Wow. Well once again, you’ve completely opened up my brain and inserted some spectacular ideas, thank you. Quite the riding area!!! Not a sound around but a little two stroke symphony and that view.
Agreed, wish I had thought of that before I machined a piston ring groove out for a oil control rail. Would have been a lot nicer quality and control. 👍🧑🏭👨🔧
You did the best job with the video quality while welding/building up that cable “cam” for the throttle. I haven’t seen anything like it on CZcams. I don’t know how you did it, but its awesome 🙂👍 I could see how you actually puddled up the aluminum 👌😃 I’ve never TIG welded anything, so it’s really cool, to me, to see that.
The heat management on that little part was awesome. I would have nuked it for sure. I’ve subscribed to your course so hopefully I’ll learn all about it. Cheers!
Excelente tutorial maestro y buen trabajo como siempre, gracias por compartir sus conocimientos y experiencias, un saludo cordial y por supuesto un gran like desde Narón (Galicia) 🔝🤓
To help with odd shapes when turning on your lathe, could you rig up an adjustable speed strobe light to freeze the rotational movement as you advance the tool post for added safety and or accuracy. Just a thought, you seem very creative and think outside the box. Great videos on your site as soon as I can afford it I would like to purchase a Tig welder, very elegant way of sticking metal together. Thanks
About 8 years ago my throttle cable housing on my dirtbike broke where the line is held into the bracket and due to not being able to find one for how old my bike was i rode around on it having to pull the cable with my finger and thumb... Wish I had the skills and capability to do exactly what you did in this video when i was younger 8 years ago lol
16:15 🎵"Oh, Give me a home where the buffalo roam Where the deer and the antelope play, Where seldom is heard, a discouraging word and the skies are not cloudy all day"🎵 That is a beautiful piece of landscape there.
So legitimate question, while this is a great display of skill and ingenuity to fix a problem, and understanding you make youtube videos, specifically aluminum welding. would this not have been significantly easier and more efficient to just cut from a piece of aluminum plate ? Or was this a "for youtube " exercise? Im just curious if I'm missing somthing ? as a welder , novice home machinest and pleb dirtbiker rider, I'm always up for learning more ... Either way great video and great outcome 👍
What size lathe do you have please?? I mostly want to do the same things you do and I'm wondering if I haven't been setting my sights on something too large. Your lathe appears to be just right or do you wish you had something a little bigger??
HA!!! Modified tools!!! I have almost a drawer full of one off, just need a slight modification stuff!!! DO NOT BE AFRAID OF MODIFYING STUFF!!! Your Pal, Gary
what are the advantages of building the whole thing up by welding rather than taking aluminum stock, cutting it to the right shape and welding that to the part? using stock seems more straight forward to me.
these comments look staged sorry but thats my view on it since there is like no criticism or constructive advice and i see a few things that people would mention
Welding questions are all answered at www.6061.com (welder settings, filler rod type, etc...)
Thanks for watching
A great outcome to one of those “it’ll just take 5 minutes” buddy projects.
I cracked up laughing at you taking a die grinder to the guard. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
Right? 🤣
Great job on that small part, Aaron! I know how challenging it is to weld on tiny parts.

Nice work! Being able to 3D print aluminum & then machine to size, is a handy skill-
I bought your tig button a couple years back and absolutely love it!
The drill bit > lathe tool trick will be filed away in my mind forever, thank you.
Agreed, wish I had thought of that before I machined a piston ring groove out for a oil control rail. Would have been a lot nicer quality and control. 👍🧑🏭👨🔧
High speed tool steel. Can also use old drill bits for hard facing filler rod.
Thanks for setting up the camera such that we could see the arc and puddle. Its very interesting to see for someone that doesn't weld.

Mate, I could watch you make stuff all day long.

Liked watching your brand new Tillmans progress through the vid :D
I'm totally geeking out mechanically inside bro💪🏆

Nice work! I’m just a little bit perplexed about using a bend saw as a grinding machine… However is a nice result!
Хорошая работа и отличные места!
It's so much fun when you make something for yourself ❤
lovely final part!
Great Sir Absolutely Mind Blowing.
The thought process on attacking a problem always blows my mind.
My God, what a beautiful view
really impressive job
Nice arc shots!!
Awesome job 👍
Another quality video. Awesome. May i ask what hz did you run for this?

Very clean work m'y goal was toi find what it was for and i find befor you show so il happy
Nice jobs . . Nice mount🤩
Glad to see I am not the only one who uses a bandsaw like that lol
A little compressed air would pop that old grip off in short order. Just blast the air in at the throat of it.
cool stuff.. what kind of aluminium support additive manufacturing/welding?
now I'm inspired to attempt to replicate same output with only the crappy tools I have in my garage!
Should we really put a thumb up and encourage this madness ?
😂 the instant a dangerous operation occurs - gloves are off - can't risk damaging what's important, eh?
Hat's off to the skill kind sir 👍
красивая у тебя природа
Genius. Now I wish I just had a lathe.
Damn you’re good!
Awesome opossum! 👌
I"m a fabbie at heart, but this is an example of when you're better off starting from scratch.
👍👍👍
I know silly question but where is it at the end when you ride your bike??? 😁
SE of Stanley, ID
Very nice 👍
Hi, bro! Does the 310 torch fit the consumables from 17, 26?
I need to up my throttle game!
Good job -
Super ❤️-thenks
when Elon terraforms Mars, Aaron 6061 shall be on location for fusion works. none better!
Legend!
Success! 👍🏽

nice fix! sensitivity cannot be under rated. :)

I have a small one, and a bigger CNC one. I usually use the small one shown in this video.
.75" through hole, 42" overall length of machine.
Such an amazing view! Does anyone know where that is?
That's the Rocky mountains, but I can't narrow it down more than that.
Yeah, somewhere down on the Caribbean Islands. He drove his truck. 😀👍
HA!!!
Modified tools!!!
I have almost a drawer full of one off,
just need a slight modification stuff!!!
DO NOT BE AFRAID OF MODIFYING STUFF!!!
Your Pal, Gary
Why couldn’t you have just cut out the additional section from that sheet and welded it to the existing piece? Seems like it’d be a lot less work?
Cool
Interesting way to create an engagement ring...😁
Where are you living now?
Is that in Alaska?
Nice tig button :)
Good
Brappp!!!
Noice!
Husky the top.
BRRRRAAAAAAAAAP!!
Braaaaap !
analog 3d printing ftw
Waouh 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
excellent work !!💪👍
I thought insert tooling was run dry? 🧐
I need machine tools...
What do you do for a living?
I'm a 3D printer.
Oh, print 3D stuff?
No. I AM a 3d printer.

Then it would be a machining Channel, not welding :). It shows you the techniques used is building up edges, heat management etc..
It’s all a lie!!!! He does have hands at 7:41. I though he was just gloves. Next you’re gonna tell me he has a face.
Your before was with a really loose screw and after screw was tight on pulley, so experiment not valid
Wouldn't have made a difference. Re-watch it.
