6:53 7 minutes into RSX Review and Chill and he gives you this look.
LOL
Talis lmao
Lmfao I died
Let's turn on to this Back right here; HMMMMMM.................
210HP on that 2006 Type S model. With very minimal modification. Short shifter, intake, Coilovers. You'll have one of the most fun to drive cars ever made. A lot of people would agree with me on that one. That's why I bought one lol.
Completely agree. Found an 05 for cheap when I wanted to buy my first car. RSX got me into cars. Miss my vTec.
If you want to play it technical then the 2002-2004 Type s is 191. As the regulations were when this car was released its 210 for the 05-06 and 201 for the 02-04
You're looking at it way too technical lol, if you were to dyno both stock for stock brand new, the 05-06 would have a minimum of a 5 WHP difference
Glad you looked it up! 05-06 is also faster because of the shorter gear ratios ! Not just power. So I feel the 05 06 is better bang for your buck, stronger leather interior as well. Never been disappointed with mine and never let me down. Owned it for 4 years (:
All my S2000 friends get mad when I beat them in a race 😂 but s2000 is one of the best drivers car there is. Depends what you're looking for
So what if he gets excited from the 200hp he is having fun and can appreciate the car for what it is thats all that matters
Hands down... the number one reason why I watch this guy is because of his reaction to what he drives. You can tell that he truly loves all cars. I'm looking forward to your future videos
I tell people all the time, Vtec is fucking fun even if you're going slow af LOL. Puts a smile on my face everytime.
Agreed!
Fun for a little kid
Bro ur underaged please dont talk
Jazerpop Right lol...
Heartagram Yeah i know im right , thanks
the look he gives when he hits the backroads ....... you can tell this guys a speedaholic
Dang 🤦🏻♂️😭😂
i wish Acura would build this car again.
pontiacGXPfan me too 😔
Why did they discontinue it?
They discontinued it after the Si started have better performance in it's stock form. That's why this ended in '06 because the 6th gen Si came out. I love the RSX and Integra, but it won't come back considering we have a turbo Si and now the Type R.
@@marcellomori3264 Wrong. they ended production because Acura had no room for a "boy racer" type car in their lineup. They wanted to be known as a luxury brand so they discontinued the RSX, which was a shame
@@takemyzed5727 All they would have to do is drop the "Acura RSX" and revert to the original Honda Integra. Boy racer is what the si/type r crew is all about.
Shame Honda doesn't make cars like this anymore....
The si is pretty cool too ,but I'm in love my type slow.😍😍
New Type R is a beast and the NSX is as well... But yeah
@Jonathan Losito Honda also stopped the manual transmission Accords and discontinued the V6 option on the Accord a few years ago.
If only y’all knew the disappointment that would come
@@ethanndacut8515 I wonder how they’re doing now lol
I could see this guy flipping his shit flooring a golf cart.
Robert FrownyJr hes already reviewed a golf cart before xD
+corey IRONIXCZ 200hp 2700 pounds.
***** Yes the RSX r had a killer engine. It is quicker than my brz balls out..
fatboy19831 Nice looking car ya got there.
Evan Baker lmfao I'm dead
Wow. It still looks pretty good 10 years later.
This was two years ago, not ten years later
+Ivan Ascencio Lol the car. The car.
The car itself is 10-years-old, though.
+thomasisnotatrain this is a 2006 car. At the time of this filming it was 2014. Do you get that it's 8 years and not 10 years later???
Yeah I realized that afterwards haha
Best part of your videos:

"Let's turn on to this back road here, and see how it does..."
"Hehehehe ooohhhhh"

