This is the only video that my teachers made me watch that I liked
=D Glad I could help
what do/did you studying/studied?
@@viktorchocolate6073 it’s been a while but I think it was English class, since English is my first language it’s a reading and writing class. We were learning about characters and how to write them I think
@@viktorchocolate6073 the channel name is ELA, I think that was the class. English language arts
Overall, this video was very good and useful for illustrating these differences to a class, but I really am having trouble with your classification of Lord of the Rings characters in this video, particularly the analysis of Boromir as a flat character.
asexualchloe I completely understand... I went back and forth on that one myself because of his brief moment of selflessness at the end of FOTR. Ultimately I landed on flat because when you ONLY look at the first movie, he’s generally single minded and used more as a symbol for corruption and patriotic duty than to function as a developed character. This of course changes throughout the trilogy. Looking back, I disagree with quite a bit of my analyses in my videos, but since I can’t go back and edit them, I hope at the very least they create discussion and debate in the classroom :-)
Nice video😇😇😇😇
good explanation! thx for sharing!
Glad it was helpful!
0:12 in i see the flash so i have t rate this work of art 1000000000000000000/10 what i really love the flash

Would it be possible tag this video as safe for kids? Our filter blocks it unless it says safe for kids and I'd love to share this with my students.
I’m so sorry you’re having that difficulty, I don’t have any restrictions on it. I’m not sure why it’s not working for your kiddos
I'm watching this cause of school but anyone else think Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul is a dynamic character
So is can a character be for example falt static or is it just one or the other
Thanks i see this thinks in my class of literary
That quick Ward inclusion made me happy.
Speaking of Ward, I’m writing an essay about Aristotle’s four character types (Virtuous, Continent, Incontinent, and Vicious). They are judged by the three questions: “Does a person have a functional sense of reason?”, “Do a person’s desires always line up with what their reason says is right?”, and “Do they make the right choice?”. I had to pick a character for each one. For Virtuous (Yes, Yes, Yes) I’m doing the Hardy Boys, for Continent (Yes, No, Yes) I’m doing the reluctant hero/Seth and Kendra from Fablehaven, and for Vicious (No, Yes, No) I’m doing Dio Brando from JoJo. I had already chosen Ward for Incontinent (Yes, No, No) , so it was a really fun coincidence to see him in the vid.
Mr. Baugher is the only reason why this video has more that 3 views.
That’s so true

what's the difference between round and dynamic ?
Round refers to the characteristics of a character, as in their personality, description, etc., the overall development by the author. They feel like a 3-dimensional person.
Dynamic refers to whether they remain that same person throughout the piece. Do they change?
Someone can be round, but stay the same. Think Captain America, he is generally the same person throughout the films: honorable, loyal, moral, etc. he’s also round because he can’t be summed up in a couple words, he has depth.
Whereas Tony goes through major changes throughout the series. He’s always a 3-dimensional person, but he goes from selfish to selfless, individualistic to a teammate, etc.
Korg on the other hand is flat. He only has a few character traits. He is also static because those few character traits do not change.
Superman is an example of flat character arc captain america too.

why did my ela teacher send me this
Umm, spider man ffh, dont be mean to Ned.
Did your teacher made you take notes on this
Darth Maul is not a flat character AT ALL, did you not watch the clone wars?
BraeDrizzt23 I have and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, general public usually hasn’t, so he definitely stands out as a missed opportunity in the prequels, and I wanted to point him out.
Malekieth- well he’s malekieth

I clicked for like what a recurring, guest, main, starring, featured character means.
Julian Garcia I’m sorry you were disappointed. As of right now, I’m focusing the channel on literary terminology. Perhaps in the future I can move to screenwriting as well, as a former film student I would love to, so I’ll keep your suggestion in mind.
Samantha Clair it ok
how u know I've been putting it off all week?? I smell witch!!

are you here because your ElA teacher sent you here like or comment
Fugitive isn't spelled fugative
So psychopaths are flat and static character. Then, they don't have character development and should not be used in novels
lol
Don’t you dare insult Jazz like that!! 0:42 Jazz is the greatest Transformer ever!!!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡
s/o to Ms. McKinney for making us watch this 🕺🏽
we dont care
Yeah , Just because You have to watch a video doesn’t mean you have to comment About who brought you here
AlexZTheGamer YT y’all seem mad, that’s tough
Daisha Gilliam no we’re just saying That , just because your teacher sends you a video , doesn’t mean you have to comment about how your teacher brought you , and besides our comments are 3 weeks old , so we don’t care about it anymore , And Why did it take you 3 weeks to respond!? And besides I’m replying after your comment is 25 minutes old
Did she really just say that Boromir is a flat character? SMH
