    Hey Martin , I found a set of those heavier duty ev6 connectors for my 02 Dakota 4.7 rebuild and in the process of soldering them in. One question, does this really change the resistance enough to throw codes ? I’ve read some people saying that and others say it’s a none issue if soldered correctly. Thanks again

    • @martinbuilt
      @martinbuilt  Před 2 lety +2

      There is no added resistance or enough to throw any codes I can guarantee you that.

    • @martinbuilt

      Look at the connector and you'll notice that there is a number 1 and 2 for each wire on the connector. Match that up with the one you're changing.
      You may have to look very carefully at the connector to find those numbers but they're there.

      Chris Ogaz
      Yes you should only have the positive cable coming from the battery. Then one connector on the back of the alternator with two wires. I hope it's not your voltage regulator because that is inside the ECM. Those are considered a very good and not prone to going out

    • @martinbuilt
      @martinbuilt  Před 2 lety +1

      I don't think it would do any damage to the ECM I'm sure it has fail safe's installed for that it would simply not operate that injector.

    • @martinbuilt

      Thank you, well it is something I do for a living. Like when we were building the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas I soldered over 500 mic lines which is over 1500 wires you tend to get pretty good at it. So I enjoyed soldering instead of using any type of solderless splice. If you're able to Tin the wires before you actually join them together this will help make it easier to solder them together
