People try to put us d-down (Talkin' 'bout my generation)
Just because we get around (Talkin' 'bout my generation)
Things they do look awful c-c-cold (Talkin' 'bout my generation)

Why don't you all f-fade away (Talkin' 'bout my generation)
And don't try to dig what we all s-s-say (Talkin' 'bout my generation)

Keith Moon was simply outstanding, in this song. Just love the way he performed, as a a drummer. He was one of the best timekeepers, in terms of Rock n Roll music, among many others throughout his whole entire generation, if you really want to know my honest opinion. Unfortunately, Keith Moon has most certainly died much too young, before he got to grow old. Thank you! Johnny, Montréal, Canada 🇨🇦
He had nothing on Bonham!
@Lee Jeffords Indie A&R @mojostyles1 Rolling stone magazine had Mooney third greatest ever, behing Bonham and Ginger Baker.
@@juliemanarin4127I disagree, Bonham is the best drummer, but it's not like Moonie was a million miles away, his playing style was different in a way but still manic and brilliant. I think what separates them is Bonzo's drumming was filled with plenty of new techniques for the time that were simply outstanding and revolutionised the definition of rock along with the rest of zeppelin whereas moons insane energy really worked in his favour and made a lot of songs recorded by the who. So in short terms, you're right. Long term, it's a lot deeper

This song was written when Boomers were rebelling against authority. Now they are authority (or are aging out of power and nostalgic for when they ran things).

People don't realize how far ahead of its time this song and band was. Theres punk, hard rock, prog rock in there ten years before it happened, lots of key changes, a bass guitar solo!! Practically unheard of in popular music of the time and even now. Back in those days, bands used to be pretty boys smiling and wearing matching suits. Then along came the Who, the first proper band. Not a backing band for a lead singer or 2 songwriters. 4 real musicians.
That bass by Entwistle is monstrous!!!!!!
So many thoughts run through my mind with this song. I think about what parents at the time though when they heard this coming from their kids bedrooms. The lyrics. The drums at the end. So far ahead of their time. Heavy metal in it’s infancy. Love it!!
