What sleeves are you using for the deck? I really like that lime green color.
now that's a certified yugioh turn
very entertaining game of solitaire
That's what I was thinking, it looks a lot like an exodia draw deck. What blows my mind the most about this is that there's not just a draw 7 card for less than half your life, but that it's not even a once per turn.
@@WolfBerserker13 or an inzektor or zoo deck.
hahaha thats why i stopped playing yugioh i was getting sleepy every turn
@@WolfBerserker13 does magic even have hard once per turn ?
@@dudono1744 no idea, it never seems to come up. I think it normally doesn't need hard limits with it's power design.
If my opponent took their turn and spent 14 minutes on their turn before I got the chance to play, I’m building Mono Blue Baral Counterspells
fr this isn't yugioh
Basically yugioh
Yeah I'd just concede and find someone that actually wants to play a game of magic, not 10 minutes or so of solitaire
Ok, but you'd lose anyway lol
*Pact of Negation has entered the chat*
One thing i recommend on these longer videos, would be to maybe have an image of the card on screen, or to have the cards on the mat and have the camera focus on the matt instead. Having them in hand is fine, but since you talk with your hands as well it can make it hard to read the card, it can also cause a bit of motion sickness when you try. otherwise awesome video!
Also like a lot of the peeps have said, decklists would be cool or at least a list of the really important cards.
Was about to say the same thing about him shaking his hands. Seriously either hold your hands steady or place them on the matt in front of a camera so we can read them.
Your comment definitely deserves a heart.
Since you're obviously not gonna get it from the uploader, here you go: ❤
Definitely! Also it's not needed to permanently shuffle the cards in your hands nor the deck because the video is just about describing a deck list. Very "stresful" to follow.
10:19: "14+12 thats 29"
I died a little inside
5:58 21-7=15
typical mtg player lapsus
Shit I hate for 1,000, Alex.
He be doing that R Kelly math.
Always convenient confuse xD
"we wont have to pay the 4 mana on our next upkeep, because, there will be NO next upkeep" 😭😭
at the end of game, you want to play the Allosaurus Riders before you play the Heritage Druid in case opponent has Gut Shot
At that point he had counterspells and storm only counts the spells you've cast this turn not your opponents
@@walls_of_skulls6061 storm counts all spells cast by both players
@@tonyorazio1122 you right you right
If an opponent gut shots after that, why target heritage druid at all? He's cast 15 spells and is at 13 life, send all copies at his life total
@@66exe Are you confusing grapeshot with gut shot?
Turn 1 how to lose All my Friends….😂
When you don't have any it's simply a turn 1 win!!
05:58 21-7 = 14
I’m so happy solitude and subtlety are things I have access to.
"this deck can win on turn 1!"
"this deck is also weak to just about any sort of removal or counter spell"
"the most ridiculous deck"
Im thinking of making a neoform grislebrand deck. This is pretty crazy though. Way different approach than what ive see. Before. Cool build.
I used to have a variant of this deck back when Simian Spirit Guide and Once Upon a Time was still legal. Was a lot more consistent because of additional "free mana" options and free creature search spell on turn 0. Veil of Summer was another way to protect yourself from Thoughtseize and Counters even if it mean going to turn 2 or 3. As an alternative win-con since you plan to draw your deck you could always end with Laboratory Maniac or Thassa's Oracle. This was my win-con rather than attacking in for damage and bypasses most fog effects. Manamorphose was an additional card-draw and mana fixer. Since it fixes mana it makes adding different win-cons in different colors a possibility.
Lightning Storm was another win-con option. Once you've drawn most of your deck you should have enough lands to discard to deal 20+ damage directly to your opponent. Your opponent can activate the ability as well but you should have more lands then them to win the exchange. Discard enough for lethal, pass priority and go back and forth till you win the exchange.
