    Hi from Denmark
I thought the staging was cool, but I didn't feel connected with Olly or the song. I heard a lot about he wanted to bring the most gay performance and it felt a bit insincere. Like I was hosting a party and someone came and made the party all about them, not caring about the party it self. I feel that a lot with UK entries, they aren't attending to be part of the party - they are either there because they have to or in Olly's case to be seen. Sam Ryder felt like he wanted to join the party as an equal - he wanted to be there and not make it about him.
Olly's song was plain, and not really Eurovision material - needed more party or drama and changes - I loooove changes in songs. But I also felt it was too sexual just for the sake of it like San Marino and Albania in 2022.

In hindsight, for me, the Ant & Dec staging for "Dizzy" could've worked better for the song than the boxing shower room staging that Olly did. (If that's the case, then the UK would be placed as the show closer again instead of "We Will Rave" because of the complex props.)
The choreography also compromised his live singing, whereas just having him walk around a slowly spinning lazy susan wouldn't have messed up his vocals.

YES, i enjoyed that performance on SNT plus it fits DIZZY, it's spinning, he's in a new location etc etc

Dizzy is a great song, and probably will stay in many playlists and radios. He had some jury deserved votes. Maybe he did not worried with public Conexion and simply he was more forgotted than other nice songs. He said it will be the most gay song, but The LGBT community (and non LGBT) probably tranfered their votes to Bambie and Nemo, Olly is already a successful artist.

The staging was perfect for the song, but the issue is only a small percentage of people will get it and do get it.

Well the reasoning is easy. The song isnt anything special, the performance was meh (the singing was really bad), staging was meh maybe slightly above average and since his name has almost zero pulling power outside of UK (never heard of him before eurovision tbh) it is no wonder he didnt score top 10 in any country.

I agree with everything, which is on top of that the people in the arena are not the audience in front of the TV. Many see the ESC as a family program. I've been watching the ESC since I was a kid, since 1979.
This year it was disgusting and shocking in parts, especially with the performance of Olly and Bambie. I don't want to see that next year.
Mae and Olly were both not good LIVE singers, in contrast to Sam Ryder.

@sasat6669 It's not really fair to lump a representation of a celtic pagan goddess defeating metaphorical inner demons in with imagery designed to look like a sex act on tv...

@@sandrafinnegan7708 That's quite simple for me: I don't want to see both whether pagan demon or sex

I like Olly and then/now years & years and i thought wow hes going give the UK a chance, then i heard the song, the song wasnt anything special and the over the top sexual theme wasnt needed.

I have a simple answer: The traditional 12 points voting system is causing these nil points and it's a shame artists have to suffer these embarassing results. Dizzy wasn't my type of song. But it was alright.
Slovenia was one of my favourites but the only reason it scored relatively high is because it scored enough in a few countries (above the 1 point threshold)but dizzy scored average but below the 1 point threshold in each country. Which results in nil points.
I know douze points is tradition but it's causing unnecessary embarassments for some artists. Personally I still think you should take it like a man and move on. But I prefer it to be prevented. It's easily fixed if we just give points to every entry instead of just the top 10.

Does your friend also turn off the tv when all the female singers are grinned by the dancers that take off the shirts???? Hypocrisy at its best!

It reminds me of Sweden 2018 and Montenegro 2016. Making something look like a music video is never good. We want it to look live! It’s just too off putting and looks too slick. They aren’t really interactive with the audience

No he didn't deserve zero points from the public. What a disappointing result. To think he was saved by the juries!