👍 haha yall should collab lol
Damn look at where tj is now
Damn man changed leagues
Gotta love that VTEC!!!
Yeah Son 81 oh he was loving it lol.
i got this car about a month ago not knowing anything about driving stick. It has been amazing learning in it and how awesome and great this car is. I totally recommend for a first car and a perfect car to learn manuel driving in.
I learned how to drive stick in this car too! A year later and I'm banging gears in this car all the time. I love it and plan to keep it as long as possible.
Is any car a cop magnet? You'll be fine driving this car. The only thing that would make it a "cop magnet" is if you put on some stupid loud exhaust.
The things that could make it a cop magnet is window tint very dark, how loud the vehicule is and more importantly how you drive take it slow but honestly the car is so much fun your always going to want to have i-vtec engaged lol. If anything do what i did and bye a police scanner, evertime mines goes off i slow down. But you should be fine just be save.
Yeah he's right about all of those. I have a moderately loud exhaust but cops have never given me trouble for it since it's pretty civilized in most throttle positions. And this car is really fun to rev up and run through the gears lol. Make sure you get a Type S or 5 speed base!
if anyone have a loud exhaust just drive on higher gear,or when you pass a cop press the clutch so the car crusing on idle rpm
My first little "sports" car was an 2004 type -s. I fell in love with the engine as well. I wish they would've kept them around. I dont' think you ever forget your first tuner car.
BRING BACK THE RSX!!!
MrJohnny583 too bad maybe it'll look kinda futuristic
Bring back the prelude
yes
Bring back the S2000 too!
Looks like your wish may be answered. Probably won’t have a manual though
would you (or anyone) recommend this for a first car?
YES! My good friend has one and oh man this car is a monster! Just make sure it's a manual not an auto
Trevor Phillips I don't think they come in auto anyways. But good to hear!
Yes it's a Honda best car u can buy
Import the base rsx came with an auto and the kbb a little higher than the manul actually. type s is manual only.
Yes this would be the perfect first car in fact, good power band as you can see good on gas its a four banger FWD economical and good in the snow rain etc and price range for these is about-5k-8k in good condition plus its a Honda do all your oil changes well and your good to go buddy !
am i the only one who thinks this guy is weird when he goes fast
No, no you're not
Yeah. Actually, i'm an old subscriber of him. And I actually just realized he goes weird when i saw this comment. Appreciate it man!
+Usman Sohail dude had an orgasm just getting it up to 60mph
+Usman Sohail OOUHHHH MA

In every review video, “So lets turn onto this backroad here” 😂 I love his reviews.
Damn I remember watching this video about 5 yrs ago when it came out. Here I am again watching this and staring out the window to my Rsx! Thanks for the great video! This video was the reason why I fell in love with the Rsx’s.
That's awesome! Congrats on getting yours!
You gotta keep in mind that you're driving a car that's over a decade old and has been driven on for that amount of time. The suspension will be completely gone by then, as will the brakes (not that they were great to begin with), but having been an owner of a 2006 Type-S, it handles like a dream in terms of cornering capability, especially with the A-Spec suspension, which is the perfect amount of lowering btw, until you put about 25K on the suspension and then it's pretty much gone at that point. You'll need to get new shocks/springs and at that point I'd recommend sway bar upgrades and strut towers, but that's kinda the point with the Type-S...it's not quite a Type-R, so you need to modify it to bring out its potential. It's a fantastic platform, but it needs some extras to really reap the rewards that this car and offer.
In the end, in retrospect, I really wish it was a Type-R. That is the car I wanted. The Type-S was a bit of a tease. Yeah, it gave us the motor, but we really wanted the rest of it too (suspension, brakes, interior, tuning, etc.). Unfortunately for us in the USA, Honda never released the Type-R here, so we were forced to get Type-S's and modify.
So, if you are looking for a daily driver that offers a bit of power that you can rip on from time to rim, then this is the car for you. If you are looking for a daily driver that you can modify with some basic bolt-ons and can offer you a great driving experience, this is the car for you. If you are looking for a platform for a race car, which you will have to heavily modify, but by doing so, will reward you with one of the greatest naturally aspirated driving experiences ever, then this is the car for you.
HOWEVER, who this car isn't for, are those who are looking for a performance vehicle out of the gate, with no need for modifications. If that's what you want, then this car is definitely NOT for you. It is also not for the type of person who thinks that Turbo charging is the greatest thing in the world and must be applied to every vehicle ever (I used to be one of these people having built and tuned a 2nd gen AWD Turbo Eclipse from the ground up), then this is not the car for you.
I try, time and again to tell people who are looking at turbo-ing an RSX that the motor wasn't intended to handle boost. It was meant to be a NA engine and as such, should be left that way. If you are going to boost a K20, you're playing with fire and disaster is imminent. Sure enough, every single person I know who has turboed their RSX has blown the motor, even after rebuilding it with forged internals.
Again, a K20 was meant to be NA, keep it NA and it will reward you with NA greatness. If you want the experience of a turbo charger, then go with a motor that was designed for it. Go with a 4G63, SR20DET, 2JZ-GTE, 1.8T, etc. But honestly, after coming from the world of Turbo charging, having made fun of the Honda boys and their VTECing idiocy, then purchasing a Type-S, I've come to understand the love for VTEC. I now have complete respect for the VTEC system and the motors made with it. To this day, Honda's application of Valve timing remains the most exciting and only system where you can actually feel it working, especially in the previous generation models, such as the Integra Type-R.
MLSCrow what does NA mean ?