Probably the best cards against this deck are cards with Split Second or Thoughtseize if you don't go first. Sideboarding Leyline of Sanctity is an option to protect from Thoughtseize and since you plan to mulligan with this deck you have a few chances to see it in your opening hand. Angel's Grace is the perfect counter as it pretty much shuts down your ability to win and you will lose during your upkeep if you had played any Pact cards. It only requires 1 white mana too I would say its better than Path to Exile in this match up. In response to Path they may be able to draw a counter spell but they can't do that with Split Second on the stack. Trickbind or Wipe Away would be really good to interfere with your combo if they had the mana and you are on the slower side. Sudden Shock could kill Laboratory Maniac. Figured I'd share some options that easily shut this down if you aren't going first for a turn 0 win.
"Opps all spells" ruined magic for me, as the loss of SSG nerfed this deck into oblivion, as well as 3 land charbelcher just being obsoleted, two decks I found very fun for their goofball strategies. Too many fun cards had to be banned to make way for a mechanic that really took away a lot of the creativity that was necessary in deckbuilding.
Should include decklists somewhere within these videos or the description!
to be fair he showed the entire deck other than 2 cards lmao
@@xavierbucher5405 yes but its easier for people to cut n paste if they want to build the deck or purchase it from a lgs with the "deck build" option
@@simont1709 He posted a video for you. Do the work yourself and write down the cards you see on screen.
@@chasmes72889 im not the one asking him to do it, i made a suggestion that might even help him grow his channel and brand, people want things fast because the information age we leave in, anyone can post a video but theres a difference in quality, there are plenty MTG channels that post decklist so the arguement of "he posted a video" is kinda weak, there's also a possibility that he might even get paid for views so he didnt do it for free
@@chasmes72889 dude, a playlist is great for everyone, it will improve the video. If u dont understand that there is nothing to talk with you
I would recommend summoner's pact if possible before you keep drawing with griselbrand to thin out the chance of getting another creature from the draw.
Very valid point!
also can help prevent the possibility of hitting
Why do more competitive players rifle through their cards so much? It drives nuts! I look at my hand, put it in an order of when I think I’ll play each card, and mostly don’t mess with it.
Every competitive player is addicted to card flicking😂
You're actively giving your opponent information they shouldn't have like when you playing the rightmost card you just drew, or that there's a card you've been sitting on for four turns now). It's unfortunately optimal to always mix up your hand whenever you draw a card to avoid giving your opponent free information.
I couldn't finish the video. 15min to explain an opening hand that was giving me motion sickness

This is my favorite deck online
Leagues are pretty quick with this deck!
It’s nice to see this. I am new to mtg I have only been playing a few years only on arena in constricted standard. I had just did my first draft a few weeks ago and I’m starting into paper commander. All of my friends play modern though so I’m happy to start to learn this format
Please choose another deck to learn the format😂
Oh no , I understand this is just a niche funny combo. Tron decks seem to be the modern meta but like I said I just started in m21 in standard constructed but my friends have been playing mtg since we was in 8th grade in 2008 you know? I’m just trying to catch up and learn but magic has so so much to it man
Modern is so much fun! Me and all my friends play modern (and a bit of commander and pioneer on the side) but we all mainly play modern. Good luck to you diving into modern and hope you find a deck you enjoy! Try not to get pure pressured into getting a 'meta' deck. Unless that is what you like. But i always advised my friends to play a deck they would have more fun playing than play what everyone else is playing.
Ah quebec, instantanément. Interessant deck merci
If you retained at least three elves (including but importantly the one that allows you to tap three elves for three mana) you can easily pay the four mana from Summoners pact, however, if you lose that elf you end up only having access to three mana and not be able to pay it (unless you were also running elvish spirit guide which i find interesting your not running probably because it's banned in Modern).
That is true. However, we very often end up casting multiple pacts
Banned implies it was legal at some point in modern. ESG is from Alliances and modern is called modern because the cut off was the "modern" border frame introduced in Eighth edition.
@@MTGDeckmasters i was theorycrafting for if somehow you ended up only casting Summoner's Pact but yes.
