First Skateboard Competition | Lords of Dogtown (2005) | Now Playing - Krátké a kreslené filmy
This movie was complimentary with the psp I got for christmas
“Skip called me bro ! “. Lol
There’s something special about the respect the rest of the Z team has for Peralta that even Alva sticks up for him here as an opponent when they see he gets disqualified when he says what do u mean he tied with me before punching that guy in the face lol
Such a lovable movie that only skateboarders can really understand
You can see a bit of a prototype Ledger Joker come out at around 7:28 lmao, very cool
6:11 thats the actual Stacy Peralta bustin out those 360's. What a mad lad.
Niice !!~
Jay was doing tricks no one had ever seen before, shame these judges had no appreciation for the future
He didn’t do a single wheelie, he didn’t do a single compulsory trick
In the real competition they actually all scored high because the judges loved it. All the other contestants hated it though
Their little tricks didn't age well, did they?
@@AZ-kr6ffuhhhh what? Yes they did lmao
@@pnut3844able
Nobody does them anymore, so...
Jay was the innovator
6:35 😂🤣 one of the funniest scenes in the movie
That was my favorite scene that Skip brandished that belt. Ten lashes would sound fair...POOTIE TANG STYLE!!!
This movie bums me out every time. It’s depressing as hell for me. It reminds me of skating and the friends I had back in the day with similar outcomes.
At least you have good memories
@@Thunda1986 Like I said - it bums me out.
all my skate friends went into meth/heroin, feel the pain bro. If you're 30-40, I was told it's the best years to skate. Let's shred pools this year bro.
As someone who was there....Dogtown during the 70s who went to school surfed and skated with the Zboy crew i can say that Jay was the best skater. He also ripped on a surfboard. Alva was a great surfer...Sarlo...uh
Obv statement incoming, but goddamn Ledger is so good in this movie
Did you know that he died some years ago, my son ?
Rip Heath Ledger
I just want to go blow everyone’s mind with an Ollie hahaha
go do a fucking backside flip on the flat and leave them speechless
@@fademusic1980 they would absolutely worship whoever did that hahahah, it’s funny, all it takes is the right person at the right time and boom, legend.
@@fademusic1980 frontside flips came so much easier to me, then fakie frontside flips were my absolutely bread and butter, the way I moved from fakie to regular was just so smooth, backside flips were way harder for me!
7:34 you can def see the joker coming out in heaths performance
Let's put a smile on that face 🤡
Some my not realize but all the characters depicted are old and also make cameo scenes. The cop taking the 1 dollar bill. The duder getting smacked with the orange. Jay and tony at the moms house party. And the dude in the food fight scene.
“Skip called me, bro.” “Skip called you bro???” Like she wasn’t standing right there staring at skip.
Lol, he said you look hungry bro
Everytime I see this movie,i always wonder where rodney Mullen is at
Mullen skated for Powel/Peralta. He didn’t exist yet.
@@MCF961 you got a point there,I belive tony hawk was like 12 at this time and he rode for them also..i mean Mullen changed the skateboard game as we know it today, but imagine if he started at the same time as powel/Peralta
This movie takes me back to my California childhood! 🌴☀️🏖
Florida
@@mellowrose9470 long haired dude is stacy peralta who creates powell/peralta after the events in the movie
Good ol Heath Ledger lol
Good old dead Ledger
@@pnut3844ableyikes
“I thought this was the end of the line man.” 😂😂😂 still gets me
Emile was so hott in this movie. Idc what anyone says. This is what made him famous
Girl next door was before this and put him on the map
Epic
6:38 Some people dont understand both Péralta and Álva were both chicános and probably laid out a few more pendéjos after this. I love the part in the movie when Jay starts kickin it with the homies, although that doesnt always end well...
Always liked that even though Peralta wasnt on the team Alva still stood up for him saying we tied didn't care about the win just cared that his friend seemed to get the short end of the stick
Rip in peace Jay
Ce film !
I forgot how great this movie is.
Sorry ,what song is it?
Heath ledger does a great TJ miller
Heath Ledger at his finest.
Greatest movie of all time
This movie came out the year I started skating
Like Stacy is Soo cute
First time I noticed out of the many times I've seen this movie, that Jim was the security guard that got beat out of 99$.
6:46 how I should have ended my last job
Anyone who comes out to 'Iron Man' automatically wins the competition in my book.... I don't care if it is skateboarding or the Great British Bake Off.
I’m not sure who is more obnoxious, Heath Ledger playing Skip Engblom or the actual Skip Engblom
They were a legendary bunch but this scene doesn't work....The nerd before does a hand stand while riding or rides 2 boards at the time and these kids show up all with 2 tricks no one has seen before and that's it...Director tried making it more exciting with handheld but still, not enough
LOL
Sorry but drama kids trying to act tough is the funniest thing about Hollywood.
Wtf they try to disqualify Stacy ???? 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
@pnut3844able trolling the F outta this comment section 🤣 having a bad day little guy?
I hate Chino, he does that to Sid just to be a dick. Skip was just having fun and liked Sid. On a side note Skip was excellent with customer service. That bum wasn't buying anything.
"He's hoping up in the air about 3 to 4 inches... I... I don't even know what to call that"
Jesus christ this is all kinds of cringe.
new moves, what do you expect them to know them?
You're right, pal, your insipid comment is all kinds of cringe
Nope
Locals only mf 💯☠️💩
Does anyone else find this annoying.
No. They're kids at the time, remember being 14-17
Nope, only you.
It’s not so much the kids it’s the writing of the movie and the acting. Oh and it’s pretentious as fuck
Absolutamente NO
Except in the actual compatation adam got 3rd, and tony got 4th. Peggy got 1st in the women's competition
if tony hawk went back to the future and whipped out the 900... everyone there would fall over
dumb comment
Tony was hated back in the day believe it or not. Dudes didn’t like him at all
yeah wasn't because he didn't fit into the stereotypical skater at the time, he always made sure safety was a priority and I think in the beginning that was frowned apon.@@iskatevans95
I dont know about hate. street skaters didnt like him and didnt really respect vert skaters. When he came out with his own boards and clothing HAWK which i skated it was seen as poser gear. But everyone respected him as the goat of vert when he busted out that 900. Goats like Mullen hold him in extremely high esteem.@@iskatevans95
