    I am one of those people who looked down on Vidit because he seemed to be lagging behind in comparison to Pragg, Gukesh, and Arjun till 2022. In 2023, Vidit proved the likes of me wrong and he made it to Candidates. May he go all the way and win Candidates this time around! :)

      It's sad to know that people lose hope in individuals so soon. There are many who admire someone as they reach success, but only a few show faith and support.
      At least in my case once I form a connection, I never doubt the said person's comeback. Their hard work, perseverance and mainly the process to achieve something that they are capable of gives the feeling of a personal victory.

    • @brodaism
      @brodaism Pƙed 2 měsĂci +3

      Only if winning is everything. He cares more about being a good human being rather than winning at any cost.
      Let him do what he likes to do..let's not degrade meditation because a chess player didn't win a chess match.

    • @ananb7747
      @ananb7747 Pƙed 2 měsĂci

      @@brodaism Yes , in sports it is all about winning , u don't come into sports just for passion , titles matter , ask any top player , he will say the same , the fact he needs meditation to calm down himself while rest of the lobby doesn't need it , shows there is something inherently wrong with Visit when it comes to handling tough positions , meditation just gives u an illusion of calmness , but to achieve greatness u need to be calm all the time with or without meditation
      The fact I criticised him for meditation is because he sponsors it on stream and sells meditation courses but when it comes to real life , I hv seen him giving away winning positions in lot of matches in last one yr despite his meditation ritual before and in between matches
      How can u blunder after meditating đŸ€”

      I think meditation is to get in the zone, bring his attention to the present moment before the start of the game. during the game anything can happen. while I agree Vidit needs to learn to better cope with time pressure and manage his emotions well during the game

      You gotta understand that Magnus is generational,
      when magnus was 17 he played his first candidates and won his first candidates at the age of 22 on the other hand vidit is playing his first candidates this year.
      For me, FIDE grand Swiss was The first/2nd major achievement for Vidit in the global chess (thus qualified for the candidates, I am not saying that vidit playing candidates this late is bad or something (in chess age doesn't really matter, VISHY became World champion at the age of 37)
      All I'm trying to say is Vidit was NOT considered as a great prodigy like pragg, gukesh, alireza, Magnus himself or even arjun and nihal sarin at the global stage of chess.
      He was also not in the category of hikaru, Nepo, Fabiano, Anish, etc. But he worked hard and now you see him making some headlines and competing with world's top 10 properly.
      That's why when everyone was hoping him up before candidates I was like "guys he's playing experienced candidates players in candidates tournament for the first time how can you expect him to win it just like that". That's kinda dumb imo.
