  • In this video we tear into the Kraton 6s version 4 to do a chassis upgrade, changing it to the EXB T6 7075 chassis. Follow along as AJ walks you through his way of replacing a chassis, while racing against the clock to see if this is indeed a more efficient way to do this tedious task. AJ also chimes in about the reasoning for doing this the way he does. Come along and join in as we discover how to get it done.

    My man, that cradle idea is freaking genius. I’ll be using it on my next body install🔥👍🔥👍🔥👍

      I'm glad you like the idea. I'd been toying with it for a while, and then finally tried it on the Typhon. Since it worked, I figured I would do it again, but this time, time the swap. There's certainly room for improvement, but it's still more efficient than the old fashioned way. Thanks for the comment. AJ

    Not bent mine yet, but did wonder how awkward it was to change. This looks like a great technique and not as bad as I thought it would be. Really appreciate this video thanks 👍

      Glad you liked it!! We've done this to several rigs now, including the 8s Kraton, and we haven't seen one fail yet. The EXB chassis is definitely tougher than the stock chassis, so even if it isn't indestructible it is still a substantial improvement. Thanks for the comment. 😎👍

    Sweet idea AJ, I’m wondering why you didn’t go for the M2C chassis instead though. I’ve not bent my EXB plate yet but I may not go back to an Arrma chassis knowing the M2C one is better. I’ll admit the EXB chassis does have the aesthetic appeal to it.

    • @AJJAMStudios
      @AJJAMStudios  Před 2 lety +1

      The rig we rebuilt was not mine and Robert bought the chassis. That being said, I have several EXB models and haven’t bent one yet, and if you watch our channel regularly you know we push them hard. We may try an M2C chassis in the future but as for now the EXB chassis are holding up just fine. Thanks for asking. AJ

    Thank you so much. I just switched my bent chassis for a M2C one & this helped me so much 🙏. It’s amazing easy it is to put on a wing mount when everything is straight 😝. Question do I remove or leave on the center brace. Would it hurt or help the chassis? Keeping in mind I already have the M2C wing mounts & front & rear braces.

    • @AJJAMStudios
      @AJJAMStudios  Před 2 lety +1

      I would keep the brace. Added strength is a good thing. Thanks for asking. 😎👍

    this is genius! Sadly i think this wont work if im going for a longer chassis than the original one. Going from the outcast to a mojave chassis

    Really cool Vid and ideas AJ.. How is that EXB chasing holding uo?..I usually see M2C as replacement never a EXB. But its cool to see something different

    • @AJJAMStudios
      @AJJAMStudios  Před 2 lety +1

      It's too soon to tell. We still have to replace and upgrade the rear chassis brace, but we'll share that information as soon as it becomes available. Thanks for the interest. Bash on, my friend. AJ

    I think the V5 Chasis is more durable than the EXB one. I got both cars. It is not only wider at the rear but got also stiffening channels which the EXB doesn't. What do you think?

    • @AJJAMStudios
      @AJJAMStudios  Před 2 lety +1

      I see your point of view, and I can see how it might look that way, but the V5 chassis is not as strong as the EXB. I know it is stamped with runnels that look stronger, and they add them to help build strength, but the EXB chassis is simply made of stronger material. The reason it is flat and not stamped it because the tempered aluminum they use is too strong to stamp without cracking it along the bend areas. Metal for metal, the 7075 T6 is way stronger. We've bent the V5 chassis in only a few runs with standard play, not even hard bashing, while the EXB chassis has yet to bend on any of our rigs, even with hardcore nature and ramp bashing. That has been our experience so far. Thanks for commenting. 😎👍

    AJ, any recommendations to upgrade the steering servo on the Kraton 6S

    • @AJJAMStudios
      @AJJAMStudios  Před 2 lety

      I usually search EBay for the power I want and then choose from there. I try and test the affordable stuff to see what works. The one I'm currently using is this: 35KG Digital Servo Full Metal Gear Waterproof with Servo Arm For RC. Pop that info into EBay and check it out. It hasn't let me down yet. However, I am well aware there are higher end servos out there, but this one works just fine for me. Oh yeah, and I've paid a lot for servos in the past, but servos like the one I suggested are super inexpensive, responsive, and (the way I run them, even off jumps, but not in skate parks) are durable. I hope this helps. AJ

    • @nickpacello2597
      @nickpacello2597 Před 2 lety

      AJ, I ordered the servo you recommended 35kg for the Kraton. Will it fit into the stock servo brace/holder or do you recommend a modification. Thank you

    • @nickpacello2597
      @nickpacello2597 Před 2 lety

      AJ, thank you for the servo recommendation. With the 35kg eBay servo the Kraton now turns on a dime. Thanks again for saving me money and getting the best performance out of my Kraton 6S

    I uprgraded to the t6 7075 and have the kraton blx, but the front and rear braces don't line up now.. did I do something wrong?

    • @AJJAMStudios
      @AJJAMStudios  Před 2 lety

      Perhaps. There are two spacers for the wing mount bracket. Be sure they are positioned correctly or they will not function right. See your manual for the proper order. I hope that solves your issue.

    • @kylekruger1848
      @kylekruger1848 Před 2 lety

      @@AJJAMStudios I actually sized up the stock chassis to the t6 7075 and the the holes are not lining up for where the motor goes and those holes for the braces. I must not have got the right one?
