Good on you for using the botanical names Sarah. There are some surprisingly big time flower growers using only common names which is infuriating, because they vary wildly around the world, but the scientific names don't! My new one next season will be Mignonette (Reseda odorata) a really beautiful white spike, kind of like a veronica. Great video - hope the season goes really well 🎉

Zinnias are a must, along side strawflowers and snap dragons. I will always always grow those three and seed saving is so easy and they just want to grow.

Love the brand aesthetic you have developed!!!! It's just lovely, and quite unique!!! I'm sure it sets you apart and will for years to come! I found your channel last spring and I am hooked on the color palette you are doing!!! I think it's funny that I along with so many others must have gone what no sunflowers??? But it's not really apart of your thing, so why give up the crucial space!? I love that you are doing exactly what you want and are confident! It does say something that the bouquets you tossed together at the market sold first!!! I think it's just an example of going with your first instinct and really honing in your craft! Super excited for you this season and I can't wait to see everything you do!!!

I bought the seeds last year but you might like the bronze fennel, also I saw someone using millet as a filler and it was gorgeous! ;) You share your tips, I can at least try to return the favor!!!
I think you would like the entire Zinnia Queen Lime selection! I'm trying the Powder Puff Echinacia in pink of course, it's right up your alley!!! I am in love with the pastel yarrow as well!
Ha! I just really enjoy your channel and I feel like I am talking to a fellow flower farmer friend, which whatever I will just say we are lol! You keep things basic and you really keep to what you enjoy and I really appreciate that!!! Some people only grow what is selling to florist or whatever, but I really appreciate that you have carved your own pallet, and it's stunning!!! Excellent choices, Sarah ! I remember I grew the gorgeous Potomac lilac Snapdragons from Sarah Raven a few years ago not knowing I would never find those seeds again after Brexit 😢
Love your style of flowers. They are just stunning. I love all the light but bright tones you have chosen. Definitely more of an antique feel to them. I'm growing almost all of these myself this year.🥰
The flamingo feather was by far my favourite Celosia last year as well, though I’m trying a few more varieties this year. (Hello from Nova Scotia!)

Fantastic video! I'm in the North Island of NZ and I have a cut flower garden specifically for dried flowers. I love experimenting with what dries well. Your videos are always so informative. I can see you're really in your element as a young business woman

Actually your accent sounds quite charming in my German ears. It reminds me of one of my English teachers who had told us how the people of Hull pronounce the name of their city. It is exactly they same way Germans would say it. I've looked it up on the map: East Yorkshire!
I am not primarily interested in cut flowers, but I had found your channel some weeks ago when researching the Johnson Su bioreactor.

Hi Sarah, from Victoria BC! New to flower farming (selling from a little roadside stand) and trying the flamingo feather celosia as well...yours looks lovely. Mine have mostly germinated so fingers crossed! Also trying, Persian cress, snaps, stawflowers, soft blush colored yarrow, zinnia, rudbeckia, calendula, sedum, feverfew, asters, bells of Ireland, cinnamon basil, on and on! Last year (my first year) I had limited greens so used hosta and fern leaves and they worked nicely! Thanks for your fabulous videos!

I think my favorite thing to grow last year was bunny tail grass. Im growing a much larger patch this year! Also, snapdragons are hard to beat. I’ll always grow those.
I've doubled down on Roses with some David Austin's and Koko Loko. I ordered mostly climbers because I live in high desert and hope to double them as shade for the pickier flowers like sweet peas. Last year I used the branching sunflowers as shade and it was always 10° (F) cooler in that part of the garden so will be doing that again. Trying stock for the first time as well as some native perennials to hopefully flower in the coming years. I love your color palette!

I love the colours and shapes you've chosen to focus on for your bouquets this year, Sarah. You've introduced me to some new-to-me flowers as well, so thank you. I shall be adding those to my notes for future years. The limonium in particular has my eye! It was interesting to hear you talk about callistephus too, as those are a variety I am trying this year and I didn't know they were susceptible to rain damage.
Love your choices, and good for you having the courage to say no to some. If I lived in your area and not thousands of miles away, I would visit your honesty box every week. Your bouquets and some others I watch are the most lovely on YT. Looking forward to seeing what all you do on the farm this yr.
As always your bouquets stand out above all ! Im actually going to sell at 4 pop up markets in late summer , zinnias and Sahara rudbekia and sunflowers will be my main flowers, dill,basil,sage and many other herbs ,mint and lavender are my filler flowers , the smell can’t be copied ! ❤ thank you for inspiring me as always ❤❤
It's going to be a beautiful year!! I love statice ,yarrow and godetia, and am growing ageratum for the 1st time this year.
ageratum is a staple for me. it goes all season if kept cut!

i don’t succession plant, no. i am in zone 7b, near vancouver, canada. but you could! i just find in fall i dont use as much mauve so i am okay if plants start to get tired. but they go til frost!

