Also, studies indicate that learning to sing and to play an instrument (or learning to play two different instruments) help you to learn synergistically; that is, they reinforce one another so you learn and develop faster :) When teaching voice, I suggest that you practice your singing and playing separately most of the time, so you can concentrate on your tone, intonation, technique, etc. Of course, you got an early start on your career when you sang on Britain's Got Talent, and many of us fans have been following you with interest and appreciation since then :) Really love your song "Fly," and the video. OH - I just learned that you are a college gal and just had a birthday. Congratulations and best wishes for the coming year. I'm obviously really late on commenting on this. But this song is NOT by Birdy. Birdy just did a cover. This song was written by Bon Iver. He is absolutely amazing, and he's due credit. Hollie, I've always loved your singing, but I just felt the need to point that out.
Funny how everyone hears things differently. I love her other music as well, but I loved this performance, and I even prefer it to the opera sound. I guess it is good that she rocks at both. Something for everyone. I think she will be more successful in the mainstream doing songs like this because it is more current and suitable for young audiences, but she definitely needs to do both. IMHO. :)
