- When Traxxas announced that they were going to enter the scale truck world, a lot of people said, “Meh.” But, don’t sleep on this rig. Right from the box, it’s a contender.

Never thought I would get a crawler but the trx4 is a very capable crawler love it
It's really an amazing rig.
I'm saving up for one so I'm deep diving via review videos of the rc truck I've raced Traxxas and now my family members want me to do crawling and hey look it's my first vehicle I ever had as a crawler truck and from what I can see it's better than the real one
You can't do wrong with the TRX4. From the box, it was able to out perform my modified SCX10.2
Your video motivated me to get one. Thank you so very much . I valued your opinion. I remember when you were all about going fast , then you got into crawling.
I have done it all.
Fast...
Slow...
Dirt...
Carpet...
I love these trx4's. I just wish they came without the body mounting holes and had a mechanism like the maxx trucks.
Hi Joe got mine today and you can see where the extra cost has gone into this truck, Traxxas have really stepped up with the additions straight out of the box, i'm over the moon with this one, thanks for your review buddy.
Right? It’s a really good truck. I’m sure you would be able to run that for years without having to upgrade anything. But really, who actually does that?
Good review, i've been beating the $%#^ out of my Bronco for a long time now and it hasn't broke down. Tough trucks, well built and very detailed. Highly recommend. Worth every penny
Westernsharpie's RC Agreed. We have been using the Bronco since Mother’s Day with no upkeep and it’s still going
This truck is lots of fun to drive. The unlocking diffs and 2 speed are really nice on sport mode. Crawling in low gear with diffs locked is an outstanding performer. The truck has trail mode #4 with medium drag brake and mode #5 crawl mode and high drag brake. This truck is superior to the axial scx10 2.
I’m going to agree with you. Out of the box, ot performs better.
Awesome review/over view
Thanks man. Thanks for watching.
When this beauty came out i had to have it. The 79 Bronco as well. Now im just waiting for the Proline 77 Ramcharger body to throw on my TRX4 Sport. Great review Joe 👍🏼
Yes yes yes yes. Do that!!! I can’t wait to see.
Ya me too
Love the Rallye wheels!
I agree. I think the wheels on the Blazer are better than the wheels for the Bronco.
This truck has the best scale body I've ever seen on a 1/10 crawler. I am happy with my Gen 8 Scout, but am tempted to buy this because of how awesome it looks.
Agreed!!! It’s amazing. The Bronco is amazing too.
It does look good from a distance but don't be fooled they decals on the side it's not plastic Chrome it's decals
This truck is sick. Liked!
Thank you!
very nice review man
Thank you. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
Lol "don't touch my truck" 😂 happy wife quiet life pal👍👍👍
liking the Blazer body....I got the Bronco for Christmas this year and love it! would like to get just the Blazer body tho
When you have multiple bodies, it’s like having multiple trucks.
Nice truck. Thank you. Got one last weekend. Orange blazer
Right man! That's awesome. Traxxas did a really good job with these trucks.
Waiting three years was an error. I remember when the only option we had was pan chassis. B2 t2 . Composite t3 b3. Nothing realistic from u s companies. What a cool concept. I don't want get it dirty
You can remove the tires from the wheels and reuse them over again.
Wrap a wheel/tire assembly in aluminum foil like a baked potato. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees then turn it off. Place your foil wrapped wheel/tire in the oven for 5 minutes. Remove from oven, unrap and while still warm pop the tires off the wheels and allow to cool. That's it, afterwards you'll be able to use either wheel or tire or foams over again. Doesn't destroy the foams or discolor the chrome on the wheels like it did back in the old days when people would boil the wheels in hot water to remove the tires.
I've done countless SC truck wheels, REVO wheels and SCX10 1 wheels.
Great tip. Thanks for sharing
Great tip. Five minutes in off enough ?
Beautiful truck.
they do look really nice. Traxxas knocked it out of the park.
Good job! Finally subscribe to your channel.
Thanks!!!
Thanks for video. I saw it on Facebook marketplace for 90$ i'm thinking of buying 1 or 2
If you can get one for that price. Get it. The shocks alone are worth that, and they are amazing to put on anything.
Get the Bluetooth for the rx and you can tune it a lot more. I have one in mine and the hobbywing axe 550 3300kv system. So much adjustments can be made right from your phone when out on the trails.
I’ll do that!!!
As far as you can see
What esc
Great vid 👍🏻Is the k5 identical to the bronco? Do they have the same wheel base?
Take off the body, and they are the same. Well...body and wheels. Otherwise, the same.
