- Today we're hacking Poppy Playtime to show all the developer tricks that were used off camera to hide Huggy Wuggy. How does that big vent chase work, for example? What if I told you there's a lot of stuff hidden out of bounds for us to see? Let's take a look in this Chapter 1 sequence break!

in trailer 1 for the game, there are flashes of huggy walking towards you. he seems to be walking down that same corridor he comes out of when hes revealed to you in the game (the area between the make a friend room and the lobby). thought that was a nice touch. Also the playtime co sign is modelled because originally you would have pulled up in a car outside the factory and walked in. there is an unused map in the files with a parking lot and entrance, and theres a model for a car in the files also lol.
That'll probably be put into the final product as an intro scene, if I had to guess.

@@EumosVideos I mean there was no indication you where a toy in any way. From the size of your player to a lot of things factoring. You are around 5'6 to 5'8ft tall huggy is half as big as you are basically 12, 13 maybe even 14 ft tall i assume. Your there to save the others the note asking for help says so i don't see why it makes sense you would be a toy at all. You may have left just before some of the events took place. You maybe worked on an assembly line or something or maybe just delivered off a truck not really going into many of the wings.
Interesting facts:
1. Huggy can be seen following the player with his eyes only at one of the vents when venturing outside the factory
2. When you see Huggy after falling down you can clearly see where he hit his head cuz there's blood there.
3. There's a room that we never see in the game (so far) but can see when venturing outside the game around the factory where we see huggy for the 1st time

There’s actually a theory that Huggy is on our(the players) side, since he only really attacks when we get NEAR Poppy. Its a possibility that poppy is evil, and is controlling all the toys in the factory, and Huggy knew this and tried to keep us “safe.” Remember the writing on the flower around the door? Like ‘run’ and ‘help,’ its told to have been the employees, but if they were running, they wouldn’t have time to write that, so maybe Huggy Wiggy did as a kind of warning to stay away from Poppy because she is dangerous.
That does make sense to a degree. There is a chance Poppy is actually the woman that wanted to be young forever. So she would have a motive to be the villain and control the toys for her gain. Such as never being turned back human.
But if Huggy was on our side he wouldn't kill the player, which the jumpscare implies. Unless its similiar to the old Foxy is a good guy theory from FNAF, and killing the player was an accident on Huggy's part.
@@kaiser8659 Poppy and the woman on the tape are voiced by the same actress, so I'd say that's a good theory. I hope they throw some curveballs in there, cause right now tte lore seems pretty predictable even if it's still a cool game

3:23 thats how huggy actually kills you, by giving you a really tight hug, or a 'tight squeeze', which is the name of the first chapter, I think the devs put that in the title so you get ahint of whats coming, its subtle but works

The game blocks going back there once you got both hands, however I saw a video by someone who teleported themselves back into the Huggy hall.
The lock reacts but ultimately doesn't open the door, if you fly the camera thru there's nothing on the other side, i.e. you're outside. (Also there's just small empty rooms behind the Testing and Cafeteria doors)
This may still change though if the developers decide that parts should take place behind these doors, especially the one you mentioned since it's conspicuous it's been outfitted with a lock (which can only be opened after getting the red hand).
BTW there's also a theory the yellow and green hands found on some places like the sliding door in the loading bay or the box you're dropping onto the bridge in Poppy's tower may mean there's going to be an additional grab pack with different colored hands or perhaps an upgrade of ours to four 😏

There's a door there not being used in gameplay so far that you need to have both grab pack hands for 👐
The one in the "make a friend" factory hall that Huggy chases us back into is opened by placing a toy in the scanner 🐈

