Bush Hogging with a 1970 John Deere 4000 Diesel

The hydraulics will respond faster if you release the clutch pedal just as soon as it starts as the charge pump in the rear end is driven by a shaft linked to the master clutch. That sir is a nice 4000 .

In 1965 dad bought a row crop standard 4020 diesel. I run it a lot growing up. I now have a 4010 and a 4020 both diesels. Dad bought a 606 rotary mower. My brother in law called it a bush hog. Dad told him about the heavy gear box that model is the 616. That is John Deere's bush hog? Is yours a rotary mower or bush hog?

I had never heard that distinction before. I’ll have to check the tag on this mower and see what the exact model is because there aren’t any stickers on it anymore.
