  • In the 1970’s, Tim Giago had a program titled “The First Americans” which aired on KEVN-TV in Rapid City and the Black Hills area. The program featured Native Americans making their mark in Indian Country. Listen to an interview with Buddy Red Bow (born Warfield Richards, June 26, 1948) and here him perform some of his classics. Buddy Red Bow was a U.S. Marine and Veteran of the Vietnam War. He passed away in Rapid City on March 28, 1993 at the age of 44.

    The Thunderbird came back for Buddy. Now, he rides the Thunderbird forever. We miss Buddy. 😢 His Spirit lives on in his music. 🎶 🎵

    I remember doing a talent show at North Jr High helping Buddy get ready and working with him. What a talent! Sorry he his gone.

    Play Redbone is one of my favorite favorite favorite singers his words are so true and Powerful I was living on the Chippewa reservation my husband at the time went to the Indian radio station and play the song for me and Buddy Redbone my name is Denise and his name is Joe Stone I wish I could remember the song I had to do with a Indian lady we were to be married but then he had cancer and he passed in March about 10 years ago bi-curious picture and I listen to your music I love buddy Redbone thank you for your words your music thank you for sharing

    Years ago I entered Buddy in a battle of the bands in Fort Collins for five dollars. He played powwow woman and beat four other bands and won $100 & gave me $50, It was amazing & powerful & spiritual,

    I hope more USA folks watch & listen to this so they possibly have a little wisdom about Indians in our country. However, the opposite with Trump as president gets destruction of Indians & the environment going faster. Thanks for sharing.
