The roar of that v8 will live on forever
An old (carbureted) american v8 with long tube headers & flowmaster 40 mufflers will get ya damn close :)
@@thefrustratedguitarist4737 really close. Both Eleanors and a Flowmaster are chambered, welded mufflers. Eleanor used a stroked 351W at a raceway for all her exhaust sounds using Dr Gas/Spintech mufflers. They make exhaust systems for NASCAR.

There's something special about this movie. I don't know if it's Nick's acting, the Mustang, or the nostalgia of good ol' times...but there's deffinetly something special. My favorite movie
+cyrusthevrus The entire Eleanor scene puts all of anything Fast & Furious did to absolute SHAME. It's almost like the movie builds you up for this moment.
Its Nostalgia 😃😃i was 17 when i saw it!! but it a glorious looking movie best car scenes ever
cyrusthevrus it's the car as Nick Cage isn't an impressive actor lol
cyrusthevrus For me it would be every aspects of this movie. Even though I was in my mom's womb when this came out, I wish could've seen it in the movies with my own eyes. Times back then seemed so laid back and chill, nowadays the theater is quiet. Plus for a car person like me, having this movie come out one year and Fast And The Furious out the next is a ecstatic time for me, but I just wasn't able to witness either.
_The entire Eleanor scene puts all of anything Fast & Furious did to absolute SHAME. It's almost like the movie builds you up for this moment_
Have you seen the original? I haven´t, but supposedly in the first "60 Seconds" the Eleanor scene lasted like 40 minutes...
This car stole the whole show. The movie maybe criticized but the car managed to become one of the most iconic car in films.
I have the same toy car
rockzs74r it’s the same car the John Wick except it’s a 1969
Also in need for speed movie
its just a car
@@kpsayyed84 Elenor is a GT500, John Wicks car is a Mach 1, and the NfS Movie Mustang is custom built
Eleanor of the original is also just as iconic.
not only is Nike Cage in trouble for stealing 60 cars, he also stole the Declaration of Independence. (LOL)

Jk Vose that cracked me up 😁😁
Should've had the same black cop chasing him in national treasure.
Also, for stealing someone's face.
I'm not only impressed with how close the cops are on his tail through most of the chase but rather how dope that police department is for servicing that e39 BMW
@Adrian Vegas but the bmw is much more reliable and German engineering has always been some of the best out there. But yeah logically it'd be too expensive for the police to maintain a car like that
Adrian Vegas are u kidding me this is an E39 5 series these cars are awesome many are driving around fine today with over 300,000km, and the build quality is solid, unlike the modern bmws these ones were actually built to last. They arent crap cars i own one and its awesome, they might not be awesome forpitting but they outperform crown vics in everything else
Adrian Vegas yeah true the e39 isnt good at everything, but i dont think its fair to chuck it in the same bag as the shitbox german cars we get nowdays, these 5series are proven to be reliable and are considered the last of the best bmws.... as a police car i dont think itll suit anything other than highway patrol the crown vic is obviously a great car but these two a fitted for different roles, all i wanted to say was the e39 doesnt deserve any hate bc its a really good car easy to work on and parts are cheap
Adrian Vegas nah allgood man after 2004 bmw just made unreliable pieces of crap, i dont know anything about crown vics coz we dont em in australia but i know theyre a great car especially for the police✌🏻✌🏻
Adrian Vegas I drive a nice 2000 E46, keeps me on road
one of cages finest ever performances him and elenor will go down in movie history as one of the greatest partnerships

Are you sure? Cause... you just went through a wall.
King Purcival I guess I can tick that off of my bucket list...
Wrecking ball to the drivers side door of an unsafe 80's car... "I think I'm ok". LOL.... Right.
Tim Olyphant was so nonchalant about it like he sees stuff like this all the time 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha good joke
Cage's 100 mph jump off the flatbed truck. Not knowing what all was on the other side. His fight to get the Mustang under control after landing.... That was amazing!
its a ford and yes they always start first time... made the best V8 engines in the world.

It doesn't matter, i can watch for the 1000th time, that little theme song right before he sprints the ramp gives me major goosebumps
The memory of this moment, when he risk everything for his brother, push the gas to its limit and fly over the cars and the music plays, it's one of the best moments I have in any movies ever! Makes my blood boils... Thumbs up.
Am I the only one who almost cried seeing that Mustang practically destroyed?
Mist the SkyWing seeing the crane crush it feels like a punch to the stomach
As a kid, with it going to the crane, I yelled "NOOOOOO!!!"

on the bright side, they never used a real Shelby mustang
I remember watching this one day and i called my dad in to watch the chase scene. He got a kick out of it when she stalled and he was talking to her. He passed in 2003. Ive had my 09 silver GT for a year and a half and Ive loved every daily mile of her. All comes back to this movie. Miss ya pops
I love how the broken mirror suddenly becomes unbroken in many of the scenes 😅
The sound of the Mustang is orgasmic.
5:46 - 5:50 this scene, I don't know it has something magical in it. Weather, time, view of the bridge and the sound of car makes this shot magnificent. Every time I see this I get chills down my spine.