Attach your power wires for your lights to magnetic body mounts. No push pins, no connectors
That’s also an option
You can mount a servo winch there. They are far more superior than the small aftermarket winch.
But if you already own the small aftermarket winch....
I'm shortening my Defender chassis to 12.3, because I don't like the long Defender body. There are a few pre-painted Orange K5 bodies on eBay, but don't come with the chrome grill, bumper, door handles, etc. I might still go that route, because it would be still be cheaper than buying a full RTR.
All of the small body parts add up in price...big time
Wheel base is shorter on blazer
Greate car!
It really is. We have been using the TRX-4 Bronco since last year and it’s amazing.
The first truck I owned was a 82 GMC 2500 orange highway truck. It looked like this little truck. It sounded so cool stock with that evil 4 barrel carb. My 93 f250 straight 6 was a much better truck. Ran smoother and plenty of power and almost no rust and a long lasting motor. My gmc was a rust bucket, constant break downs and a motor that died early. This truck drives so nice compared to my axial scx 10 2. The axial reminds me of 1927 ford model t .
My wife's TRX4 drives WAY better than my highly modified SCX10 (Red Devil Recon), and well modified SCX10.2 (F-Bomb)
@@scalefreakgaming thank you for text. I am learning about the tiny truck new hobby. I went fast dirt and on road since 1987 gold tub. My trx4 will be cherished for years. My mom liked your video.
Thanks mom!!!
My wife won’t even let me touch her TRX-4. She knows I love it.
The shocks on those trucks are amazing.
Hi joe. I think a trx4 is in your future. You can modify it. It's nice to include your wife in the hobby. Your race car driving station was something I had thought about in the past doing when I was younger and had really nice new corvettes till the new home industry collapsed here in northern illinois. I have a new 4 tec2.0 brushless traxxas 3s . It's amazing 50 plus mph box stock. It likes newly paved seal coat parking lots to make tires last. The traxxas tiny race car can take a beating. I'm not nice to it. I do cool down the motor between runs. Very few broken parts. Are you still full throttle at the gym and car sales manager Acura. I enjoyed road America and indy. I can see you are a race car enthusiast.
Should do a review on this n the RC4WD blazer...
Oh man! I would love to
great video, I have the trx4 defender & so want to buy this as the chassis is better plus it has diff lock etc
The locking diffs are pretty cool, but really...we never REALLY used them like they were supposed to me. Mostly just locked all the time.
Would my trx4 defender body fit on the K5 chassis as they are slightly different I believe
I’m not 100% sure. I thought the chassis was the same for everything. Maybe it’s just different mounts.
It's a longer wheel base 12.8 not a 12.3. Won't fit
I cant decide which one to get, I love the Bronco and Blazer, impossible.
Scott Ryder I have always loved the F150’s, so I would go Bronco
It's a tough choice! I'm looking into getting one of these for my first crawler, and while I actually like the real K5 better than the Broncos, something about that Sunburst Bronco body is just amazing. I really like this K5, but that Bronco is really calling to me, haha.
Maybe get both, pick which complete one you want, and then pick up the other body after the fact.
I don’t see the $30 difference between the Blazer & the Bronco, the only thing I see missing on both is the interior. Have seen guys putting Axial Bomer interiors in them.
Is there actually a price difference now?
Amain still shows $489 for the Blazer
your comment about a lot of space for changing the motor out I found that not to be true to 540 can seems to be the biggest thing you can put in there
I feel there is a 550 in there right now. I’ll have to check the next time I get the body off.
I would have to watch the video again, but I also feel it’s really easy to change the motor. They designed it so it’s a couple screws and it comes out the top.
I’m sold on this truck.
Did you get one?
Scale Freak Yes! Arrived yesterday. Got the orange one too. So much bigger than I thought it would be. Can’t wait to take it out!
It’s a really really well built truck. RC4WD makes a good front bumper for a winch
Scale Freak It really is! I really like the sunset Bronco body too but I’ve got a soft spot for the Blazer even though we don’t get them over here in the U.K.
I just bought the blazer and my radio don't have the trigger adjustment.
I love this vid thx a million
Awesome man. Thank you for watching. I hope it helps.
i know its a crawler but how fast does it go? i ordered one a few days ago but just want to know if its dead slow or if its able to take a small jump
On three cell and high gear, it hoots. It will jump for sure. And Traxxas shocks are great
I bought it 3 weeks ago front tires hit on the front of the fenders
Try adding some preload to the front shocks
I put a gold bar in the front for weight!
