- David Pawson shows that Peter is teaching what various aspects of true submission are. He also gives advice to wives to win their unbelieving husbands. David sees that Peter is advising his readers on good attitudes which will stand them in good stead when severe persecution comes. David quotes a friend: ‘If you are faithful in the little battles now, he will give you the grace when the big crunch comes.’ Peter reveals what Jesus did while his body was in the tomb. While the first letter is preparing the people for persecution from outside the church, the second letter of Peter emphasizes dangers within the church. When life is easy, people become materialistic but under persecution the church grows. Heresy is a subtle pressure. David says there were four symptoms of disease within the church: A corrupt Creed - their beliefs were being changed. Corrupt Conduct as a result of the first. Corrupt Character so that they became ‘more animal than human’, operating by base instincts - greedy and lustful. Corrupt Conversation - grumbling, rebellion. Peter shows how to grow in character and maturity.

I wish I could have found David years ago. U have learned so much listening to his CZcams. Wish I gad his tapes and workbooks. We lost a great Godly man.

You will enjoy this awesome man of God, who has been teaching from the Bible for many years. He is one of the best, his presentations are simple yet profound, and he unfolds God's word humbly and graciously.
What he said at the 8 minute mark reminded me of how God spoke to me through my parents at age 22. I was born again 2 years earlier and my parents were still worldly, so I ignored their advice to leave a church I'd gotten involved in that was causing me so much pain and confusion. I didn't think God could speak to me through Him them. It causes me much pain now to see how wrong I was.

Someone once questioned me about what Jesus says when he says he's coming soon because they didn't believe in him, and I said we've supposed to have had dinosaurs here millions of years ago so add another thousand -- that's soon in comparison. They never asked again.

Actually He says that He is coming quickly. That does not mean soon, but when He comes, it will be quickly.
That said, it looks to me that the end of this age is coming soon.

The Jews considered a day by sun rise and sun set. The sun rose as usual, At noon the sun went down and at 3 pm it rose= one day and sun went down that night = 2 days, Saturday was day three
Genesis - and there was evening and there was morning a first day
A Jewish day does not begin at midnight, as with the rest of the world but a Jewish day begins at sunset or 6pm
Sunset marks the start of the 12 night hours, followed by sunrise 6am marks the start of the 12 day hours.
A day is evening then followed by day 6pm to 6pm. They had to get Jesus down off the cross and buried before 6pm because that's when the Sabbath began .......not sunrise
Those who teach Friday as the day Jesus died on the cross
- Friday night is one night ,
- Saturday is one Day
- Saturday evening is night 2 and
- Sunday is Day 2 ....you cannot make 3 days and 3 nights
In the Jewish Calendar there are Special Sabbaths - high days - extra holidays added in addition to the 7th Day sabbath
John 19:31 says - it was the day of preparation and the next day was a 'special sabbath'
There are 4 Special sabbaths - extra holidays before Passover

To rise on the 3rd day if that is Sunday - means Friday cannot be the day of the Crucification however you wish to count the days and nights
Either Sunday is day 3 or anytime from Saturday 6pm can be counted as the 3rd day
@@DavidPawsonMinistry I explained it already. 2 days from morning to evening because a day and night because at noon the sun goes down and rises again at 3 pm and another day and night from 3 to 6 = 2 days and Saturday 1 day and night. For the jews it determines the sun rising and falling
Jesus was preaching to those who died in Noah’s arch during the three days and three nights….so what are the beloved’s that died and awaiting the second coming doing? Bodies are dead spirits alive …. It is only sects that teach souls sleep in between the two bodies….
Jesus said to the thief on the Cross - ''this very day you will be with me in Paradise'' .......have you ever thought what this may mean ? Jesus did not say this very day you will be with me in Heaven .....you are right there was no limbo awaiting the second coming .....
Jesus said this very day you will be with me .............what did Jesus mean ?............. What is Paradise if it is not Heaven ?
