On PS2 you can see drips come off her after gets out of the water. Other versions don't have it.
For those who dont know, the PS3 version was released later, in 2011 I think, while the other versions got released in 2007. The PS3 version is superior because its true HD with other things added to it. As an Xbox fanboy it hurts me to admit it but PS3 takes the cake on this one.
I miss this, getting the same game on all different platforms...
Somehow I prefere these old Tomb Raiders over new reboots, they feels more adventureous, where you travel across all interesting and misterious places. Apart to it, these new reboots they more remind me FarCry then Tomb Raider with all that survival/ hunting, and (excempt to prologue) bounded to one location/ countrie (Island, Syberia, Jungle).
Its astounding that that PSP version even exists.
It is originally a PS2 game, so why not. It was common to the time.
@@coramunro95 Its not the choice thats suprising, its the tecnical aspect of it. Fitting a PS2 game on the PSP is the equivalent of feeding a 5 member family on a 10 dollar budget. It can be done, but man is it difficult.
@@zxb995511 at the time many PS2 games were ported to the PSP. The PSP was almost as powerful as the PS2.
Making a PS2 game work on a PSP is not dificult. Making it control decently... well, that's another story. I don't know what sony was thinking not putting a second analog stick in in it...
@@zxb995511 If my memory serves me right, the Obscure II's PSP port was even better (graphically speaking) than this one. That game really pushed the hardware to the limit!
Lara really seems to stick out visually on the PS3 compared to the others.

@Delinquent Road Runner Oh my goodness you're doing it here too. I'm checking other comments to see if I was the only one getting misunderstood by Road Runner. @ExtremePlayGames isn't wrong though. 360 and PS3 versions are considered next--gens compared to PS2, Wii, PSP and PC. Even if you compared the PS2 and PS3 versions alone, PS2 lacks real time shadows and water effects.
@Delinquent Road Runner i don’t know why you’re so worked up about this. It still stands true there’s next-gen enhancements in this game with said features, even if it is an enhanced port.
@Delinquent Road Runner it has real time water effects. Ps2 didn’t. Real time shadows. ps2 didn’t. Can’t change my mind. I don’t know what’s the big deal about saying it has next-gen features. Just because it’s not 1:1 identical with 360 doesn’t mean it isn’t technically next-gen for its time.
La versión de Wii solo no tiene reflejos a la talla de Xbox 360 y PS3 pero de resto es la misma versión,una buena versión.
La de PSP es muy impresionante gráficamente para la consola y un port muy similar al de PS2

If you play the ps2 version on a backwards compatible ps3 it will look better and more realistic than the ps3 version in terms of lighting.Also the ps3 version for some reason changes the color of Lara’s shirt after performing some actions
and her gloves too! wrist straps turn white!
Not sure if it's a mistake or not, but you misplaced the PSP logo on the PS2 game footage, which results in many people mistakingly thinking ps2 footage is downgraded, correct your error if possible.
Man, PS3 still looks really good. Crazy powerful console.
The motion controls for the wii version were fairly decent.
The xbox360 version looks noticeably more vibrant than the ps3 version .

X360 version is definitely better than PS3, ps3 version don't even shows them eyes popping at 3:05 🤡 also u can see better texture on 360 even on the ground, her hair, and any other detail, ps3 just put some saturated color filter to fool the players

PS3 (2011) is the latest graphical reiteration between all of them. In terms of polygonal count, it is also the best (look at her shoulders for reference. The rest of the versions, you can literally see square corners). But dang it, the PS3 version sometimes has over blown highlights with harsh lighting. The 360 version is superior when it comes to that. Give or take between the two.

@Delinquent Road Runner yes, I’m aware that Legend and Anniversary did not have a PS3 version until “The Tomb Raider Trilogy” released in 2011, featuring remastered versions of said games. I think we’re misunderstanding each other here lol. Maybe I poorly worded it and you’re right. But if anything, what I really meant to say was it was no direct port. Anniversary and Legend on the PS3 are graphically similar to 360 versions but enhanced (like Anniversary Lara, again with her shoulders and backpack straps having the most polygonal count than the treat if the versions). If it was a direct port, Lara would look like her “PS2 self”, especially in Legend. Edit: if you meant something else, let me know.
@Delinquent Road Runner I was gonna add something else but for some reason, my comment disappeared? Anyway, dude I think you're taking this WAY too personally. I just realized you even called me a "fanatic" lol if not just "getting out of Sony bubble". All I said was that in terms of visual appearance, DESPITE SHADERS and what not, 360 version and the PS3 looks similar in terms of graphical fidelity, NOT IDENTICAL. And the LARA CROFT MODEL (Anniversary PS3 in particular) is the best looking version between PS2, PC, Wii, PSP and X360. Again, look at her backpack straps at 3:28, and her shoulders at 3:40 - both are exemplerary examples of how the PS3 LARA CROFT MODEL is superior than the rest in terms of polygonal count. Crystal Dynamics even stressed this as a selling point for the Tomb Raider Trilogy for PS3. I also do remember them saying they've worked with the PS2 code so you're not wrong about that. But I'm not taking back anything I said about how they looked similar and etc.

I’m playing with the Aether SX2 emulator with the 4K HD resolution on a MAC M1 and it now looks like a Hi-Res STEAM game . Just Perfect .