Im glad to see fortifying draught in modern. I bought a stryxhaven draft booster box and saw several of these and always thought in the right skin this thing would be a total beast. Flavor text should be, "Gain 2 life AND grow like the U.S. deficit."
I like the analogy😂
Grow like there is no tomorrow.
it would be so funny to be doing all of this getting to the wincon only for your opponenet to mental misstep in the end
Nice. Love a deck that wins thru attacking.
Magic just as Richard Garfield intended!
DO we get access to the decklist only as part of your patreon?
unfortunatly i dont think it is very viable with the amount of decks plays the blue and white elementals now a days, allosaurus would be countered or griselbrand would be exiled. We be a lot of fun if were a little more consistent
Tbh this kills the fun out of the game. Like back and forth massive battles are always so fun and rewarding
Yeah but if you think about it, it’s about the same as playing hammer time, they are trying to kill you very fast
Any game or sport is going to be figured out to it's boiled down win. Kill shots in racquetball, ace serves.. it doesn't make the game fun, it's for the win. I've played sports to highish levels and you just simply do the best thing to get the win.
MTG however is a patchable game. I used to get a fun feeling from playing. Almost like an RPG I felt like I was the Planeswalker summoning a beast and doing magic. With OTK and the like, instead of playing a beautifully drawn card game, let's just flip a coin, you win or I win.. great. Anyone competing is going to have the fotm boiled down deck, so why not just get wotc to make some fancy looking coins to flip for a win? It's equivalently not fun, and because we can all effectively have the same deck, that's what it is anyway.
We can't just have the same physical skill so I forgive racquetball more than MTG for it's boiled down wins. We can both have the same card but both don't have the same physical skill.
Haha holy sh** !
Incredible deck and demonstration :D
Thanks! The deck is incredible indeed
@@MTGDeckmasters Yes !
Could you please post the decklist?

Funky math aside LOL, really interesting video to watch! i wish we had all of the cards with all formats in mtga

That will literally never happen😂
@@MTGDeckmasters I am feeling lucky
Opss! All Spells in modern. Simply crazy
I tried that deck back when SSG was legal!
This is really cool
Damn I wish I knew how to play this game like this
I can see quite of a misplay in this tech by the end. When you activated Griselbrand at a 9 card library, you could've gotten unlucky and not hit Mox Amber due to it being one of the last two cards in your library, and you still had plenty of surplus green spells on hand. You could've activated two Summoner's Pacts at that point grabbing random stuff to get your library to exact 7 cards to avoid that.
You are right. Thanks for pointing it out!
Not sure how long you've been creating videos, but I happened to like what I saw here.
Pros: you do you and that's all you need. 💙
Cons: card shuffling leads to confusion on where your convo/explanation is at vs. Where it's going, double-check your math, etc.
All in all I appreciated your explanation and your interaction in the comments. :)
Thanks I appreciate it! I'll make sure to improve my math on the next one lol
@MTG Deckmasters I appreciate your ability to accept criticisms, and I know firsthand that it's visually harder to track a conversation with that background activity. I still think you did a superb job universally, and will be looking into the other videos you have made as well! Thanks again for this content. :)
Cool combo
I know right!
What a fun deck 😂
Great 2001 album play mat
Thanks!! I got it custome made👌
Good ole grisholbrand
what would happen if one of the combo pieces happened to be one of the last 2 cards left in the draw pile? if you use Griselbrand again you would lose the game, right?
(I stopped playing MTG around 5th edition - loooong time ago - so I'm not very familiar with the rules anymore)
Yes, we would lose the game if we did that. We would get it with Summoner's Pact if it was left in our deck. We could also play Mox Amber, Springleaf Drum, then Serum Visions to draw into it.
No need to explain, you win and get kicked out of whatever playgroup it is.
You don't have playgroups in Modern😂
J’aime ça tes video! As tu du content pour EDH aussi?
