    I always have difficulty understanding foreign accents however I commend you for having the ability to speak English. I'm only fluent in American English. I haven't yet ordered this extender but I'm hoping it will allow my 2.4 GHz wireless eufyCam Solo Pro T8131X to connect to Xfinity (Arris Model TG1682G Dual Band WiFi).

    • @BrissyMallus
      @BrissyMallus  Před rokem +2

      All those extenders will support dual band width , however if there is an option to switch off 5 GHz, then it will be easy to configure devices that support 2.4 . See that option is available in the device that you order.

      It is always best if you extend a wired lan to wireless . So try that option.

    One thing to note about this in the very fine print is that you can't do Onemesh Mesh Wifi with a TP LINK router connected to an RE605X using ethernet backhaul. You can only use ethernet cable with the RE605X in Wireless Access Point mode that creates a separate WIFI connection to the router.

    • @BrissyMallus
      @BrissyMallus  Před rokem +2

      You can actually do that . I have explained in the video . You can do one mesh either via lan connected or via wifi .

      When you connect via cable does the extender function as an access point? And does it retain a single Wifi network, not having to use two different network names? @@BrissyMallus

    • @BrissyMallus
      @BrissyMallus  Před 2 lety +1

      Depends on where you place the extender . If you are doing a wired connection to the extender , you should get the full bandwidth. If wireless, you can adjust the distance based on the signal strength (led in the extender will indicate the signal strength ) to get the maximum bandwidth . Pls subscribe and support us. Thanks

    Can you test the OneMesh speed on ireless extender mode?

    • @BrissyMallus
      @BrissyMallus  Před 2 lety +2

      To use as OneMesh, you must have a compatible OneMesh modem . I don’t have one yet to test this . I’m planning to buy one and will let you know later . I recommend to upgrade the existing modem to OneMesh to get the seamless wireless experience. Currently, since it is not switching the wifi seamlessly, the experience is not that great . You can get the list of compatible OneMesh products from here .www.tp-link.com/au/onemesh/product-list/

    You get 53.49 Mbps for 5GHz net network.
    But what is the speed on the network without using the extender?
    How much of a degradation is there?

    • @BrissyMallus
      @BrissyMallus  Před rokem +1

      That’s the max speed with my ISP. Without the extender the speed is less than 10 Mbps . I would say it is not the speed that you should measure but the signal strength in dB which gives you the measure of best connectivity . Eg :- 10 Mbps is more than enough for a Teams call, but the if the connectivity in dB is more , the chances of dropping the call is more . In this case an extender will definitely help .

      @@BrissyMallus I mean, at 2 feet away from the router, what is the wifi speed with and without using the extender.
      I would like to know how much speed degradation there is by using an extender vs NOT using an extender. Is it 50% slower using an extender?
      I would like to use the extender to stream movies using a TV box in a hotel, where the router is usually hidden away.

      He is going over a few steps but it does work and by the way he's the only one who explain how to connect this device directly on the router I can't say that much with tp-link's support. Follow his instructions and you have to figure out where to go when he jumps over some steps but it does work. I've been screwing the dog for 2 days now and I came up to this guy's video and followed it figured out where to go when he jumped over some steps and yes he his hard to understand but it does work. I got twice the speed, I was also about to send it back. I can now chuck the old D-Link that can't do half of what this device does. Do connect to the device not your router's establish SSID, it acts as your router extender and use the new SSID you establish for this device and change it from the one on your router if you don't want any conflict