I caught that during the Caves cutscene 🤣 though it somewhat worked to great effect, just hearing them howling staring at pitch darkness is eerie.
PS3 is the best and that's not just a personal opinion it is kind of fact, they did add higher res textures, better lighting and more advanced shading.
resolution on Xbox360 is 1024x576 with 2xMSAA, not 1280x720.

You can't. Once a video is out you can't make changes. The best you can do is delete it and post it again.

I like the Wii version. It's the one I have.
It's a shame PC version lacks shader model 3 tech from PS360 launches. Although Legend had it this version for PC don't which is very odd.

Yeah, es algo que estos videos de comparaciones nunca tienen en cuenta. No es lo mismo emular un juego viejo en una PC con mayor resolución que la soportada originalmente, que jugarlo con el hardware al que estaba apuntaban en su misma epoca. Muchos juegos de PS2 se siguen viendo bastante bien!
Here's a suggestion. Run the PSP version on an emulator, and upscale the resolution. I believe it's gonna look on par with PC
Yeah it's Gonna look like PC and PS2 only the downside of PSP was it looked super pixely otherwise if played on emulators it's same and clean as pc and ps2
PS3 > X360 > PC > Wii > PS2 > PSP
PS3 because of the higher poly Lara + correct backpack geometry on her shoulders + "more" lighting engine and "more" self shadowing for 1st place
X360 for 2nd place because it's the most natural looking version, even outshining PC
PC 3rd because well ... it's got low poly lara (every version aside from PS3), is beneath visuals to X360, but a better experience than Wii / PS2 / PSP due to resolution / framerate.
Unbelievable, they ported the old gen version on pc. I'd love the ps3 enhancements [higher poly count and normal map on lara] but the framerate is ass on ps3 and 360.
I think you've mixed ps2 and psp versions on sliced comparisons.
Ps3 looks really good in some scenes and in others it looks horrible. They over did it with the contrast. Xbox 360 has a more "grounded" lighting overall it looks good and not exaggerated. PC version has 60fps and looks the sharpest. This is the version that I played, but would like to try out the xbox 360 version.
One small negative I noticed about the 360 version. It seems to have a glitch. If you look at the far left side of the screen you can see a small "line" like a weird graphical artifact.
Was Lara on PS3 really that glossy looking? Never liked that effect in PS3/X360 versions of Legend.
how are you playing this on ps3?
PC cause I can Get the PC version separately and play all the other versions on emulator on my PC, Yeah i have to agree that PS3 version looks better cause it was years later ported to PS3 somewhere in 2011-12 and all other versions including PC were released somewhere in 2007 so it makes sense to have HD and better looking graphics on PS3

I paused at a certain spot, the PS3 has the best model. Seems the PC, 360, and PS2 share the same 3D model of Lara.

It looks great on a CRT display, when you take the PS2's native 480i signal to a fixed panel display, it will always look downgraded no matter what.

It's because the PS2 footage is actually the one that's labeled as PSP, it's a mistake on this guy's part.

I though that the PSP edition was a simplified version. But it seems to be about the same as the others.

PC版は唯一60fpsで動作しているけどPS2版に基づいているように見える。しかし、サングラスを外すカットシーンで環境マップがなくなっているように見えるし、雪のパーティクルがやけに小さい。
Wiiは流石にXbox360やPS3には劣るが、PS2やPCよりも優れたグラフィックでありながらフレームレートが安定しており、この中では意外にもまともなバージョンに思える。

Aside from Tomb Raider II, this has always been my favorite game in the series. I couldn't believe when they rebooted it that they didn't implement the button tapping to shimmy faster along the walls. I couldn't understand why. It made the game feel soo much more interactive. I've played through every version but the Wii and PS3 versions but I have to say, as far as consoles go (obviously PC will come out on top at every corner of most games) the PS3 version seems to have that perfect balance going for it. The last version I played was on the XBox 360 and the light and contrast just isn't there.

@@androxilogin ....The reboot is entirely different. Oh my god. How many times do I need to save the day with the reboot? It uses an entirely different movement system. You don't need to shimmy, the game goes far faster than the original games ever did. Also, TR2?... Ew. The original was by far the best.
@@SomberTwilight_ The reboot could have used this mechanic. You can shimmy in the reboot, just at a snail's pace. It certainly wouldn't have saved the new series by any means, being as lame as it was. But it wouldn't have hurt. I was soo bored just waiting for constant cutscenes to stop popping up and looking forward to the game(s) just ending. I thought they'd have learned their lesson by putting QTEs in Anniversary but only intensified them. Tomb Raider II was filled with action and discovery. The original Tomb Raider was basically a linear mess. Tomb Raider II was still linear but it definitely didn't feel that way. It took some thought and offered numerous vehicles. Both great games, still. The newer games were brainless collectathons with everything found right out in the open. They focused on making it pretty rather than fun or interesting.

Nixxes ported that one as part of their trilogy collection. It included Tomb Raider Legends also and they upped the resolution to 720p over 360's 540p resolution. I think the trilogy collection on PS3 also has all dlc included also.

@@MichaelM28 Yeah! That sounds right. The PS3 release also has better shadows in Aniversary and Legends. After looking into it. I believe Legend and Underworld does not have the dlc. But could be wrong.
