      Maybe 3 weeks ago....there were a couple of different videos on CZcams that were short mashups of 'Footloose'....set against one of those Seattle protestors, right as he threw a molotov cocktail....setting his own feet on fire. Set to the beat of the music, it was hilarious. Just do a SEARCH for 'Footloose antifa protestor'. Anything like that. You'll find them.

  • @emilybennett6567

    The whole episode with Kenny Loggins is hilarious. He's so bossy and alpha. Daryl remains the perfect host as his guest begins stressing out and ordering his band around and stressing out some more. Kenny casually name-drops the three huge movies he made soundtracks for (Footloose, Top Gun and Caddyshack) and brags that he almost did Flashdance except he had broken ribs or something. To his credit, Daryl doesn't take the bait and start listing his platinum records/sales figures.
    My absolute favorite moment is at the end of "This Is It" when KL notes that it is a complicated song and that he originally thought it might be hard for his host to play/sing, "but then I remembered [who's House I was in.]"
    And after all that, it is amazing how much of my life had a soundtrack provided by these two silver foxes. Glad I got to see them play together. Cheers!

      I saw both Kenny and Hall & Oates back in the 70s when they were just starting to get really big. Kenny had the wildest energy and danced all over the stage! He was fantastic! Hall & Oates - what can I say? Absolutely perfect in everything they did. Unbelievable live! God those were great times!

    • @lesliebeacom4567
      @lesliebeacom4567 Před 3 lety +3

      Forgot to mention something.... "This is it" was played in the locker room of the SF 49ers during their first Super Bowl game in 1981. They were playing the Bengals, and were ahead at halftime but had made mistakes. Bill Walsh played this song to get the players fired up. "This is it! You're going no further" the song says. The words were inspiring and the Niners went on to win their first Super Bowl- the first of 4 in a decade.

The schools were so big in St. Augustine back in 1969. Pleasant Hill (Louisiana) had 300 kids in grades K-12. I couldn’t resist. • @aprildavis-washington5734

    Daryl Hall and John Oates did a best hits album in 1983 called Rock 'N Soul Part 1. All of the songs but 2 were classics. Now these 2 are well known: Say It Isn't So and Adult Education. One of the best live songs you'll ever hear is on this album (Original 1979 X-Static album) but this one is from a concert at the Montreal Forum in 1983 - Wait For Me. In 1983 they also released 2 single versions of the Christmas song Jingle Bell Rock with each one singing lead. 1988 Oh Yeah - Downtown Life, Everything Your Heart Desires, and Missed Opportunity. 1990 Change Of Season with So Close and Don't Hold Back Your Love. 2003 Do It For Love (Title song). 2004 Our Kind Of Soul is a covers album but they included a song that was written for them in the 80's by Dan Hartman (RIP) but they were working on H2O so he recorded it for a movie in 1984: I Can Dream About You for the movie Streets Of Fire. In 2006 they even recorded a Christmas album: Home For Christmas. Also Daryl had a solo album in 1986 with Three Hearts In The Happy Ending Machine: Dreamtime, Foolish Pride, I Wasn't Born Yesterday, and Someone Like You. 1993 Soul Alone: Stop Loving Me, Stop Loving You and I'm In A Philly Mood. In 1995 Daryl did a duet with Dusty Springfield - Wherever Would I Be. In 2002 John also had a solo album career: Phunk Shui - Including a cover of Curtis Mayfield's People Get Ready. 3 albums from 2008-2013 then in 2018 he went back to his Folk roots with Arkansas and also the title song. Sorry so much but I tried to break it down with each video when you did a song on an album but I realized they had so many albums. I think you might like the official video from Say It Isn't So. I have to give you the url because there is a bad video version of it that was done first but they remade it because Hall and Oates insisted: czcams.com/video/_R5xIdXwNMk/video.html

    I love watching professional (or just good, experienced) musicians behind the scenes. You know they make it look so easy figuring out a part and how it's played, then just bouncing along. And the people who play and sing are amazing, I'm usually concentrating too hard on playing correctly to sing at all.

    You have to remember that It's Daryl's house. These people have never played with Kenny Loggins before. they're doing this on the fly

    They get on the same page so quick! Unreal, and so awesome! The best part of Daryl's house to me is the enjoy these sessions so much, they seem to get lost in the music! So great and I am so glad I found this! Cee Lo was the first one I watched, so damn awesome!!! They just start jamming enjoying the hell out of each other!

    It’s a common things among musicians that there are just certain classic songs that you don’t even realize that you know the lyrics or how to play it until you actually start playing the intros into them. It’s happened to MANY of us

      Yep! I forgot that was Loggins/Messina first. So pure! Then I was thinking he did Leather & Lace with Stevie Nicks, but that was Don Henley! My old brain glitches sometimes! Plus-they often covered each other’s songs or colabbed or just did a live jam session, so it’s easy to mix em up at times...they were all great!
