That's a incredible amount of steps.
This was simply amazing! I can easily imagine this technique in a new neural filter. Thanks for sharing!
that was great! Will have to start doing this routinely so that I remember it! Thank you!
Awesome technique. Thank you !
Great technique! After trying many different tutorials, I found this one to be the best. This is so useful for me at work, and the only thing else I've found to be useful is, after matching the values to match the target tone, I do tweak the curves manually slightly, and I add a brightness/contrast, and hue/saturation adjustment layers if needed. Thanks a lot!
Brilliant. Perfect match. Thank you.
WOW!!!! This was FANTASTIC!!!!!
Love the way you emphasized the tool⊠"Color Sampler"
and then with selecting the color to matchâŠ
using "command+shift" to get the point for R,G,B in the curves pallet.
THAT WAS KEY!!!!!
Your the BEST!!! Keep up the great work and hope you are doing well with your recovery.
Thank you, HowieD1975!

What a great tutorial! Once again, I appreciate your tips on how to efficiently use some of the basic tools. For example, I was aware of the color sampler, but it never occurred to me how to use it in such a practical way.
I love the +- shortcut. It reminds me that a few years ago I found out about the Backspace shortcut for the Lasso tool thanks to your videos.
Thank you!

Thank you for sharing such a great technique! By the way, working in the Lab color mode is a bit more manageable as we have to edit only two color channels.

Great tutorials. Do you know how to remove the blue share button from the Photoshop options bar?
WOW
Excellent as always. Do you recommend matching skin tones before or after frequency separate and D&B? Thanks.
Did you ever find out what is better to do first?
extraordinary master class my friend, even a two year old would understand it. Thank you, loved it.
Thank you for the tutorial. How to you remove those two bullseye marks made by the colour sampling? They seem to be in every layer and I can't get them out.

Curves is King

Color match by numbers đ. To much work for me though, Iâll just use 3DLC color gradient matching feature đ
Whatever works!
I am creating gradient maps to match skin tones and saving them to apply to other photos, but this method looks to be quicker. Will have to compare the results. What is this quicker method you describe using 3DLC? I have used 3dlc in the past to create luts but Im wondering what is the process for matching skin tones that is faster than this method here?

If this is too much work for you, Photoshop is not for you. Really, to everyone learning, this is as simple as it gets. Plugins and the new smart filters are great, but basic techniques like this are fundamentals and if you rely too heavily on high level processes you're never going to get a handle on how this stuff really works. It really is amazing what you will start to see when you know what to look for and how to fix it.
Work smarter not harder. With 3DLC youâre creating LUTs and can apply it to a set of images with no need to mask, you can also correct/match by numbers inside the program, with tools much simpler to use

my eye dropper tool don't have same option like you have.
Sorry for a probably stupid question but does this also work on layers with black and white images?
Great video. After I have set up the points on the each channel the output number for red (for example) does not match the samle color number and I can only enter values up to 100 not 255????
This is my problem too! Was hoping someone had mentioned a solution.
Use the "Curve Display Options" in the Properties panel to change the "Show Amount of:" option from "Pigment/Ink %" to "Light (0-255)"
The number value was limited to 0-100 because it represents a percentage. Change it to "Light" value and you'll be good.
Can you tell me this ps version????
what is the app name and were can i get it and is it free ?
when trying to match values in RVB i can't go higher than 100 which is blocking the process

The Cmd+Shift shortcut doesn't seem to work on my Mac to create a point on individual RGB channels. Instead, Photoshop tries to add a completely new sample. Help!
You shouldn't actually need a modifier key (must be an updated setting in newer versions of Photoshop), so just click like normal and the point should show up on all RGB layers.
