If you look through the history of fashion a lot of clothing was actually gender neutral, none of this is new, men across all cultures regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity have worn and in some cultures still wear garments that could be considered skirts, dresses/robes even makeup idk why we act like any of this is new.

I think Billy’s point was lost in the sauce. I don’t think he was saying he was THEE first to wear dresses. I think he was saying or what I gleamed from his commentary was that in THIS current era HE made a bigger impact in terms of bringing gender fluid dressing back to the forefront. And here comes Harry getting all the attention. I think that’s what Billy was saying. And I honestly think he has a point. Billy has been shoving that ish down our throats for thee longest.
This conversation about gender fluidity has been going on for years. We just weren’t using the term gender fluidity. Prince, David Bowie Dennis Rodman and even Michael Jackson were challenging gender norms way before Billy and they are all cultural icons. Billy joined an ongoing movement and in some ways he took it up a notch. He gave himself way too much credit by suggesting that he deserved the cover more than Harry Styles.

I think being repressed for so long has taken a toll on different communities.
