Q&A: Leona's Contracts with Azul (Twisted Wonderland)

Question: Is the contract that Leona made with Azul the same one that Ruggie was able to get potions with? Or is it something different that history doesn’t tell us about?

Knowing leona and his “nah im out” type of nature- he definitely either paid a huge sum directly to azul or just offered to fund the mostro lounge.

My guess is that he keeps the contracts around as evidence in case someone tries to pull a fast one on him. In real life business settings, bosses are advised to always document every single interaction just in case someone tries to sue them. That's why business experts say that if you feel like your boss is about to pull something to always keep your emails with them, because that way you can use that as evidence in a court of law. Since Azul's stepfather's a lawyer, I can see him learning that from him as well.

My theory in the contract Leona made in chapter 2 for Ruggie to get magic boosters from Azul might be acess to his bank account or credit card since Azul tells the tweels he could finally get the perfect refurnising of Monstro Lounge he had veen wanting thanks to the contract with Leona .

My theory is that maybe it was just funding a bit of the Monstro Lounge as a collateral since Leona won't dare to give an ounce of magic or his dorm members but that's what I think since Leona is rich but that's just what I think and feels a bit more realistic 😅

That makes sense, besides, Leona would never lift a finger to do anything, he'd use weaponized incompetence to get out of whatever deal he made. So money is the most likely option

I think Azul might keep around old contracts he made with "important" students as a from of power play or something like that.

I think they can be both - fulfilled for a blackmail and/or nostalgia, but most probably failed contracts or what still giving him something of use

I like an idea briefly mentioned in this video (czcams.com/video/3RC5yC6_9b8/video.htmlsi=UNqUQPd_BWDlfXG0) that one contract Leona made with Azul was for Ruggie's blot accumulation to transfer to Leona instead. I don't think it's canon, but it would make Leona's sudden overblot in book 2, when Ruggie was the one using his magic the entire time, make sense

I always thought he held onto every single contract or mostly everyone, because if he tore them up then whatever was in the contract would go back to normal. Obviously some of them he would tear up like the one he made with Floyd about the deep voice because he doesn’t care if that goes back to normal. But I doubt he’d willingly tear up some of the contracts he made when he was in middle school as it’s kind of his way of holding power over his bullies. Which is why when Leona sanded the contracts it was so devastating because he lost all of that. As for Leona, I think he was trying to get rid of multiple contracts. It could’ve been for many reasons, but one of them was probably to erase any blackmail opportunities or get back whatever he gave. I also always thought that Ruggie just referred to a singular contract because he doesn’t know the extent of the deals that Leona has made with Azul

Ruggie might just not know Leona made more than one and that’s why he was talking as if Leona only made one. Also I doubt anything given through physical means (the photo and ramshackle in book 3 for example) would be FORCED to be given back if the contract was gone, but magical things (such as UMs) will likely be automatically returned once the contract was gone, so ppl would likely end up upset if they didn’t get their side back as well or Azul would be mad.
