It was never a matter of fearing death. In his line of work he would have had to have made peace with the possibility of his death a long time ago. Living long enough to make it to the Rank of Hashira only shows how skilled he truly was. Out of all the Hashira I feel he was the only one who's composure fit his rank (he wasn't batshit like the rest or feel superior). He didn't see himself above Tanjiro and was genuinely friendly towards him. He acted as a mentor he in his final moments inspiring his student to not despair but "set your heart ablaze". 😭

I won’t lie, during this time I was dealing with many losses, I dropped out of a class, had two of my cats pass away, had my grandmother and great grandmother pass away, and even lost a few friends. At one point I even lost myself and was battling with some severe depression so when I watched this movie and learned rengoku’s story and saw Tanjiros dreams in the train I was able to feel them in a deeper level. His speech truly impacted me and helped me move on to where I am now. I won’t lie even now whenever I feel a little disheartened, like I’m going to fail, I play his speech and it reminds me of it all and how I have to keep going for everyone I lost, including the old me. In a way, when I see his last smile, I can see the old broken me smiling back at me, like he believes in me, I guess that’s why it always gives me courage in the end.

His words is so calming and true, although I was upset that it happened I felt calm at the same time. It's weird because it's just an anime but this death is like no other.
I never really cry at tv shows, but when Rengoku said "hold your head high" and "set your heart ablaze" and especially "don't feel bad l'm going to die." I just broke down in tears, this scene will make anyone cry because of how he always looks on the bright side even when he's faced with death.

At first I didn’t really like Kyojuro because he rejected Nezuko, but now he’s one of my favorite characters in the series. He’s like a big brother to Tanjiro and Nezuko.
Can't blame them. In their world, demons was seen as a man eating cruel monsters, so seeing a Demon Slayer carrying a Demon must've been a surprised to them. Also i think only the Ubuyashiki family knew about Tamayo and Yushiro.

The Demon Slayers know about Tamayo and Yushiro in the end, actually, I'm pretty sure. I don't know about Tamayo, but the other Demon Slayers do know about Yushiro, including the Hashira, especially Mitsuri and Obanai, because he helped them in fighting Nakime. Actually, Shinobu also knows Tamayo and Yushiro, because they both helped her with her experiments, which indirectly helped her in defeating Doma. Fun fact, by the end of the manga, Yushiro's actually the only Demon left alive, even in the modern world years after Muzan died and the Demons were (presumably) exterminated (Except for him, or other good Demons if there's one, probably).

Death is an inevitable, but it's a fact we all have to accept no matter how much we deny it. Life is the one thing we should never take for granted. To anyone who is struggling physically, emotionally, mentally or financially, know that everyday above ground is a good day. If you have one decent parent, relative or friend in your life, hug that person.

Dude, a beefy arm punched a hole straight through his abdomen. Even in a world with magic breathe-based healing tricks, I don't think there's any bouncing back from that. Frankly, it's amazing he was still alive for this long after taking that blow.

Mark Whitten is such an incredible voice actor. He is perfectly suited for a mature, serious, yet just as caring and calming role. His work as Seteth in Fire Emblem also brings such sincerity. God, Rengoku's death never fails to make me cry

If I would've been in Tanjiro's place, I'd be crying hysterically not being able to accept that he will die... Even now it's hard. I've seen the movie when it came out in Japan in the theatres, and I got such a trauma from his death that I was avoiding any content of him, because it was too painful to see it again. I couldn't watch the season 2 Mugen train episodes either, not until January.. It's amazing how a fictional character can have this big impact on me (us).
He will forever be my FAVOURITE.

I just watched the movie for the first time 2 days ago.. I’ve dropped into a deep depression that I can’t explain. I love anime but I’ve never been affected like this.. why did they have to kill him off so early 😭
Wish he was the protagonist. Idk why shows have side characters that are better than the protagonist. Tanjiro and the squad could be key side characters.

Instant favorite character and still is. Despite the hardship in his life he comforts others and always used uplifting words. Even when faced with death and an easy way out ( becoming a demon and turning his back in everything) he chose to protect everyone else sacrificing himself. His character is courage personified in my opinion. No other way to describe him

When rengouku is about to perform his 9th form he told himself to set his heart ablaze. He really knew his strength is not enough to defeat akaza and his just really pushing beyond his limit and his death is near
The fact that he managed to survive for three entire minutes even after getting his eye punched out, his internal organs fucked extremely fucking hard, and Akaza's arm yeeted into his solar plexus, is incredibly surprising
We should mind his words there is success in it we should follow his footsteps that speech was a motivation speech dont take it for entertainment

Recently watched the Mugen Train Arc, in a time that is truly hard and dark for me. With a break up after being in love with someone for 8 whole years that came out of nowhere. Iam struggling with this loss of a loved one so much. When I watched this scene and heard these words i started crying so much. But it wasn't out of sadness. It was out of feeling understood. Weird how a character that is truly fictional and is written by someone who doesn't have anything to do with me can move me so much and make me feel that deeply connected. The words set your heart a blaze truly touched me. And even if only a little lightened the burden of my loss. Thank you Flame Hashira.
