My great grandmother was an immigrant that went to Honduras to find work and after the war erupted she was among the huge wave of Salvadorans returning to El Salvador. She survived this war and the Salvadoran Civil War and has passed away yesterday September 7th 2020 due to the Coronavirus here in Texas. Her memory will always live on. Adios Abuelita 💕

@@TheDigitalApple she left for the us when she was already an elderly woman I believe it was 2013 when she got here and I was there when she left when we visited, my guess is because things weren’t all that perfect at that time because of the president who took the money and left the country. She would live her new life here in Texas where she had a puppy who she loved a lot though to this day that puppy hates me, her ashes were taken to El Salvador last month

I'm from El Salvador 🇸🇻 and I think you did a great job explaining this conflict as it. Actually a lot of people think this war began only because the football game and they don't know the rest of the history. Congrats!

My grandpa is El Salvador, and my dad is Hondurian, my dad was about 6-7 years old when this war broke out, he remembers it vividly. That was the day my grandpa fought for his life with a machete, he fled to El Salvador bleeding, he barely made it alive. It would be another 8-10 years before my dad saw his dad again. What people don't realize, is that before the war people of El Salvador and Honduras lived side by side in Honduras, worked together, played with each other, married each other. This was a gruesome war that turned families/ neighbor's on each other.

My Grandpa's best friend and neighbor was hondurian, that morning he came running outaide to find 5 or 6 hondurians had hung my grandpa to a tree by his arms, they were stabbing him with sticks and machetes. My Grandpa's best friend grabbed a machete and fended them off, they said and I quote, "your a traitor, if you want to defend this salvadoran, we will kill you too" he said, "that's fine, kill me, but I'll be sure to take 3 of you with me".
They backed off. They told him "You saved him today, but tomorrow we will not be 6 men, tomorrow we will be 20-30 men, if we find you protecting him tomorrow, we will kill you and your entire household"
My dad saw all of this.
That night my grandpa's best friend took him to the border, and dropped him off.

Thank you for the info. I thought the dispute was just over land , but apparently over flow of Salvadorian nationals into Hounduras causing friction with local farmers adds to it. My Father fought in the *100 hour war/Football War… Leaving the military he transition into Hounduras Secret Service protecting the president. He has a few pictures of his platoon & a couple protecting the President. He moved to the states in the early 70’s, retired now at 86yrd old🙌🏾😎✌🏾

In El salvador is remembered as either the 100 hour war or the football war.
The real football war took place on July 8 2014 where Germany invented a new form of the Blitzkrieg against Brazil.
I had learned about this and the Salvadoran civil war from my Dad when I was around 12 while looking through some old family photos. My Dad told me about how his older brother fought in this war and how he(my dad) fought for both sides of civil war when it happened, he joined up with the FMNL, left and then later got drafted by the military

SIMPLE HISTORY: for a WW2 Video why not do a video about the ingenious inventor of the the Famed M1 Garand....(John C. Garand) and also include some of the changes that he incorporated to the M1 that would eventually lead to the development of M14.

TheGamingBros: but it was the first officially adopted semi-automatic rifle that was adopted by a Major military...yes during ww1 there were some semi-automatic rifles made during the war, but for majority of WW2 the standard rifle for (The British, Russians, Japanese, Italians,etc) their main battle rifles were five/10 shot bolt-action rifles. But there were other semi-automatics during the war, however those were primarily for specialists and were not given to regular troops until very late or after the war, while the garand/carbine were outfitted for every soldier, marine, and naval personnel.

The MG42 could have reached 1200 RPM and its still used today under the name MG3, The AKM based on the Avtomat Kalaschnikov is one of the most used and most famous guns in the world. And the MP44 is the father of all assault rifles. The MG34 was too a big inovation. They even had a curved barrel, krummlauf and a night vision scope,vampyr for the MP44.