What importing a car to a warehouse is like in GTA 5.
I play it on ps3

Except it's getting the car to the seller undamaged that's like this.
Welcome to 2020, now this is the equivalent of losing the cops in NFS Heat.
24 years later and this whole scene is incredible!

Nothing like that sweet sound of an American V8 muscle car 🇺🇸
-And the sad feeling in fuel expenses on those beasts....
That Mustang was a beast car. When I first saw this car I wanted it so dam bad!
This was my very first Nick Cage movie and it’s still my favorite till this day
This movie oft still one of my all time favorites, something that you can watch a dozen times and you will never get bored of. Such a Classic. And god, Eleanor is such a beauty.
I dont give a damn if critics hated this movie, this movie was an INSTANT CLASSIC! SCREW YOU CRITICS!
The opinion of critics don't mean shit anyway
The only opinion that matters is the audience
That car must have amazing suspension work done it to it.
That car COULD NOT have survived that jump-utterly destroyed!! 😭
it had... and also the jump wasnt nearly as long.. they did it in 2 jumps.. first one over the lorry ramp into boxes.. second one smaller over camera into the road.. even with heavy duty special shock absorbers the car was seriously damaged
@@sparrowlt well, yeah, it's a 2 ton chunk of American steel. There's no way in hell it was going to drive away unscathed lol
They used multiple cars
That reminded me of the jump from smokey and the bandit were he jumps the bridge they used camera angles to try and hide it but if you watch it destroys the trans am same thing here with mustang but trans AM's are a dime a dozen I hope the mustang they jumped was saleable
I’m not usually big on a second part to a film, but who else would love to see the old crew from this film make another newer film? I think it would be awesome.
Nicolas Cage Has got the Midas Touch in the screen Everything he touches turns to gold amazing acting ability
Don't forget he is a Coppola.
This movie has to have been the inspiration behind NFS Most Wanted: it literally looks like that whole game was based on the premise of this scene.
It actually was believe it or not. Along with the police for Most wanted as well. Hence the character Cross.
I always thought it would have been cool if detective Castlebeck’s undercover car was an E39 BMW M5. Rather that the basic looking 540i he drove in the movie. It would have made for a more exciting dynamic between the two cars. 👍
Those 540i's were no slouch though. I got my ass drug down the strip by one in my Lexus LS430
It's not a car. It's a dream.

One of the most beautiful movie car! BMW E39 540i 😍
An old friend of my fathers, some years ago dont remember the year, had a boss who owned one of the Eleanors- as i understand it they made 5 for this film, and he owned number 5. The boss was set to have his Eleanor as the centerpiece to a car show in California, and asked my father's friend to take it across a few states. So, prior to and after the car show, the Eleanor stayed in my driveway, for a total of a month. And yes, my family and I were allowed to drive around in it.
you are the luckiest person
John Moreta was probably around 2003 to no later than 2005 id say when it was. And btw the rides we took around in it were around town i cant remember if any of us ever took it on the freeway but i doubt any1 did considering the risk factor in doing so.
I would let someone pluck every hair off my scrotum just so i could drive that for an hour
Connor notyerbidness You are one Lucky guy because I couldn't comprehend around that time and you got have this masterpiece sit in front of your home...... Does he still have it until this day?
TNXtdogg well the guy i know stopped working for the guy years ago, but i assume his ex boss still owns it
In my opinion this scene reminds me of the final chase in NFS Most Wanted when you get your BMW M3 GTR back from Razor
NFS Most Wanted did seem to take a lot from this movie. The chase music, the principle, and the main cop and their assistant!
It's the filters, man. The lighting looks so familiar.
it was a long race..but it can be won
I never really wanted it back. AWFUL bodykit and the engine note sounded dreadful and nothing like a BMW 6-pot should - I should know as I owned and drove one for 6 years!
I am Lion Man The M3 GTR was a very limited series with a V8, here a quote from Wikipedia:
The E46 GTR came to life in February 2001, powered by the P60B40 a 3,997 cc V8 producing 330 kW (449 PS; 443 hp).Unlike the straight-six powered M3 versions, which were outpaced by the Porsche 996 GT3, the racing version of the E46 M3 GTR, entered by Schnitzer Motorsport, was very successful in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) with BMW factory driver Jörg Müller securing the 2001 GT title.
Dominic Toretto and everyone else in the F&F franchise have nothing on Nic Cage.

