We actually purchased the 4455 in late 2011 and it needed some work. We had the body all repainted, and replaced the entire interior, along with fixing up stuff under the hood.
Very nice 👌, old iron that looks new and runs top. My favorite series of tractors 👍

Bush hogging field borders and road ditches is a tough job when you pay attention to avoiding running over obstacles and how well the borders look when you finish.

The HX15 is 3k more than the MX15 but has a spring suspension on the axles. Do you think it's worth it or is the MX15 pretty smooth on rough ground?

I don't think the HX is worth the extra cost. In my opinion if your just wanting to mow grass go with a MX and if you have lots acres to mow and / or tough mowing conditions go with a CX.. Since most mowing is done around 3 mph I don't think the spring suspension helps much, I think a walking tandem like a shulte mower uses is a much better way of "evening" out the ride... I did equip the MX15 with dual wheels, they are a good option, it allows to keep one tire on the ground at all times..
If you are looking to purchase a good MX15, this one is for sale, it's very clean and only cut about 30 acres, sell for $9,500.. Thankyou
Not a fan of straight pipes, but it sounds good. I would not want to drive it, already too deaf.

I’ve always wondered why farmers out west mow the road side with their own equipment. In my area farmers only mow corn stalks and waterways.
Because no one else will do it ... it helps keep pests down and weeds eradicated