I can tell you really enjoy what you do. Your enthusiasm shows in every video/reaction that you do. Keep it up man, I look forward to seeing more.
I REALLY love how you do the opening to your videos, the music with the different angles and views of the car makes the videos more fun to watch. Also I really liked how you showed the key and transmission. I'm one of those people who like to see every detail of the car. Best video yet, very nice car! 👍
You can put the rear seats down and it will fit a twin size blow up mattress and you can sleep back there. Don't ask me how I know lol.
Looking forward to buying one of these as a first car!
David garcia u get it?
Same or either an Audi s4
Giovanni Ruiz rsx is why more reliable tho
I love how much fun he has with his reviews. Makes me wanna go out and buy a new car
Your reaction whenever you get into the power band of the car always makes me smile nice review bro.
If your gonna ask if this is a good first car, let me tell you this car is awesome and you would be lucky to have it for ur first car. My first car was a pos 1983 chevy sprint that was older than me lol
I have this car (2005 Type-S) with the blue a-spec spoiler. It'll be 10 yrs old in February with 120K miles. The first few years of ownership it was a fun car for sure. It still is fun but the lack of torque has caught up to outweighing the fun. I have Injen Cold Air Intake, and I must say when people piss me off on road or cut me off, I simply VTEC right around them and that usually scares them. The noise this car makes when it changes over at 5800 rpm is sweet. For speed, it is slow. If you get aftermarket ceramic brakes, the brakes do work really well. I'm surprised about your comment regarding handling because it handles better than my bro's '05 WRX but compared to Si's LSD I understand. I would disagree with storage space. The car has no armrest extension which is a rather huge bummer. Fun fact, the car does have 5 cup holders for a 2+2 seat which is weird. Two under the radio, the middle one behind e-brake and rear sidewalls. Go figure!
Thanks for reviewing an RSX Type-S. I have been thinking about purchasing one as a daily driver for some time now. Based on your reactions, I will likely purchase one and leave my 1992 MR2 as a weekend toy. I have been following your channel from the beginning and it is only getting better. Your channel is one of my favorites in all of youtube. Keep it up, bro!!!
My favorite feature of all your videos is your reaction to the power when you acceerate. i could tell you really like cars- it's priceless!
That intake is sitting so far into his engine bay lmao.
Nice Scorching hot air intake, losing a couple HP.
I had a 97 Integra GSR, b18c5, wicked fun to rev over 8000rpm. Not the fastest cars in the world but man Honda can build some of the funnest.
+iDrive4fun93 lol same here dude. I had the dark green sedan. It had that authentic honda smell. Oh how I miss it.
+Rufio In I miss mine. But mine was a total lemon, it had so many issues lol. I ended up spending over twice as much in repairs than what I paid for it. Then I blew the motor again and got rid of it.
+Rufio In it was fun though, creep along in first gear, unassumingly, don't mind me, just cruisin here, and then I would smash the throttle, both front tires would break loose as the engine redlined immediately, sucking in air like an elephant that just did a 400m sprint, The intake sound would completely drown out the exhaust, hit second, keep the tires spinning for a few more seconds, it would grip, and I would be gone. So much fun on how fast the engine revved, and how willingly and freely it did so. Thats what makes them so much fun imo.

