I've been playing baldur's gate 3 for the past week and OMG. THIS is the best game I've ever played in 38 years.

Baldurs Gate 3 deserved this win, Larian poured their heart into making one of the greatest RPG's ever made. There were many great games this year but BG3 definitely is the best of the best.
And they continue patching it like crazy...

This is the absolute best the Orchestra has ever sounded.
I'm so proud Zelda and Mario were nominated for this category, it really makes my heart full of joy. Congratulations to BG3 of course, and all the nominies.
Balders Gate 3 really dropped the gauntlet , they raised the bar for everyone seemingly out of nowhere, and not even Zelda was ready for that, let alone every other top tier game this year.
Historical acheivement! Now here's hoping we can get a Nintendo Switch port sometime soon 😂
With the Switch 2.0 maybe, and a "GOTY" version of the game
Zelda was ready for that, people just got caught up in all the criticism of the same map and all that to appreciate what the game did. It is not a traditional game, its a sandbox and its very hard to WOW people with that like baldurs gate 3 did with its huge scale, VA, scenes, etc.
@@maximus2536 baldurs gate also plays like a sandbox. There are unlimited possibilities on how you approach each encounter, interact with npcs, and participate in combat. It is an unprecedented game.
@@maximus2536Even as a sandbox TotK is pretty lackluster. It has an impressive physics engine, there's no denying that. But it doesn't take long for you to realize that the game around it is not designed to really take advantage of that. (Unsurprisingly, since it was created for BotW, and Nintendo didn't make enough changes to compensate).
The only reason to get creative with the Zonnai devices is to create Tiktok videos, because the game itself sure as hell doesn't incentivize it. The devices are either too clunky to use, or so overpowered that the game quite literally plays itself. There's very little in between.

So deserved. Larian is incredible and so is BG3!
The 2018 orchestra is still the best (that celeste to AC odyssey transition will never be topped) but this year was a great step up from the past years where there was such a connecting beat between them all that they all pretty much just sounded the same or the transitions were too abrupt and it ruined the flow. The transitions this year were smooth as butter with this one and it had flute guy with like 20 instruments to play and he nailed them all!
Went back to listen to the transition and that was quite a thing
imo 2019's far surpassed all the others, specially with the control-sekiro-RE2 combo

Especially RDR2's part, it's so dope and it felt like a cowboy movie.
BG3 deserved this so much. The insane amount of thought and love put into the game is leaps and bounds above all else. Alan wake 2 definitely deserving as well. We had some great games this year folks 👏 🙌 👌

Larian earned this. And to do it in a year where Tears of the Kingdom was released makes it even more incredible of an achievement.
BG3 earned this. Games like that should be the standard for any triple A 60 dollar game
BG3 winning is well deserved. it felt like their victory is our victory. one of the 2 winners this year that made you tear up. the other one was Ke Huy Quan.
Sad Zelda didn’t win but if any game was going to beat out TotK it was Baldur gate
Zelda honestly is from too big of a studio, would have felt too corporate for a win imo. Nintendo SHOULD always make a great game since they have the resources. Larian's win felt more genuine to me ig.

What an amazing newsflash for game developers, that we love single player story driven games when delivered well. This win coupled with the Call of Duty burn made me so happy. Larian deserves it all.

I've never got the chance to know what kind of game Baldur's Gate 3 was, since I've never played it or seen any gameplay. Hearing its medley however solidified the fact and made me understand that it UNDENIABLY deserved the victory. Absolute goosebumps.

It's definitely not for everyone but, if you go and appreciate turn based RPG, its THE game to play. Gone are the days of old Bioware RPG goated games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate 3 really sets the standard for the genre now.

Final fantasy stranger in paradise relayed on arpg combat with gear and the job system another game none reliant on combos just because you can slash someone with a sword doesn’t mean it’s always hack and slash

It's interesting how my preferences align-I'm a huge fan of Baldur's Gate 3, enjoy playing AW2, and although I've never played Zelda, the orchestral performance of its music was the most exhilarating 'fire' moment for me.
BG3 well deserved, an amazing game, a niche genre - turned based CRPG and it won 6 awards, and the most important GOTY
Rightfully so. BG3 was an incredible experience. On my second playthrough
