that spot is legendary for that type of fishing but different bait kill the opal eye there for many years all day!! video bring back memories and that fish is called a sargo

Hey JHooks! Nice video man.
You know, you can reach the jetty on the far side of the 72nd place jetty - park in the Ballast Point lot all the way back out by the street - there is a bridge where the old timers fish, look to the side of it and there is a gate. You can walk all the way out past the restaurant and out onto the rocks. You can get all the way out to the opposite light tower that way.

What time were you out there? I was out in the same location today on Labor Day. I was fishing close to the lighthouse around 5pm. There was a lot of people fishing off the jetty today, so I may have cross your path without knowing. By the way, the first fish you caught is a sargo. They are pretty good fish to eat, especially when they're a little bigger. Thanks for sharing the video.
