  • I hadn't been back to this Goodwill since before the shutdown and was surprised to find the shelves loaded and the aisles crowded. It was a struggle, but I ended up pulling out some good pieces for resale.

Yes, I agree that the experience can be overwhelming and it's hard when you are trying to do things "properly" as requested and others seem to be just blatantly flaunting the new rules or too clueless to follow them. I don't do well when it's loud and crowded either, even before the arrows and masks began. And those shelves were so over-packed that it looked chaotic. I commend you for making it through without bolting and running screaming from the store, lol.

The thing you thought was a lamp is a candle stick. The piece of metal that moved around is used for popping out the left over candle. You push it up from underneath and it dislodges any left over wax.

You should come to Austria (Europe). Thrift stores are full of 40', 50', 60's and 70's stuff and nobody wants it. It's not in fashion here. You would flip out by all the stuff in the stores.

Twice I heard the store announcement about staying home if you're not feeling well. But, I didn't hear anything said about following the arrows. The store staff should be asking shoppers to follow the arrows or leave if they're not willing to. It's their responsibility to keep their shoppers safe.

Our Goodwill was quiet, with very few people, but after 15 minutes I was so stressed I felt like I was going to have a panic attack, and had to leave. It's just the anxiety of being too close to people now, and the loudness of yours would have made me frantic. Thank you Joce for all of your efforts, I couldn't have stood it for 5 seconds. You found so many nice things too, far better than our low inventoried store. So for my own peace of mind I think I will just enjoy your shopping and not put myself through such stress until things improve. In a few minutes my hubby is taking me for a drive up into the mountains. Hopefully I will get to see something like last time, which was a mother deer and her newborn fawn, just casually standing on the side of the road. We didn't see but two cars all day and it was wonderful. The spring flowers are in bloom, the birds are singing in the tree's, and life is good. I hope you have a God blessed day!

Thanks for sharing and caring! Stay Safe! I, like you, am a rules follower but to ease some of your frustrations, often the other customers breaking the rules are just as overwhelmed as you. They don't notice that they are not following the rules for directional shopping. This is a totally new concept that people, in this new world, are having to get used to the odd rules. I don't know if this helps but I hope it does. Thanks again for sharing and caring! Stay Safe! P.S. I think businesses with these new rules should have someone that greets customers at the door and informs them of the new rules. Especially directional shopping.

They are light, but they're so useful for kitchen to bedroom (tea, soup, sandwich) the perfect tray 😍 not sure if that one was Florentine. But they all are light which makes them so useful. Some of them have beautiful designs. You can Google. 💙💚🇮🇹

I struggle with crowds too. And people going down the wrong isles are beyond rude. Last month I had to run in to Dollar General and the elderly man with no mask stayed on my heels. Finally I pulled my cart over, pressed myself into the shelf so he would pass me. As he did, he started hacking coughing right at the back of my head! 😡. Thanks again for hanging in there. 💛

This Goodwill is so very different than mine. We don't have arrows on the floor so it's two way traffic everywhere. This store is much neater and more organized than where I shop. I don't shop to resell but I have a lot of fun. I always check out the clothing too.

I don’t know if you’ve tried this, but what I do when I have to research something (mostly my porcelain pieces), I use the reverse google image search. I downloaded the google app and use the lens feature. It analyzes the subject and will produce previous results similar or the same. Sometimes it’ll give me results that are totally different than what it is, but it’s helped me discover a lot more about my pieces rather than me just googling random words. Google knows more if it can see what you’re searching. I’ve been able to go straight to eBay listings just by taking a picture.

If I was going to a goodwill right now I would be in a electric wheelchair so I wouldn't be able to deal with the wrong way people. Went to our Goodwill a few days ago and it was wall to wall clothes. The area of “stuff” besides clothes is now gone and all of those items are on shelves above the clothing racks. It was sad because they hang all clothes according to color. Not size or even style so the whole trip was a bust. Walked myself to death for very little return. Other thrift stores were bare. Not a great day out but hoping for a restock soon. It was fun going along with YOU though! 🥰

You also make me laugh as as it is good to know that someone else has anxiety issues over going the wrong way against the arrows, people stopping in the middle of the isles and generally not paying attention to the other people in the world. You are always thinking of others and how your actions are affecting those around you. You are very considerate....I really admire that about you. I loved the Russel Wright dish so much I had to look it up. I'd never heard of it before. I found that platter for sale for $55USD on another website! Wow. Good score.

The crab crock at 14:02 looks interesting! There was also a planter earlier in the white section with caterpillars and other insects on it.

Arkansas never closed their thrift stores and Goodwill had to advertise that they were open an reminded us we need to be shopping there to continue to help people find jobs.

I actually loved the voice over. Sometimes background sounds can be distracting and make it hard to hear you. Nice haul

This is the goodwill I go to. Yeah it's pretty crazy in there most days and the organization could use work. It was really nice seeing though what you picked out and didn't get! I picked up some of the same pieces and put them back down lol.

  • @barbarajeanbraceletlady3090

Oh! Wow! Thank you so much for not recording the sound. Just that little bit of sound was so loud. I bet next time you'll bring ear plugs. I went to Dorcas Ministries Thrift Story in Cary, NC this morning, and it was so crowded with no arrows like the other stores. The line was so long, and people cutting in front. I'm not a confrontational person, but the person behind me yelled right in my ear. There was another Thrift Store, I like so much better. Nice and quiet, and so much lower in price. We have a Restore Habitat Store I like here. You got some really nice things. We never have nice stuff like those. I miss going to Connecticut Goodwill Stores, and Savers. Being a transplant New Yorker to NC, is taking some getting use to that's for sure. Everyone is extremely nice.

Couldn't wait to get to my local Goodwill today. Someone must watch your channel. I couldn't believe the jump in prices. If something had dust on it, and was even thought to be old, the price was insane. No chance for resell here. So sad.

Love the name of your shop!!! Great shirt design! I noticed you wearing it in another video and was wondering about it. I am not on facebook so I like when you give updates on youtube. I have anxiety issues when people don't follow guidelines too!! Thanks for posting!

I understand your frustration with people going the wrong way down the aisles. Same issue here. Shopping with you is fun. I spotted 2 things I wanted that weren't vintage. A Petunia pickle bottom diaper bag on a shelf and a dog food dish made in a puzzle to slow down dogs when they eat. Both spendy items but not what you sell.

It’s funny, I was at the antique shop today and there were two young girls talking about thrift shops and one was like “Fun Fact, they call thrift shops charity shops in England.” It made me smile. ☺️

I would have been out of that store as quickly as possible ! I can't stand loud music, much less a store crammed full of people. I like the name for your new store !
