A very special lady. Beautiful with a smoky voice. I always thought she was my dream girl. I’ve seen a few of her movies and she was an excellent actress. RIP
Your right, this lady has so many accomplishments to her name it really would be impossible to name them all. A true icon. She was also considered one of the most beautiful woman in Hollywood at the time, a pure natural beauty, not like the actresses of today.
@1013leelee You mean actresses?. Actors are male, but most of this applies to them as well. Let's see now, let's get a nip here and a tuck there. Get a full on lift as well, get some injections, might as well get a fake ass ( yes they do that) and while we're at it let's get some silicone in those boobs. If they receive a award of some kind, lord help us. What makes the famous think they have a right to go on some political rant, but usually environmental while holding no environmental degrees of any kind?, as they jump in their limo, off to the airport and jump in their private jet. The hypocrisy would be funny if not so true.
...One of my favourites.... she was extremely talented, beautiful and her voice was unmistakable, which helped her " stand out " in my opinion. Yes, many Accomplishments, .I was saddened when I learned she had passed away.
@michaelcelani8325 ...yes, yes it is . A beautiful Song . ...there is also a Rendition by Willie Nelson ( 1978 ). This Song is one of my favourites of all these older Classics.
Suzanne Pleshette was a gorgeous blue- eyed brunette. I remember her in the 1966 Disney movie "The Ugly Dachshund" with Dean Jones..."Dr.Hartley" was lucky!!
I remember her bawdy laugh and joking with her cohorts when she was nominated for "The Queen of Mean." She seemed such a down to earth, likeable person.
I liked her very much. She was very beautiful. We used to watch the Bob Newhart Show. Bill Daly, was also in that show. She died young by tdy's standards. May she rest in peace.
I watched the 1979 boxing movie "Flesh and Blood" in which there exists an incestuous relationship between Suzanne Pleshette's character and son-boxer, played by Tom Beringer. Boy, did that blow my mind. Some cuts of this film you'll see on TV eliminated some parts. I always admired both of these actors, though. I didn't know for a long time that Suzanne had also been in Hitchcock's "The Birds" until I watched it again about a year ago. Thanks for including SP in your Shorts.
Remembered Suzanne Pleshette in The Bob Newhart Show! She had such distinctive raspy voice! May Suzanne Pleshette be blessed to a Better World & Realm ... 🙏🕯🌷🌿🌎💜🕊
Thank you for this video. I now remember her from my younger days in the '70s on The Bob Newhart Show & have now re- discovered what a warm & beautiful actress she was..
Hitchcock used her as Biblical Sacrifice, like a character out of Shakespeare. Hitch was very familiar with classic old theatrical themes. When he was young in London he was addicted to going to plays which London had many quality playhouses. He, ironically, did not see a lot of movies. Of course when he was growing up movies were silent. Sound movies did not come along until 1928. Another irony, Hitch made the first British sound movie. !
So many movies, you can't name them all. She was talented, and so beautiful. I remember as a kid in the 70's I thought she was great, and amazingly pretty, magic. I still feel that way and have seen many more of her movies now.
Suzanne was the rare mix of beauty, kindness, and great sense of humor. Had a crush on her as a kid watching Newhart. Anything else I saw her in was an eye-popping bonus. RIP Suzanne, you are, and will always a joy to watch. Thanks Ed.
The Bob Newhart show is one of first things that I could recall from 1972 at age 6. I would watch Mary Tyler Moore Show and then Bob Newhart Show at my grandmother's house almost every Saturday night. BTW, I miss all four of my grandparents and the rest of "Greatest Generation" that loved me, taught me and raised me. Be well. ❤
She was a Beatiful & talented Actress .She has never gotton the Recognition She Truely Deserved! She was great in a Movie with Steve McQueen !❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I had no idea she passed. I loved her on screen. She had a different voice, being a smoker explains that. She was beautiful. So good you're talking about her, she's worth being remembered and missed.
She was absolutely beautiful! I would watch a show or movie simply because she was in it. Her beauty wasn't just on the outside. I'm sorry she never had children 😢. Hopefully she's able to rest in peace ❤
She was underrated and somehow wasn’t mentioned enough. She even did animated features. Her voice was used for a main character in Spirited Away. I didn’t know it was her. Unfortunately she smoked. It altered her voice so much near the end.
90 pointed her out as being on The Bob newhart show, I remember her. She used to say Oh Bob... Now I was just a kid but I had the biggest crush on her.
I really enjoyed grorwing up being entertained by ms.Blanchette yhatk you lord for blessing all of us whith this woman you blessed with wonderful gifts that bought us so much joy . Thank you amen
Pilar in Nevada Smith with Steve McQueen. She sadly loses her life attempting to help him escape from the swamp. Possibly Brian Keith's best role too. Karl Malden, great as always. And an up and coming future Oscar winner, Martin Landau as a lowdown knife fighting snake in the grass. A great movie with a very strong cast in every role from top to bottom, not just the ones I mentioned here.
She was in Where the Boys Are with my idol Connie Francis and Yvette Mimieux. I was in fifth grade and my mom wouldn’t let me see it. I was furious. Saw it as an adult. It was right up there with another film from that era, The Apartment; Shirley MacLaine and Jack Lemmon.
Well, no. The brunette playing a college student in Where the Boys Are was Paula Prentiss. Dolores Hart played the lead. Suzanne did play a college prof who wanted to experience life in the movie Rome Adventure. She and the lead actor and international heartthrob, Troy Donahue, fell in love and had a short marriage.
Oh Man did I have big crush on this woman when I was a boy Truth be told she's the only reason i watched Bob Newhart show.i mean I love Bob Newhart's style of comedy and he had in my belief the best ending to any sitcom in the history of TV which included the lovely Suzanne Pleshette in it.
Her name doesn't get mentioned enough on the most beautiful actress lists.
I agree,I find her beautiful,
very beautiful❤
Absolutely right! She was a beautiful woman with a special atmosphere.
I agree. I always admired her. Thanks for posting about her.
The Birds is noted for having Kim Novak and her in the same movie. Wow!
She was gorgeous and a favourite of mine.
Mine too. I hate when she married that creep Troy Donahue that never behaved properly with her and eventually divorced him after 2 years.
