I forgot that the BRC (base recovery course) is magnetic and not the true heading that you set in the mission editor. To figure out the magnetic course you need to add or subtract the magnetic variance to the true heading. In the mission editor you can select the "Map" view from the bottom of the screen and look for a dashed line that will have a number of degrees followed by direction. In the Gulf of Oman the mag var is 1 degree E, so you would subtract 1 degree from your true course. You can also find the carrier's magnetic course by selecting the LSO Platform view, (LAlt F9) once the carrier is on the map. It may be plus or minus a degree depending on how accurately you placed the carrier's waypoint. I hope this helps.