Merci! Non je ne joue pas EDH malheureusement
I need that playmat!
What name would you put on it?
My question is, is it a requirement to win after turn 1 or turn 4 for it to be allowed into the format? I havent payed modern recently and didnt know if they changed the rules. If so wouldnt it be on the ban list asap?
Really want to build neobrand so bad ik it's like reanimator trying to get stuff out turn 3 but still
It's awesome but not the best deck lol
Is this deck still buildable with the 3-year increase between rotations? Or have parts of this deck set sail forever? Asking as a Yu-Gi-Oh player that just wants to have a "watch-this" MtG deck hanging around
Deck list?
I may be outdated with the rules, but at 9:25 doesnt the creature have summoning sickness and should be waiting until next turn to be tapped?
You're right that it has summoning sickness, but that elf itself didn't need to tap: the ability says to tap three other creatures, so summoning sickness won't matter.
Yes,nvm
why 2 mox amber? no endurance??
Worldspine worm is a another Option for high mana value
Yes but it's not as expensive as Authocton Wurm, so I'd rather play more copies of that one.
I play a similar deck and maindeck 3 copies of veil of summer :D
Wise decision
I remember when turn 1 was possible in Standard and hardly anybody complained.
When?? 1994?
@@MTGDeckmasters Ravnica/Time Spiral/Coldsnap Standard. Dragonstorm could get the nuts and go off T1. T2 wasn't unusual, and T3 was pretty much the standard hand for that version. It was essentially multiple rite of flames and seething songs. It didn't get the nuts that often, and usually tried for T3 so they could gigadrowse EOT to prevent interaction.
2007 Regionals was a format where my turbo dredge deck that could go off T2 was often too slow. Barely missed out on going to nationals on a Regions invite for the 2nd year in a row due to a deck registration error in the sideboard costing me a game loss. My region was won by "Project X" which was a Saffi combo deck, and 2nd was Dragonstorm piloted by a friend at the time.
@@joseph1150 Watching old videos of Dragonstorm Standard makes my commander player heart so happy. Dragonstorm is such a silly card, and the fact that it was not only legal, but INCREDIBLY good competitively brings a smile to my face.
Griselbrand... Why am I not suprised. xD

Hi I subscribed can’t find the deck list
Do you have this deck in a visual list ?
Yes I have a deck tech on the channel!
also if you play against burn you can just get Griselbrand out on turn 1 and then pass
Exactly! That's why you should be careful not to cast Pact on turn 1
Can't you just tap Heritage Druid along with only two Allosaurus Riders to activate the mana ability?
Yes we can but why not play an extra rider!
@@MTGDeckmasters Touché.
Fog *praying you didn't have the counter in your opener*
me who just entered the tournament to chill and spend time with some other players...
Not that he did not get that turn one kill, but at least get your counting life right. You go up to 28 life at 5:40, Griselbrand to 21 life 5:48, the Griselbrand again to 15 life at 6:03. I think there was another place too, but my point all the same. At least know to count your life right, I feel is important.
Sexy card flick. Only took 5sec too lol
Okay, but can I use this deck to do an insane amount of setup, solely to pay life into Griselbrand and FTK myself?
Yes you can, but you need exactly 7 life. You can't "pay 7 life" if you are at 5.
@@MTGDeckmasters So what I'm hearing is optimisation with things like a Breeding Pool > Botanical Sanctum for 2 life spent, and some pure Phyrexian mana spells like Probe to hit 14 life would be necessary ;)
"You have to win turn 4 or later to not be banned"
Looks at amulet titan and infect with turn 2 wins, burn tons of others with turn 3 wins. Its more about your average win speed through a single piece of interaction.
Ya, the turn 4 rule is about consistency, not fasted possible win.
Someone please send this to Seth or HarryMTG
This is a cool deck... I'm just sick of the well if this was exiled or killed or countered this wouldn't work comments though. Magic has answers for everything we know.
