    Thank you for speaking on this! I have relaxed hair and have colored my hair successfully many times in the past. The key is to not go too light, ensure that the hair is at optimal health prior to coloring, and keeping up with moisture/protein balance afterwards.

    Yes i agree to a certain extent that the hair is fragile when your hair is double process BUT if you do weekly hair treatments,oil treatments and you keep your hair moisturizer your hair isnt weaker than the average person with relaxed hair.....Some people have damaged relaxed without using hair dyes...

    I wish I would have found this before making such a drastic decision 😭. Disclaimer I have been natural loving my healthy bleached twa for the past 7 years. Recently I made the decision to relax my hair just to relearn how to care for relaxed hair. Ummmmm bad decision REALLY BAD decision 😭😭. Luckily I'm used to being in a twa/low cut look. When in the mood for long hair I just rock wigs. I'm very fluid in my look and don't keep the same one for long. But yeeeeeeaaa I COMPLETELY forgot how to care for relaxed hair. Even when I was relaxed before I was natural it was NEVER colored.

    I relaxed my hair 3 weeks ago and did a semi-permanent color for the first time to cover my greys. My hair is healthy so I've had no issues so far. 1 week post I used olaplex 3 as I always do after a relaxer. I plan so colour every 7 or 8 weeks. Should I use olaplex after every color or is my regime after relaxer day sufficient?

      Hello. I think the routine you have now is perfect. I wouldn’t make any changes unless I notice a change with my hair. At that time I would then start using olaplex after coloring as well. If your starting with overall healthy hair I doubt you will have any issues. Just remember to make moisturizing your hair a top priority 💕

I was considering relaxing my edges in the front but what would you suggest? Like I said as far as the front goes the only thing I did was the color oops two weeks ago and then put the semi permanent on top which really barely took.

My hair still has a lot of wave to it so I just wear it as a wash and go and I love it. But I’m scared if I get my hair bleached that my little waves will be damaged and I’ll just have straight pieces.

    PLEASE HELP. I just did my relaxer and the person leftit in for almost 2 hours (it's a long story) but basically now it's like textlaxed, the roots are underptocessed and the ends are puffy. I want to do a corrective relaxer in about 2 months but some of my strands are relaxed super straight (the middle). Besides chopping all my hair off, what can I do to rectify this?? Do you have any recommendations? I already did a protein treatment and my hair is coming out easily so idk if that helped.

    • @IannaYvonne
      @IannaYvonne  Před 3 lety +1

      Hello!!! OMG this is a tricky one. I’m assuming you were natural. If so I wouldn’t relax my entire head again. If it’s the roots that are under processed, when getting your next relaxer I would touch up my new growth and extended it down to the under processed area. I would leave the ends for now. Focus on using bond build products like olaplex and hair repair leave ins like living proof repair and restore treatment. Do you use heat on your hair. If so I suggest you straighten the “puffy” ends by using low heat on them to prevent breakage. Once your hair is stronger/repaired a bit, then I would focus on correcting the ends with relaxer or slowing clipping them away over time. Good luck with everything ❤️

      @@IannaYvonne Update! I am noticing something about my hair. It doesn't feel slimy or rough now that it has dried. It's actually black and shiny since I applied scurl + ors hair lotion + argan oil. I also applied olive oil protein leave-in and my hair isn't coming out in the comb anymore (it wasn't coming out bad before; it's like excessive shedding, now breakage). I'm wondering if my hair is iron and actually okay now but I'm not sure. Is my hair supposed to be coming out? Will I see excessive breakage in the coming weeks? I plan to do a corrective relaxer in about 4 weeks, and I am gonna do the aphogee 2 step protein treatment during that time. I'm keeping my hair in twists in the meantime. Another option if your still unsure is to try a rinse. This is harmless to the hair and will still cover your grays.

      Hello. Natural henna is a good alternative for those not willing to risk traditional coloring. But the results are sometimes uneven. It is also hard to go lighter or change the color after using. So if you want a lighter color or highlights henna is not the answer. Also it can take a while for the color to set ( a few hours) and can stain the skin. So for me…. Too much work lol

      @IannaYvonne  Před 3 lety +3

      Hello. Are you planning on doing your entire head... or highlights. I really recommend highlights for relaxed hair. Less damaging. However if your determined to do your entire head you have to start healthy behaviors from now. Start using olaplex 3 before every wash and continue after you color. See if your stylist offers olaplex 1 and 2 which will help with damage WHILE she is coloring. Also make sure you do moisturizing deep conditioning biweekly and get your moisture routine in order from now. Shea moisture manuka honey and yogurt moisturizer is amazing and it has protein in it for hair strengthening and repair as well.
      Dryness is going to be your biggest issue so really focus on your moisturizer routine. Also get you a hair repair leave in. Living proof repair and restore leave in is great. I use it with every wash.