What a beautiful selection. I grew some snapdragons in 2021 on your recommendation and they were beautiful, & came up the next year too, a bonus! I tried achillea summer berries or summer pastels, I don’t remember, but half the seed was a beige colour that didn’t age well, just went brown, so I’ll go for a couple of single colour packs this year. They are a lovely shape too.

I'm a wannabe flower farmer, taking this year to practice and grow all sorts of things to see what I like and what does well. I am soil blocking and growing from seed for the first time ever and so far it's going well, even the Lisi's. I ordered some cosmos apricotta because I saw it in your videos, can't wait to see the colours in real life. Hi Sarah, so good to be back watching your videos as you prepare for your spring and summer. Summer here just finished (NZ). First year selling bouquets from home garden and thoroughly enjoyed! What I learned... Bright colours more popular. Tall orange marigolds the way to go for a pop of colour, and dried even more popular. Giant Asters beautiful fresh and dried. Love all your inspiration. I love China asters as well as the Valkyrie mix...they grow beautiful and last sooo long in the vase, I don't seem to have a problem with rot. Maybe spread them out more🤷♀️

Lots of beautiful choices, Sarah! I’m really excited to try apricot strawflower this year too…I grew the burgundy and the blush last year and just fell in love with them. I am all about getting more scents in my bouquets this year. I’m always disappointed when I smell a florist or grocery store bouquet and it has no scent, so I want to make sure mine have at least a few delicate scents for customers to enjoy.

Good choises you have. My best seller for florists is lisianthus. Setaria and dara are also easy to sell to them.Btw how about ranunculus and gladiolus?
Watch out for the cold snap next night. You need sxtra protection for the frost.

I'm in my second year and starting about 10 times as many varieties.
Did you used to plant many, many more and now narrowing it down ?
I have many more grasses planted including black wheat. I think I'm overdoing it. Thank you Sarah
I love you work first of all the only thing I think I see sunflower which a lot of the cut flower market hate but I find they sell better in autumn they are more related to harvest
I love them myself but the sunflower got a bad rap from how they were sold as easy grow for children making the as a play thing
they grow late in the year but the later you grow them the less they last
Another market that has grown in the local flower market is from the late queen funeral her garden flower arrangements
the funeral market has grown in this area
And the feathered grass market is making that modern home 70s come back
But you hot biscuits and sunflower mixed would be quirky I seen sunflower and sheaf of wheat in an arrangement it was beautiful kind of church harvest festival theme

Me too. I have 4 kinds of stocks from Baker Creek. In Ohio. Mine are looking great, they will be ready for the garden in about a month.

Hi what is the name of the soiladgo that you grow
would you be willing to share suggestions on how you germinate phlox? its a mystery to me. last season, no issues but this year i cannot get her going.
Phlox needs cold stratification, I Winter sow mine or place seeds on a damp wet paper towel, place it in a plastic baggie and place in the freezer for 24 hours, then place in a cool dark place till they germinate and immediately sow the seeds in loose seeds starting mix in trays
I have a love/hate relationship with Lisianthus. I grow them each year even though I start about 200 seeds and end up with 50 plants if I'm lucky. I'm going to give it a go one more year before I completely move away from them.
I see different you tubers are buying the plugs instead, they pay more fore the plugs but the girl from b.a.r.e. flower farm breaks down the cost for you and shows how it can be profitable
Hi Sarah, I watched your video the other day ( which I really enjoyed as usual) about what you are growing this season and also what you have decided not to grow. I just grow flowers as a hobby to give to family and friends and I am not a flower farmer who is trying to run a business but I have just watched a video on CZcams from The Gardeners Workshop czcams.com/users/livewvtvzkTiNus?feature=share and I don't know whether you have already seen this but I think you should reconsider your decision not to grow sunflowers this year. If not, I know you will still have a great season ahead, Best wishes 🥰
I agree with your suggestion about sunflowers... a simple bundle of 5 would easily sell and not take much time to arrange.
I also sell flowers as a hobby and give away to friends and local nursing homes.