I was in the Air Force and in Las Vegas when I saw this movie. When we left and saw just as many awesome cars outside it really made the experience next level.
I love how in all these films construction workers just continue on working 😂🤣
Chip Foose did an awesome job on Eleanor and that car made the movie watchable
5:45 the sound of that engine 😍😍
In my life, i've always had a fixation on cars, I've owned and daily driven over 10 cars so far, starting from a dinky 1.6 OVC 73 hp hatchback back in 1990 to now in 2024 have a AWD 6.2 V8, and out of all the cars i've had I truly see why so many that are lucky enough to own a V8 love the ol American freedoms and the V8 is a true staple of after all these yrs.. I wouldnt trade that feeling a for anything.. Only V8 owners know that feeling! This movie catured that exact feeling beautifully
Always will be one of my favorite movies
Love this movie and ofcourse this handsome men's v8 sound...
Here in 2020 and it is still by far the best chase scene
Have you seen the original eleanor mustang and how this was inspired by it.
Watch "Highway Heat" w Charlie Sheen. The complete movie is a chase scene.
Bullitt with Steve McQueen
No. Best scene is in Ronin.
Hands down still my favorite scene!! The nervous look of Reigns as the police dude shouts "Get out of the car man" Then the "Reigns" as he grips his gun. And Reigns pulling tf off at full speed!!! Epic!!!!!

A lot of people all Cage a bad actor, but I watched his interviews, this man is the nicest in the industry.
Those assholes don't know jack shoot about acting, a maybe about everything.... Young tards with no brains whose culture ends after internet memes and modern musicclips aren't legit for judging an actor's act...not saying it's theyre entire fault though ... it's been a while now society has been producing dumbasses to sell poor and aseptic shit to...
He's done a lot of movies some are bound to be average. He doesn't get credit for lord of war bad luitenant among others. Has some great roles over his career . 👍
Would you say he's nicer than Keanu Reeves,,?
Nick cage travolta and reeves are legends… i love all of them..❤️
the real star is the Cherokee XJ 4:39 he saves the police officer after being hit and destroying a wall
IRL they fold like tinfoil. I know because I tboned one at low speed in a Focus. There is no way he would have survived that impact if he were actually inside that jeep when they did that scene.
I’ve been a movie fan for 50 years and this car chase is by far the most realistic and by far the best sounding in any movie I’ve ever seen to this day …
Smashes mirror off.....several clips during the chase, mirror fixed 🤣
Him - Ment to be one of the greatest drivers ever who's skills behind a wheel is legendary
Also Him - can't even reverse a car without smashing one of the wing mirrors off.
Brilliant. Just brilliant
Not all heroes can be perfect. By having him inadvertently smashing Eleanor's mirror, it shows that even with his excellent driving skills, he's still a human being behind the wheel. Flaws make the character appear more real.
The adrenaline he was facing could kill a new born. You probably couldn’t steer a shopping cart if you were that scared.
Me: wondering if you can do any better. Otherwise, SHUT THE HELL UP!!!
Right my man was being just chased and he had a moment to collect himself. It adds more to the appeal of his character and the movie. Flaws like that make the movie and the character!!!!!
This was the prequel to the Fast & the Furious, and I love it.
0:27 This is the legendary moment of the film.
I love how the dude chasing is getting more and more pissed and the dude in the passenger seat in getting more and more impressed and by the end hes practically in awe. 😂😂😂
Happy 20th Year Anniversary GI60S !!!
0:44 is the kind of bond, I got with my car every morning... lol
This man went from the 6th street bridge in downtown, to San Pedro in 30 seconds...always found that funny 😂
Wow a lot of extra scenes in this one I have never seen.
Got too actually see a couple of Eleanor recreation vehicles this year at the Barrett Jackson Auction in Houston, one of which was signed by Carol Shelby (With a copy of the DvD also signed). Stunningly beautiful cars in person. Both of which were officially recognized as proper recreations.
I still love nick cage as an actor! I don’t know why he gets so much hate. He seriously is a great actor.
@Happiness Hotel Agreed.
Look I seriously believe this is one If not the top of the Nick Cages best action scenes and overall movies. The music tops it almost is like, he’s got a perfect quarter mile with a jump at the end that he was always going to land… in my hinges opinion make the chase even longer, just for us revheads because the entire movie is a realistic plot and blows the Fast & Furious out the water…
That said, I’m car nut too so watching and listening to the sound of this cammed up to the moon and back 351 Windsor
then you should see Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent
