I’m Alli Schultz, the owner of Nomad Boutique. I own two store locations as well as an online boutique! You should make a video about how you photograph your clothes for Instagram and your website. I have a small boutique and I know how important nice photos are for my business, and would love to know how you go about taking photos!

@allieschultz I also forgot to mention. If you want to make it easier on you and your employees, you should think about doing barcodes for all of your clothing. I used to work at a boutique and it was awesome because we didn’t have to worry about grabbing the wrong item and it also helps big time with inventory to see what has sold as well as letting us know what we need to restock on. The way you are organizing your boutique is totally fine and awesome! Just thought I mention what we did at my previous job :)

Well fortunately we were able to start with about $20K. I do believe we could've gotten started with about half that and still had a decent inventory.

I’m so glad I came across this video. I was literally in the process of looking for affordable racks online because I thought that would be easier for my very very new business. But I think I’m gonna opt for the bins instead. Thanks for the tip!

I own a restaurant that’s been in business for 24 years but my real passion has always been to own a gift shop or boutique of sorts. I’ve never found room to do it at my restaurant and so I’m going for it online!! I love how you organize and how you set up this video. It helps a lot. I do have one question. How do you calculate shipping? Is it something your website already does and if so why do u need the scale ? So many questions!! Lol. I’m going to binge watch your videos. So far you have helped so much and I appreciate you!!

Hi Ali! Your videos have completely inspired me to start making strides towards my dream of owning a boutique as well!! I'm a senior in college, and I'm faced with this amazing but also stressful situation where I was offered a job with a company already for post-graduation but I don't love the job. However, the money is great. I've decided, after so many years of working in boutiques and now watching your videos, that I will take the job and use that money towards starting my own online boutique! Hopefully I can grow it in ways you did and be able to open a store in the future and completely work for myself

I absolutely love watching your videos! Can you do a video on how you take your photos for your online website including what you use (lighting, camera, backdrop, editing software) and any tips that’s you have. Also, I would love to know how you first marketed your online store when you first started. How did you get people excited about your soon to be boutique (at that time), did you do marketing before you started online or did you just go straight into opening your store and posting on social media sites?

Tayta25 you package shoes using a shipping box. You put the shoe box in a shipping box which is slightly larger, tape up the shipping box and stick the shipping tag on it.
The way she’s talking is how I talk when I have so much information to give out at once 😂😂I get so overwhelmed 😅

Great stuff. What about organizing by item number? Might be quicker to write on those papers on the boxes. Getting more inventory to your warehouse must be time consuming since you have to label and bag everything. We are considering doing this where I work. Bit nerve wracking figuring out all the details. So thanks for the insights! Hope to be that successful!

@@abrishbaron9108 Hi Abrish I'm afraid not. The items I buy I buy directly from Germany. My commitment to my customers is to only buy my main goods through Germany. If I need a good Damascus knife or sportswear, I have contacts in PK.

This is my goal this year, to be more organized. I have to separate my online inventory from my shop because it's causing chaos. I'm trying a storage unit close to my house though, cuz shoes take up sooo much space🙀

I do the classic A1-1 to A1-20 for tops and bottoms and I have reusable skus (binder clips with a thin whit sticker that has the sku)

Yay another video is up I’ve been waiting lol! I’m a brick and mortar and sell a good bit on fb but I’m starting my website. If you would do a video on how to market it that would be awesome! I am just discovering your CZcams channel and all it's helpful tips/tricks for boutique business! I have a questions regarding when you started your online business... you speak a lot about ShopKeep and how helpful it is for inventory and organization. A lot of these inventory trackers and POS systems are very expensive starting out -- did you start your online business using ShopKeep or did you start using that when you moved to a physical location?

Thank you. Makes me wonder if there’s a barcode you can put on item that will direct you to the exact bin it’s in? Be good software to have. That also gives you an inventory at the same time.
