    The most important video you'll ever see. As the threat of poaching in Africa increases and becomes ever more sophisticated, so too must the determination and resources needed to protect rhinos and elephants. These men are on the front line protecting these animals against heavily armed, ruthless gangs, working in harsh, cold and uncomfortable conditions. Over a thousand rangers have been killed in the line of duty since 2013. This video is dedicated to their memory.
    Directed by Martin Buzora

      I agree this is a powerful video I already support Damian Manders anti poaching organization and donate but I plan to donate much more. I also know many other species such as of parrots are poached for various body parts and when the rangers are patrolling to protect elephants and rhinos they also protect the other species. The other key is education to eliminate the markets in Asia, it works but takes time these birds and animals do not have time each of their lives matter. If these rangers are willing to put their lives on the line we can all work a little more to donate to ranger organizations and wildlife rehab sanctuaries we know are doing the best work and are highly credible some so called sanctuaries in Africa are just for profit businesses ie. the ones where the baby lion cubs can be pet. So do your research and choose a few or one to donate too.

      Martin Buzora thanks I used about 1-2 mins of video to introduce my classmates and open minds of south Africa poaching crisis. My focus was on the black and white rhinos. I did 3 sub topics.
      -background on south africa rhino poaching and the types of south africa rhinos.
      -illegal poaching and the black market(locals poaching to provide for families(economy), Vietnam and China using for medicine, and trophies.
      -ways south Africa is stopping the crisis. (Black mamba group, rangers being trained by British special forces, new uniforms, and guns to prevent. Rhino farm conservation, drones, attack dogs, 3d rhino horn printing, legal selling of rhino horns, open border selling, and crackdown on government poaching corruption.
      So I hit a lot of topics and I got a 100 on my speech lol

    • @MartinBuzora
      @MartinBuzora  Před 6 lety

      Sounds great, and congratulations! Do you usually focus on South African poaching specifically, or Africa in general? I filmed my video in Kenya, although the problem is continent wide.

    • @wowitsruss
      @wowitsruss Před 6 lety

      I didn't know anything about South Africa or the poaching crisis. But I watched a video on netflix called "Trophy" in 2017. So we had to pick a topic "informative" speech. So I felt passionate about the crisis and decided to pick that topic to not only learn but to teach others. Maybe some day ill get to visit South Africa and visit a farm to learn more. Im a military veteran going to school for finance by the way.

    • @MartinBuzora
      @MartinBuzora  Před 6 lety

      Sounds great Russ! As you are probably aware, South Africa is the name of one country on the continent of Africa, which contains 53 other countries, and the poaching crisis is happening in all of them that still contain animals. While my video was filmed in the country of Kenya, it's representative of the poaching crisis everywhere. I hope that my work continues to bring awareness to the issue and inspires everyone to take action in whatever way they can, just like you. Thanks again!

    You'll never stop all the poachers the best thing to do is to try and stop the market, the rich pricks who buy the trophies are the ones who need to be held accountable for this.
    Don't get me wrong I'm all for killing poachers, but they're easy to replace only by stopping the need for them can you stop the poaching