Back-road - accelerates - laughs and smiles. Makes my day bro. Nice vid
I always watch this because I have this car and just seeing how much fun you have with it makes me proud to own one
I have a rsx and loves it have 200,000 and still handles like a champ. It's funny cause my girl bout a 2013 Chevy cruise and it broke down twice. Acura rsx 0

Its not 200 horses hes excited about.. Its the feeling of Vtec!
yup, poormans turbo. love it
That was really fun to watch, thanks dude. I own a 02 RSX-S at 285,000 km; reliable and still fun to drive to this day.
Hey dude I'm glad you made comparisons to the Si in this video as I'm debating between getting this or an Si for my first stick. Also, I love how excited you get when you accelerate.
I have the same make and model and I love it!
I think you were pretty spot on with the review. Engine and shifter is the highlight of the car. With a good set of summer tires and a different suspension setup, the car handles extremely well for a fwd car. You also caught my only dislike about the car, the brakes lol nothing too bad. Great review :)
Got an 06 type s as my first car, I love it!
Glad you got to review this one too finally. I can safely cross it off my list of contenders now. If I wanted to play with vtec the S2k is for sure the direction I'd go in, good to feel informed
Finally I've been waiting for someone to make a review video on an 05-06 acura rsx type s in blaze orange. Thanks man :)

Omg you actually reviewed this car thanks man I really appreciate it thanks for reviewing this car I'm a huge fan of your videos keep it up
was looking for rsx review in the channel few days ago, and here just showed up!!! nice vid. really reminds me a lot of my 1st car 2002 rxs.
i loved the moment he gets impressed and starts laughing outta excitement :)
Civic si has factory LSD that's why the handling and pushing through turns is better...
Your videos are awesome, man. The way you react to VTEC is priceless. Just like in the S2000 video.
This is one of the best car reviews u did keep it up
I owned of these for 7 years....racked up 110k miles....and its better than my 2011 mustang gt performance package. It may not be the best handling, or the fastest, but it had a higher build quality and responded well to mods. Would recommend the RSX-S to any enthusiast. It is SO fun to drive, while also being comfortable and reasonably luxurious. In fact, with a Jackson racing supercharger sans intercooler I ran a 13.2 @ 116 mph on stock internals for about 80k miles. Sold it for 7k when I became a dad, and I regret it. If you own one, hang on to it because one day these will be highly desirable.
I feel ya man... I got mine in 06 brand new....
When I was 15 with the help of my parents.....
Till this day it has only 28k original miles on it..... and modded to the max jdm style lol.... all motor build .... I hope you are right.... that's what i think too it will be desirable one day I'm just waiting patiently
My 2008 Civic Si coupe has 15k miles on it. I’ll never sell it.
I have a 2005 type-s and its a blast , wouldn't trade it for any other Honda unless it's a s2k lol. But yeah simple aftermarket parts make this car a total beast! The car would definitely handle better lowered and with better tires. Also a simple Hondata REFLASH would make the lack of the low end torque soooo much better. K20z1 FTW!!! :D. Nice review btw, duces.
Wonderful video man, I really enjoy watching your videos because I can tell you really enjoy driving the cars, and making the videos.
Keep on making them and I'll keep on watching them :)
thank you so much for the review! love ur channel.. i was really excited to find a review of this car
when you get on it it looks like your gonna blow your wad man
sell the coopers s and get the RSX
I've owned my 2003 Type-S for just over 6 months now and I love it. Everything stock but it gives a good thrill when needed.
Awesome review matt, good to see you got to review a RSX
I don't know what hondas you've driven but all of the new Hondas I've owned have had a long clutch as you refer to or in other words all have pulled from the floor. And honda civic and RSX, no one needs to tell anyone who knows that the RSX is a nicer car. The car responds to mods extremely well. If you just add a 3" inch exhaust, good header, CAI intake and RBC with a tuned kpro to the tune of 217 to the wheels easy and more with a set of cams. The brakes on this car are pretty impressive from new actually so I don't know what you are talking about. The car stops really well and are so well balanced that it's almost impossible to better them by buying aftermarket calipers. Stop referring to the civic, this car is much better than a civic. You have shit tires on that car. Tires make more of a difference than you'd expect. You keep on going on about the civic when this car is much more refined. The seats are firm and fit well. After years they sink like any other seat will. Your shifting looks like you are pulling it in to gear instead of letting it go by its feel. Ok, not a bad review but could be better. I think the only thing better about the new civics is that they may have the LSD where the RSX does not. Put some real tires on that car and then drive it. You'll see the real difference.
Nice Car! I drive a base model RSX every day and I love it!
I recently reviewed it on my channel... Check it out!

