- Yes, it's an Omnibot.
Apparently, rubber bands do not make good replacement cassette deck belts.
2021 update: i have replaced the belt since recording this video
-the belt has been replaced since july of 2018
-the belt is no longer a rubber band and is a belt specifically designed for the tomy omnibot 5402
-the cassette player is no longer dead
"My kid is an angel!" *her kid in the corner*
Never ever ever use rubber bands to repair a VCR, cassette deck, w/e. They are too elastic and not solid. Get proper drive belts (you have to determine if they are flat or square) and repair it properly. Also make sure the pinch rollers, capstans are replaced as well, and the mechanisms are greased where appropriate.
this was 2 years ago
i've bought a proper belt since
When you don't have a choice you gotta make do. I got an 8 track player and no belt so I got a rubber band that roughly fits and I'm letting the player take all the tension off of it
@@yaboidustin2447 You do have a choice. Buying the proper belt or taking it to a repair shop that can. As I said - never use rubber bands. They are not the same material or tension as a real belt and they stretch out - you do not want that. The belt slips and it throws the mechanisms out of sync or gears go beyond their tolerances and strip out. It's very dangerous.
@@MrWolfSnack used dental elastic bands to fix an og xbox dvd drive. That worked fine.
@@qwertykeyboard5901 It won't. It will snap. They are also way too small.
I had that robot, it was so cool being able to record commands to the tape
OK I can't be the only one who was laughing at this
OMG AHAHAHHHHAHHHHAHAHAHAA
Nope LOL
My Laugh Track XD
Yeah you're not the only one
Wow that sound brought back alot of childhood memories
the wow and flutter went all over the place until it stopped playing entirely
This is one of the best vids on YT.
That sounds like it's straight out of hell...
MeatLoaf - Bat out of Hell XD
@@RanaRandom especially when you play it at the slowest speed setting... Yikes!
everyone needs a friend like this
Toy Story - You gotta Friend in me
The robot was becoming self aware.
SKYNET wants to know your location 😁
Cassette player just got old and wore out suddenly !!!
Bro that is 100% summoning something
Which one is creepier? Techmoan's video of Mr. Dengon, or this one?
It sounds so lively
i'm here before recommended, O lord of CZcams algorithm.
It's a recording of a ghost.
That reminds me of playing Iron Maiden in a dying Teddy Ruxpin!
Does Bruce Dickinson also sound like R2D2 set on fire.
Very nice
Sounds like perfect 80's to me :D
it is something extra terestrial
Sounds like an ommpaville edit
Ayy an oompaville fan, rare to see in the wild
Mr. Earth, I don't feel the music soo good...
This gave me nightmares i think.... That's creepy
oh for the love of God. That is torturous.
I would recommend replacing the belts in it
nah it'll be fine for a few more years i'm sure
When I clicked play.... I prayed it was a rick roll.
Mars attack!! Cassette player just so cute, I think it's time to change rubber bands.
It's not rubber bands, it's belts.
@@willtubes73 In the description, at the time the videos poster was using rubber bands. In the description it says "Yes, it's an Omnibot. Apparently, rubber bands do not make good replacement cassette deck belts."
Cos'è quel coso con gli occhi che si accendono?,un lettore cassetta con gli occhi?
That is what happens when you use cheap Realistic C-60 tape cassettes.
check the rubber wheel or the belt
That’s not dying, it merely needs a new belt. That or it just just be a simple as the device is not getting constant power ofc.
Yea, I replaced the belts long ago. I think something's still wrong with the gears but I don't really have the motivation to fix it since I don't actually use the cassette player on this.
Oic... cracked/slipping gear(s) could also do that. It could be as simple as a superglue here and there and some patience ofc but if your not inclined to fixing it, the real cause will remain a secret.
You kinda unintentionally triggered me and the many others out here that gets irked at seeing something not function as intended tho LoL
If I were in your shoes, I’d get little to no sleep until I sort that monkey out of my back. My OCD be doing me dirty at things like this I’m afraid.
So if you can excuse me, I’ll go watch someone tinker and fix something rn...✌🏼
What is it?
same thing
to my mini cossette player it sounding goofy ahh
What's the solution ? I have the same problem
Find the model of your cassette player and order a new belt for that model. If the gears are still loud afterward then there's probably something else damaged as well.
What kind of tape player is that?
This is the internal cassette deck in an Omnibot 5402, a robot made by Tomy in 1984, the idea was you could program it (on tape) to move around in a certain path and carry things around and/or say things at a certain time(s) of the day.
Right now it's definitely not in the condition to handle a program but I don't have much motivation to fix it at the moment
Creppy
CZcams puts this in your recommended? Did you recently buy a tape deck? Did you try to fix it with rubber bands? I probably dont think so. Ill ask again, was this in your youtube recommendation?? If yes, ill tell you something eerie. I bought a tape deck (even posted a video of it) and i used a rubberband as a belt for the 'Memory Counter' not the take up wheel and not the playback because those belts were fine. This content is relatable to me so its alright but why you? ...
God i died of laugh xD
Creepy 😂😂😂
I rather stick with cds
Hahaha