I surprised most people don't know that's how games work. Some people think the developers actually render everything behind the scenes and animate the one character the entire time.
A fitting end huh. Next chapter Huggy: I’m about to ruin this mans whole career.
You know what I realize through some of the gameplays? I don't understand why people don't go back to the room with both hands and solve the puzzle.
I’ll explain it to you, once you get the red hand the hallway blocks off so you can’t go back to where you first see huggy, search it up or try it yourself
In fact, even if you're cheating teleporting yourself back to that hall, the door doesn't open and there's nothing behind it anyway.
It's either a red herring, a remnant from a former development phase of the game and/or will have a function in later parts. In part 1 this door has no use 🚂
My theory: I think the multiple Huggys loaded into in the vent maze are intentional because there actually ARE multiple Huggys in canon to the game.
The only reason we believe there's only one Huggy Wuggy in the game is because we only see them one at a time. I'd imagine at some point in later chapters it's revealed there are multiple Huggys chasing after us.
I see why you would think that, however isn't he the only one of his kind in the experiments (at least the only one alive at the beginning of the game), with the small stuffed toys (if that's what they are...) in the boxes in the central hall being the ones having been mass produced and sold?
Let's not forget that without leaving first person and moving the camera "out of rails", the player never learns of the additional Huggy modelled AIs.

I got a gameplay reason, and a lore reason.
Gameplay Reason: Maneuvering through the vents to avoid a long-limbed creature with razor sharp teeth (That can also effortlessly maneuver around them) gave me major "Alien: Isolation" vibes. In that game, you feel like you're being stalked by one specific Xenomorph, when in actuality the ship is crawling with them. (You only feel like there's one after you because you only ever see one at a time until a certain point).
Most horror games pay homage to other horror games and franchises. (For Example: Bendy and The Ink Machine w s a god damn Frankenstein game specifically to capitalize on FNAF's fandoms love of lore-filled sadistic dark take on children's mascots, Cuphead's fandoms love of creepy old film stuff, and Hello Neighbor's fandoms love of cartoony backgrounds)
Plus, a common "Horror Game" trope is to give you a seemingly tense and difficult time with one of the WEAKEST enemies to give you a taste of how tough the rest of the enemies will be, thus making you uncomfortable and worried next time you find one. (If it takes so long to defeat ONE Resident Evil Zombie/Silent Hill Monster/Huggy Wuggy, imagine how hard it's going to be to survive against MULTIPLE of them AT ONCE)
Lore Reason: If we're going with the idea that the game is about people wanting to be "being a kid forever" by encasing themselves within toys and that "Poppy" is one of the voices we heard in the VCR tape lore stuck in a doll format. (Evidenced she may have been the one to lure us over here with the childish errors in the letter) Maybe the Huggys are made for lower ranking employees who don't gain the gift of speech. (Poppy and other modernish toys probably will communicate with haunted voice boxes). Huggy Wuggy is a plush toy, and very few, if any, plush toys had voice boxes back when these toys would've been popular. (AKA A time period where apparently the only thing that matters to a woman is how she looks.) So that would explain why Huggy Wuggy shows no actual personality outside of. "I see player, I must eat them"
Well not exactly. All those Huggy's are just simple game mechanics to make things easier for the Devs. But there are multiple of these types of experiments. Poopy is also organic (if that wasn't obvious). Huggy is Experiment 2006 or something, most likely the 6th in the series.

When you get the red hand, the glass around the case actually unloads before it hits the ground and the shards are loaded in very fast
clever way of doing it without designing a real animation - which basically would consist of almost the same, perhaps one frame of shards going to the ground

the part where you're supposed to pull the box to block huggy and falls to his death doesn't look like it, i mean, the hole where huggy falls into looks like an endless hole of random tubes going into walls on both up and down tells me that the factory isn;t as small as you think

I know you may have missed it (a lot of youtubers/streamers did), but prior to huggy appearing in the vent watching you, you can see his hand poking out from under a roller door. Occurs after you open the sliding door at 1:54 (in the room you walk into after opening it.
That's one I haven't heard of yet. Any chance you know of a video showing it? The other one I heard about was the maintenance hallway with the pipe with steam having Huggy watching you if you turn around at about the halfway point. I've not been able to verify that one yet either.
