for Castlevania and many other overly difficult games back in those days.
Man 2019, the last good year humanity will have.
Wdym “the last”?

The sound track is definitely ahead of its time

Can't help but notice the great music, and afew jams from OC remix in the blend to. Good ol wicked child.
In that second stage i dont know why i was kinda expecting Michael Jackson to suddenly pop up in the screen lol
I agree , what's up with the brakedance music .
It's just tradition to click on any CASTLEVANIA related stuff every Halloween... i wonder who's here in 2021 XD

22:40 That background would make the NES explode. Also that track during the end credits is amazing.
Yes but the windows look unfinished they should have been stained glass or see-through
Instead of a picture of dracula himself, it'd be funny if it was a selfie pic of him and death drinking a 🍺 at the pub.
Very nice. Quite the update to a game from many of our childhoods.
Yo, that version of 'Out of Time' is legit.
wonderful rendition of the original NES game! You played it very well !

Good work in combing Simon from the 1st game into Simon from Super Castlevania and keeping the original sound effects!
More like Simon from Castlevania Chronicles
So hard to beat... But you definitely earn it when you finally do! One of my all time favorites...

What is this version of Out of Time that is used for Clock Tower? I don't recall hearing this arrangement anywhere else.
