Dang I am a huge Kelly fan, but I have to say objectively this interview is just amazing! She’s gotten really good at staying open and responding appropriately, matching energies etc.
Billy Porter is also an icon and so wonderful and magnetic, truly a fantastically produced, hosted and presented segment by all those involved!

Loved this interview so much ! You can see that they respect each other. Billy is so intelligent and speaks of compassion and acceptance with such passion. Kelly has really grown as an interviewer. I hope she does more of these longer one on one sit downs. Her 5th season has gotten off to a fantastic start!

I can relate,Billy .I had Acid Reflux and I lost my Voice for 6 Months and of course I had to be operated on to have a look inside my Stomach and Chords.What ever they Fond inside they just took a little niblet from my stomach chords to send off to the lab . All came back negative and was determined Severe Acid reflux.Yes my Voice was never the same but I have a Knew Voice now and Loving it.
My God Billy is my spirit twin.... 1st, I had a great Aunt Dorothy, 2nd I'm a black Queer man who sings, 3) I've had to fight Acid Reflux and adjust to my new Voice that EVERYONE loves. 4) How I dress is ON PURPOSE

Billy has such an exquisite way of expressing positivity and self affirmation that it’s just empowering! We don’t need permission to be ourselves. I agree that the word tolerance is denigrating because it is the same as saying “to put up with. “ and that is not showing respect it’s just another way of invalidating another person’s existence!

Chiming in because I have same. I take enzymes and neti pot twice a day. (allergic to everything) Working very well. And what is it about acid reflux and allergies going together???? LOL.
@@DonnaBoyleMedium lol I have no clue but they seem to be brother and sister 🤦🏽♀️😂…. I’m trying to find a balance and get it under control. It’s not easy to sing 1st or mezzo soprano anymore. My voice seems to have gone down an octave or two lol

I'm a Billy Porter DAY ONE fan! I'm talking from the 'Star Search' days. I knew SOMETHING had changed, but wasn't quiet sure what... BUT GOD!!!! See THE GIFT remained the same. When you can sing, YOU CAN SING!! Billy still sounds amazing and can sing the house DOWN!!!! We love you Mr. Porter!!!!!
No, his gift is nowhere near the same but thankfully he has learned in to the new voice and works with what he has now.

Sounds like what is happening to my mom but she doesn't want to believe me that acid could do that. She gets offended when I bring it up since that means she has to change her diet.
Yes, I am also starting to feel some changes in my voice and the doctor told me a couple months ago that my acid was high. I used to do falsettos very easily and now I’m having a hard time. Hopefully a healthy diet will helped me. Wishing your mom good health too ❤
@@isabellouis3833 Aww thank you. Did they test you or diagnosed by listening to your symptoms? I believe I had acid regurgitation or something similar since childhood. My doctors never really understood me since it comes off as a sore throat with excess saliva but I don't have any other cold symptoms. It felt the worse at bedtime. I did some research a few years ago and realized this could be acid related. I started paying attention to food triggers and I haven't had that strange sore throat ever since (hopefully did not jinx myself). I hope you heal and find relief.
Try Enzymes to help food digest. I have same, plus allergies. I just eat smaller meals more times during the day. Hope she finds relief. :)

A Capa high School me and Billy had so much in common. I had no idea he was a victim of a stepfather like myself. Billy when you walk down the hall you were on one side by the lockers and I was on the other. I'm so happy we didn't condem each other.

Omg this is sooooo inspiring to me. Billy I commend you because a lot of artist like myself go through this. I suffer from acid reflux and have had severe acid reflux and God healed me but sometimes it feels like the condition of my vocals change or be in and out due to the fact but this is so inspirational because there’s so many people that are artist and go through this and then we down play or degrade ourselves because of our struggle or life circumstance. First off, as a singer with a raspy voice is not easy in my perspective because for me there’s techniques that I have to use for high vs low ranges or that I use to sing on any scale or key. It’s just a lil different having a distinct voice especially raspy. It takes work lol but this was so inspiring coming from another raspy amazing singer like Billy❤❤❤❤❤