That emotion you exhibited at 8:44 is priceless. That's the same exact feeling I had when I drove my old '95 GSR 23 years ago. I regret selling that car =(
I know what you mean! I had the 96 Integra GSR and had it for 10 years before it was stolen from my office parking lot. Replaced it with the 2006 RSX Type S and still have it. I thought the GSR was the best car ever until I got the Type S. WOW! I loved watching this reviewer smile and laugh when he drove it! Same thing I do each time I get behind the wheel! My Type S is turning 17 this August. Let's hope for another 17 years!
I've had a variety of small sports cars through the years. I recently test-drove a 2006 Acura RSX S-type. I was so impressed with its performance, I immediately bought it. It was owned by a mechanic who raced with it. He took very good care of it. The handling on curves is amazing! The racing clutch and breaks were new, and man!... Easy gear change, 0 slippage, hold you back in your seat from 0 all the way to 100 mph +. The interesting thing about the car is that apart from the clutch, there were no after-market mods. New, this car was about $30k in 2006, which in my opinion was a great deal. I paid $10K for mine, but I was prepared to pay more. I don't recommend this car for a "first car"; you need some experience driving manuals before going to sports cars. The racing clutch takes getting used to if you've never had one - these clutches are harder and travel farther, but they the advantage is there is no slip at all.
IMHO, for the $, this car is one of the best sports cars in its class ever made.
I've always wanted one of these for my first car, good idea?!
Same!
Aurora17 no
COYOTE swap or you get DEPORTED why not ???
Hi, can you review the Acura TSX 1st Gen?
Totally!

yeah it's a good first car just be responsible and do the regular maintenance for it
+B CUMS he said he prefers the 02-04 look instead lol
Great review! Brought mine new in 06. Love it
great vid! feel like you were real, open minded, and honest.
I like the outside look of the 2004 better than the 06. the 06 head lights look like a Honda fit to me. still a great car.
I agree. And it looks a bit more unique.
Agreed. The teardrop headlights/taillights in the 02-04 give the RSX character. The 05-06 lights make it look too much like a commuter car.
Agreed.
02-04 RSX styling > 05-06 RSX styling.
By a pretty large margin IMO.
+JROC734 noooo way lol but I respect your opinion maybe I'm bias cause I own a 06
Everyone is biased lol. No big deal. We're all here to share opinions.
VTEC has that effect on everyone. :D
One of the best things I missed about this car when I moved from this to a s2000 is the space. For such a small car, the space was amazing

Junior Ramos you can find a FC or older fairly easy but a FD is hard that is in fair condition.
Now do an Acura TL Type S.
Ricky Vang
I've been looking for a manual tl-s for over a year. I still haven't come across one in my area. I read that only around 8% were produced with a mt (don't know how accurate that is). It would seem like it would be the other way around for a type-s. I did hear that they are really fun with the mt.
Had my eye on this car for a long time, Great review!
The RSX or Integra will definitely be my first car :)
This is the Type S we're missing from Acura nowadays ~~ This and the TL Type S were excellent for their time and even to this day.
the 2005-06 have 210HP from the updated K20Z1.
It was revised to 201hp for the 05-06 and 190hp 02-04
StickyFingers I thought the 2002-2004 had 200 Horse Power and the 2005-2006 had 2010, but those are for the type S. The base had 160 hp
2002-2004 has 200hp 2005 has 210hp and the 2006 has 201 :P
shaochia vang You're correct the 02-04 had 200 HP, the 2005 had 210 HP, its a tricky area in 2006 because the SAE rating for "Certified HP" changed and actually reduced the 210 HP to 201HP. Nothing changed between 05-06 besides the way they measure the HP...
I'm good with my 250 hp...

Nice review Matt, made me miss my 06 Si a bit. Wouldn't mind seeing you review an Abarth at some point. Hopefully you get your hands on one soon, they look and sound like a blast! Heard about the Minis H2o pump, feel your pain!

Great video bro, I actually have always loved the S-Type and almost got one.