Good review dude. Just ordered one of this. So if i understand I correctly you can't just lock only the rear diff?? It's front locked, all locked and all open?
panic mike yup
@@paulbricklayer4491 Found a video on how to reverse this and make the rear lock first and then all. Would probably change it as well after some run's
Correct. But that’s sort of the way you would want it.
Yes.
@@paulbricklayer4491 I upgraded the radio to a 7ch and now i can do whatever pleases me. 😁 Thanks.
Whats the range of driving..How far can you drive it away from the controller
Real , very far.
Very far indeed. You can go on forever until you can’t see it anymore lol I’m serious
Yes it's amazing. Trx4 blows my scx10. 2 away
Great review, did I hear you right, I cannot buy new tires and reuse the factory wheels?
You would have to get the glue off
@@scalefreakgaming yes and it probably does not come off too easily..
What is the speed
I have one but it has not had a east life
And how has it held up against the beating?
How much are they ?
Is the truck waterproof from factory
Yup. Traxxas does a really good job keeping things dry. Now, that being said, don’t expect it will work for a long time under water. Leave it fully submerged for too long and water may seep into the receiver box. But if you wanted to slash in the puddles or hose it off. You’re good.
How fast can it go.
Faster then a walk. Slower than a jog.
mike23s10 About 12-13mph.
Only that fast?
How much did this one cost?
Whatever your local hobby shop charges. Traxxas is pretty price fixed.
Good Citizen Like 500$, or you can get the Bronco body version which is identical except for rims for like 450$, give or take a few dollars depending on your store.
The bad thing is, in new Zealand, it’s 1k, around $600USD.
As a 12yr old, this is hard to get, i get 2 dollars a day.
Please tell me if it’s worth to save 2 yrs for.
A like in less than 2 mins, thx?
If you were going to save that money to buy one of them, they yes...it’s worth it.
But if you can use that money to invest until you are making $3 a day...do that.
And then use that $3 until it’s $4 a day.
I just happen to be at the ipad at the moment to commented.
Oh thank you! :)
I at the moment have a 2wd slasher, i’ve had it for around 2 yrs now, i’m thinking it’s time to upgrade, i’m also starting to like the bronco. (Not the new one)
It’s nice to not have the torque twist that the Axial has.
Robert Lipscomb If you mirror the trans on an SCX10, it helps with that. But you are right. It’s always been bad
these trucks are amazing... but here in Brazil, when we can find it to buy, it's very, but very expensive... almost R$ 9.000,00... (something about US$ 1800,00!!!!)...so, the only thing i can do is watch your videos... LoL...
Yikes, that’s an unreal amount of money
@@scalefreakgaming how much, does it cost, a truck like these, in your city?
@@brazdeaquinojrify i got my blazer for about $500 US.
@@stevesmedley7709 Cool! when you don't want this truck anymore, sell it to me...
but it has to be very cheap ...LoL...a big hug for you
The blazer is 30 more here in the states. Lhs said its gm fees most likely.
Is it watterproof
Yes, from the box, you can get really
Muddy
Looks great but come on the price 😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you for not doing an unboxing video... they are so lame!
Unboxing is easy money for a CZcamsr. We need to milk every penny out of these things
Compared to the Bronco the detail on this blazer is horrible I bought one two days ago and very unhappy with it if I had to open it before I left the store I probably wouldn't have bought it... the chrome trim on the side is just a decal not plastic like on the Bronco and looks bad probably will start coming off after a period of time the body also seems to be thinner than on the Bronco no inside supports . Had to move the front and rear bumper out one hole in order to get body to fit it doesn't look too bad but I would have expected more from Traxxas when I compare it to the Bronco. . Brand new out of the box I could get mine not to run Head to stay online with Traxxas forever trying to reprogram the ESC and there's no guarantee that it's going to keep running I haven't used it since we got it going two days ago
I almost got that one but the Bronco won out.
It did for us as well.
Sunningmill are selling these for $90
And it’s trx-4
I have no idea what you are talking about with this one
"SunningMall"
I looked into this when they advertise the Bronco for $89 and all you get is the body shell that's all you get they go way out of their way into thinking the whole truck there's another eBay site that's doing the same thing it shows all the Specht measurements everything even has a video believe me I was first tempted to order this but I kept reading and come to find out it's only the body
Even the body, that’s a good price. As long as it has all of the small plastics that come with it.
Can’t like the video. Truck not tested. Not a good review. Didn’t see it driven.
Then watch other videos. I have other videos with the bronco being run and this truck being run with Trax on it.
Scale Freak I’ve watched and liked! Thx for responding
Night0v0 Urrr. Silly
Do you have the new taller tracs.
