    I wasn't going to bother typing, don't like to blow my own trumpet, but:
    I can't see that knights in plate armour would be too different from rough riders. In fact I'm currently putting together a Knight World army using Dol Amroth knights as rough riders. It looks pretty impressive on the field when 20 or so knights come pouring on, as you say: charge xenos scum.
    My understanding of Knight Worlds is that, when the Imperium rediscovers them, the mechanicus move in to repair and restore the Knight suits themselves, as well as improving other aspects of what is often 'Feudal World' tech.
    So you've got empire handgunners as IG, complete with Mortars, Helstorm Rocket Batteries, snipers, grenade launchers. Anything I could find from the empire that translated to 40k.
    Sanctioned psykers are of course Wizards, Ogres as Ogryns (easy). The Commissariat is (as usual) drawn from off world so no changes there. Currently trying to work on some clockwork leman-russ converstions to round out the army some.

      The vehicles would be easy. Simply give them engines and gear drives like out drives we use today.

      the STC system allows for "you can build this with whatever's handy" so the local tech level be damned.

    • @plutarchvonpluto6439
      @plutarchvonpluto6439 Před 4 lety +2

      You know, STC are only for technology from the Dark Age of Technology (after 5000 AD). Anything before that, including clockwork/steampunk warmachines are allowed. There is actually a canon regiment specializing in fielding clockwork power armors and tanks, the Arkhan Confederates.

      @@plutarchvonpluto6439 I see clockwork/steamwork as a low tech solution to high-tech threats. For example an emp or a dark tech priest corrupting a machine spirit.

    Without a doubt Feudal worlds are probably the "best" imperial world, maybe tied with Agri-worlds for their stability. Not to mention gorgeous architecture

    The existence of feudal worlds in 40K when i first got into the series honestly made me hope that the setting of Warhammer Fantasy was a Feudal World in the 40K universe, albeit untouched by the Imperium of Man.

    Do you classify Knight Worlds differently from regular Feudal Worlds? If so, will you be covering them in the future?

    • @GrimDarkNarrator
      @GrimDarkNarrator  Před 7 lety +11

      I will undoubtedly talk about them when I talk about Imperial Knights :) I also don't think all Knight Houses worlds are actually feudal. Some are more advanced, on the levels of developing worlds.

    • @GrimThe13
      @GrimThe13 Před 7 lety +1

      They do need people that can maintain those machine, and most of the time they don't have enough techpriest for that. It's likely that they have a good tech level.

    • @namekman01
      @namekman01 Před 7 lety +1

      knight worlds are feudal in their society, but their technology is pretty advanced

    • @GrimDarkNarrator
      @GrimDarkNarrator  Před 7 lety +1

      I wouldn't be surprised if Knights Houses techpriests are more loyal to the house than the Mechanicus. Those Houses are very tightly knit.

    My world was a Feral world, in back water sector you wouldn't know anything about.
    we wore armor made of Emperor steel(cermite) and blades know to be sharp and strong long after the man you killed children die of old age.
    our lives where simple lives of farmers, and blade smiths, we even meet the emperor's angles as they take our blades for battle.
    this all ended of course when the Xenos known as tryinids came. Unlike others worlds that fell we surived and thrived. Our Griph Knights cut through their units on the ground, while our rocket batteries pinned them to the ground, flying Griph knights took out air units and ground units as well, hand gunners and swords men held the lines.
    while our off world brothers provided fire support.
    we our know a civilized world, our tith is our Calvary Hussiar Griphs and we train all childern, took work steel, fight, and farm the land.

    "would you like to live on either of these world types?" FUCK NO. well entire setting aside. Other setting's fans are all "man I would love to live in that universe." warhammer 40k fans are "man, I'm glad I don't live in that universe."

    I would like to live in a Feral World that is in the times of Thermapolye, Marathon, the might of the Spartan Soldiers , but have a few changes where women are also included, and just as smart and violent as their male counterparts. Since we now know that Spartan women were also fighters, then I can see a Feral World where the Spartans would have had women fighting alongside all of them with Leonidas....

      Well, the Minotaurs are already Spartan/Minoan space marines. I also remember a homebrew chapter of space marines:

    • @SwordTune
      @SwordTune Před 3 lety +3

      To be clear, though Spartan women had more rights and financial power than other Greek women, do not confuse this with equality. Women were still seen as being unequal to men, they were not included in the military, and any training amounted to self-defence against possible slave revolts or sexual predators, not as any form of organized military. Surely, they were fierce, but not treated in any way which would be desirable to modern standards of equality.

    I would have to say no to either one of those types of planets I think I would rather go to one of the five hundred worlds of ultramar. but in the world of 40K you don't get a pic where you're born you just have to adapt and overcome and hope to live past the age of 40. Gdn as always I enjoyed your lure and the story keep it up thank you I look forward to the next one.
