- On 7/27/14, The Onett Times Facebook page held an unprecedented 30 minute, live question and answer session with Ness, Paula, Jeff and Poo, with the four of them fielding questions from fans. Here for your enjoyment is a video recap of that session!

No, at the end their souls return to their body, you walk paula home, and Picky gives you a note from Pokey/Porkey saying "Come and get me, loser! Spankety spankety spankety!" And then you get the "The End..?" screen.

It's never explicitly stated, but it's implied that Ness is 12/13 and Paula is 10 at the time of earthbound, if I recall right.
They got married younger than legal age!
In US Earthbound, both Paula and Ness are 13.
1) It’s a game from Japan where 13 IS legal age.
2) they’re just characters. It’s stated all over the game’s narrative that the journey is about the characters becoming matured versions of themselves, especially Ness. It’s all up to interpretation from there.
You can do things like make money from commerce and buy a (crappy) starter house in the game, and obviously you don’t see many kids crossing the entire world on a daily basis.
You could interpret the story to take place over many years if you wanted to, or the whole thing could have happened in a few hours. It’s up to how you want it to be.

I have the Earthbound Player's Guide, and it states that Ness is 13, but it never stated Paula's age. I think she's 12 or 13 though.
