@@davidanderson1639 Where on earth is this a flowtrack? It's not redbull hardline with massive jumps or val di sole with constant roots, so you may not see the difficulty visually, but it's long, steep, will be rutted and tricky to race - all the racers who usually complain about bikepark flowtracks seem to like it.
and people complained about that track when the first helmet cams appeared this spring lol. That track loooks mental and the dirt is just about perfect. Looks like so much fun
Me too the bottom looks good. It was just so hard to stomach 5kms of flat grass to start off with, especially when they were racing the 1199 track in Whistler the same weekend
@@mitchellvangrieken3900 They could have started the race above where the road crossing is and it would have been mostly steeps and not lost a lot of time maybe 30 seconds. But it's a cool track anyway.
Everyone always complains when POV is the first thing they see. Even though Loic said it was good, armchair racers still piled on. Right up until yesterday even!
Question: In a race or during qualifying, if a rider has a minor crash and gets back on his bike but the rider after him is going to overtake him, what's the policy? Do the race officials flag the first rider and make him pull over to yield to the faster rider? If not, can the faster rider appeal and request a re-run?
Hi, I've worked as a marshal a few times. In such a case we didn't let them consciously overtake, we radioed the starting number of the faster, running up racer and he got a new start from the race control.
Somebody else mentioned one of the solutions, which can be a re-run for the faster rider. Also worth mentioning, the slower rider usually knows they're at risk of being overtaken, and they can choose to pull-over and allow the faster rider to pass. Probably more common amateur racing, less common at a world-cup level.
If you crash and get caught, your race run doesn't matter any more. Don't ruin the run of the person behind you. If you catch the person in front and they impeed you, you're eligible for a re run. World cups have like 1-3 minute gaps due to being filmed so it rarely happens
It's not very common as the time gaps are enough to cover the skill range in the field. Usually the slow/crashed rider will be very aware of the potential of getting in the way. They'll hear track whistles and if they hear 2 close together they'll pull over. When it does happen (maybe they're still lying on the track or something) the faster rider gets a re-run. Usually slotting in just before the next wave of fast riders (so rather than being last down the hill, they would come down 11th from the end for example)
Sure it’s time vital did more interviews, or maybe just a mark of respect to interview Amaury as he has been a huge miss. I just hope he is back next year.
This is not some over-maintained austrian bike park, this is proper french mtb track!
Bring back Meribel from a few years back…..not this flow track!!!
@@davidanderson1639 You wouldn't have any flow down this track
You're the kind of conservative person who wants to always see the same kind of track. Boring.

Except for the top half, that's a snoozer.
3:42 "la vache!" for real...Jackson with the gap of insanity 😮🔥
Great trackside atmosphere, raceday-crowds are gonna deliver 🥰
That was nice but who gapped onto the rock a bit later..?
Thanks Vital! This track is so sick. It's so nice to finally see an old school style track instead of park
That track is looking like a dream for a WC... I hope the weather does not ruin it. Charge on boys and girls! Rooting for Jackson on this one

I complained on Loic’s pov, but I have to say it looks super fun right here and we might see some great show. finaly !

The last race the course was awesome. This one might be better.
sick af
That net made what would have been a baaaad crash into a laugh! Track safety is hugely important.
I love how half the riders are sponsored by redbull
If it is a wet race.... gonna be brutal.
I really hope this one stays fairly dry, would be awesome to see the full speed of the riders for race runs
New track, new excitement
Track looks fast as fck.
Looking forward to some track walk footage to really be able to work it out.
Fast but also a lot of control and timing needed to get it right. Not just hold it wide open fast like a lot of tracks these days.
Proper Gnarles Barkley this! Downhill ain’t dead
What if it rains. Can't wait Race Day !
Would struggle to ride down there.. wouldnt even attempt it after rain lol
This track looks like it would be super sketchy if it rains... I hope it stays dry though!
So much off camber in the wet would be utterly nuts.

....round the outside, round the outside....
Cameras don't show how steep this track is.
Jackson at 1:18 lmaooo
Steep…
That's not hero dirt.
That's just plain old dirt.
Just add water.
Then you'll find out.
