00:52 Coville’s secret revealed - The new Sodebo
    08:35 The Un-Regatta
    13:35 The Eagle has launched
19:17 A new route to the America’s Cup
21:32 Alternative foiling for fun (Footage courtesy of HORUE MOVIE - / horuemovie )
It has taken two years to create and has required absolute secrecy throughout. As Thomas Coville’s new 32m trimaran was rolled out into the open we got to see why his team had been so tight lipped about their new beast of a boat. This is an Ultime like no other.
We also take a look at another high performance multihull, but this one is for cruising. The Eagle 53 was inspired by the America’s Cup and designed to fly.
A new plan for the road to the America’s Cup is laid out as this year’s opening event is postponed.
How a sailing club in San Diego with an unorthodox approach to racing is grabbing the support of a new generation of young sailors.
Plus, alternative ways to get your kicks on foils.

I love the boat no doubt, by I wonder if these assemblers know that breathing carbon fiber dust is the same as asbestos. IT NEVER COMES OUT OF YOUR LUNGS. Who's the twenty year old drilling into the Carbon composite with no respirator on?

Here in San Diego we have Seaforth Sailing Club and boat rentals. They have three locations in the main bay and one in Mission Bay. About $ 300 to join and $ 30 / month gets lowered boat rental fees and access to dozens of sail boats from 22 ft Capris , Catalina 25, 27, 32, and even larger sail boats. No slip fees, no maintenance, no clean up after a day's sail or multi day sail.

Time for 2 classes.... call em 1. Classic monohull and 2. Open class.
The competition has disappeared. First mark dictated the outcome 90% of the time in Bermuda?
It needs the sail changes and tacking duels and covering added again.

Foiling isn't sailing. It's something else, not sailing. A "cruising" cat with a semi rigid wing, that cannot be sailed without computer control ?? Boats with robot skippers, and "flight controllers" ??. A boat where the apparent wind never goes behind the mast is an abomination.

Yes, a marvelous boat (Sodebo) but I'm left wondering, how could so much money be wasted on this kind of extravagance when people throughout the world are sick and hungry. Conspicuous Consumption! Now, an Opti does not bother me, does your conscience bother you? Tell the truth. Apart from all that, I think this show is extremely well produced.
